Thanks for the review! I think this lens will be perfect for me as I’m going for a Sony FX30 next. I have a 11mm but it’s too wide at times for certain shots and I think this lens will be the one that I leave on my fx30
Thank you for clarifying a lot of my questions I really appreciate it! What filter is that on your sigma 18-50 2.8 lens? Thanks again! Your video presentation is the very best! Great work!
I'm happy that the video helped! We have the K&F Concept 2 to 9 stops variable ND filter on our Sigma 18-50mm F2.8 lens. Hope it helps! Thank you so much for supporting the video!
I'm glad that you found the video helpful! The gimbal I use for the FX30 is the Zhiyun Crane M3, hope it helps! Thank you so much for supporting the video!
Thank you for the video. I don’t shoot video but own this lens for my A6700. Also have its smaller brother that came out a few months ago, the Sigma 10-18/2.8. I also shoot full frame and own the GM II 24-70/2.8 but a better full frame equivalent to compare to is Sigma’s 28-70/2.8 DG DN Contemporary. It’s about 200 grams lighter than the Sony GM II. Like your presentation and would recommend your video to them.
Im very interesting in this lens because Im still using the sigma 18-35 1.8 its heavy but still a good lens for video even in low light but I need some lighter.
Hello. I have both of these - my husband bought me a new FX30 and a Sigma 18-50 F2.8 lens. I am new to all of this and the lens will not fit on the camera so I learned that I need a converter-- but can not figure out which one -- I found on amazon a MC-11 -- but I called Sony and they said that I needed a converter with L Mount since the warranty card on the sigma says F/L mount. Can you help me with which converter I should get ? Thank you. !!!
My aperture ring doest show any difference when i turn left/right on sigma 18-50, is there anything to change in camera setting ? Am using sony zv e 1 , shooting manually Thanks
This is the dilemma I’m in. I’ve got the canon 15mm f1.4 for the ZV-E10 and looking for a good everyday carry zoom. I think you sacrifice size and the up close macro-ish capabilities of the sigma in exchange for the extra reach and image stabilization and slightly higher price. I think maybe the Tamron for video and Sigma for photos?
I would go with the Tamron because it is better in most ways to the Sigma. However if you NEED a compact and light setup then the Sigma is the way to go since they produce pretty similar results optically.
I LOVE my Sigma/FX30 combo. I do wish the manual focus was a touch better, but its still great for the price.
I've exactly the same combo, love it and for now it's my run n gun combination, works for most situations.

My favorite videolens for my A7IV. My latest videos is 100% with this lens and it’s soooo tiny 🤗
Also, 27-75mm equivalent with 4K60fps on A7IV is perfect if you need 4K.

I want to get this camera for auto focus and gimbal work
Is that a vnd on tue front of the lens with a red notch?
I have this lens and fx30
I wanted to know this lens gives the exact 18mm focal or have 1.5x crop factor?
Hey, I got a question
Do u get any vignetting on 18 mm with this lens and this vnd? Planning on getting the same setup and wanted to check this
tomorrow lm thinking to get this lens l wonder is there any vignetting when its 18mm?
do you think the combination of this lens with the fx30 kind of cancels out the stabilization since the fx has the stability in the body?
Was the camera stabilization turned ON for those shots?
Great video thanks.👍
