      Love their fans but face reality: Cincy is the smallest media market (#36) of the 12 candidates, is the second smallest metro area (2.1M, behind only Nashville), the smallest Hispanic population of the 12 candidates (only 2%), the second smallest projected population growth (only 7%, behind only Detroit), the smallest projected educated millennial growth rate (only 8%). These are all factors that will play a role in the selection. I work for a consulting firm that compiled research for all the markets...Cincy was consistently at the bottom in terms of market desirability. The fan support is Cincy's only hope. Will it be enough? We shall see but some people need to prepare themselves for the reality of being passed over.

    Kudos to FC Cincinnati. They had a great run. Also what a turnout to support your team. If this was in NYC, the stadium would not be sold out ( or packed) like it was in Cincinnati.

    Awww! Why didn't you guys add to the highlights when the New York Red Bulls went to the FC Cincinnati supporter group to applaud them for their support, against them ironnically. According to the fans they were stunned and pleased by the great gesture of sportsmenship and brotherhood. Would have been great to see here.

    • @davezanko9051
      @davezanko9051 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, that definitely should have been included. Class move, and essentially a "welcome to the show" gesture. In a postgame interview Red Bulls coach Jessie Marsch was just as effusive and stated outright that FC Cincinnati belonged in MLS with that level of support. A ringing endorsement all around. And now, as I wrote this a year later, it's official. Congrats to the FC Cincy organization and it's wonderful fans on being selected.

    Up 2-0 in the 75th minute. Hadn't allowed a goal all tournament. So brutal. Man.
    And the chance at 5:42, he could've possibly dropped it off for his wide open teammate there for a tap-in, not sure if the defender would've blocked the pass.

    There should be a playoff promotion and relagation. For example the ladt two teams in each conference face 2 of the winners in each conference in the second division. Whoever wins gets promoted

    Dominguez should have pulled the ball back and then shot and he would have scored. Or he could’ve passed it to the Center where his striker was waiting to just tap it in. He made a poor decision to shoot it first time. In games like these, you have to know where the opposition defenders are and had he been more mindful, he would’ve possibly gotten Cincy to a PK shootout and possibly a ticket to the USOC final.

    • @aceking_offsuit

      USOC broadcasts usually use one of the two local broadcasts (assuming both teams are broadcasting the game) as their official feed, and that's what happened here. This is FC Cincy's local commentary team. Had ESPN or another national network done the broadcast, it would have been a "neutral" commentary team.

    • @rsybing

      a bit late but you are wrong. its FCC teams announcers so they will be biased. I'd argue and say that any sport with announcers for each team have very biased announcers for the most part. Look at baseball and basketball when it comes to games that are not nationally broadcasted

    Soccer 101, if you are leading 2-0 with 20 minutes left, Park that damn Bus!
    FCC backlines just opened the last 20 minutes, You can't do that with NYRB fast, one pass soccer. FCC just lost it, they were in control of their game and let it slip away.
    Not taking anything away from NYRB, never lost control and consistent attack paid off.
    FCC has a bright future ahead, MLS and great soccer fan base. Who know they might grow and breed great players here.
    FCC only two years and reach this maturity as a team. It hurts but they'll come back.

    • @RBzee112
      @RBzee112 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Marcos Perez FCC did try to park the bus, but NYRB was the fitter of the two sides. FCC were cramping and ball watching after the 70th minute.

      This is a dumb question...across the United States what sports do black people gravitate too? How many inner city soccer teams are you familiar with? This isn't racist it's fact. No the system that has allowed this to happen is another topic of discussion.

    Wow this is what the sport is all about. Those fans were amazing. Hey stupid ass US Soccer. Sucks to see this Cincinnati team stay down in their division because there is no regulation or promotion system to get to the MLS. But can't wait to watch the worst teams stay in the league and watch the playoffs for absolutely nothing to happen except a championship cup being raised. It's great to be original but this is an international game. Stop ruining it with our domestic league taking away the chance for the sport to grow and incorporating new teams into our top division

    • @FAITHandLOGIC
      @FAITHandLOGIC 7 ปีที่แล้ว +26

      lakerchamps100 Huh? Even if there was pro/rel, Cincy is in 8th place in their conference so they would be stuck where they are.
      This is also only their second year and they're attempting to join MLS with a bid and a stadium plan.
      MLS is choosing 2 of the 4 expansion teams in December; they don't just hand out expansion teams based on attendance.
      How exactly is FCC getting screwed?

      Fc cincinatti is fun to watch but they are an average team. Don't forget nyrb sat some of their starters including robles.
      The tricky thing about open cup is most teams send a combination of their a and b team. If new York played with all their dps the whole game this is a blowout

    • @mcriii
      @mcriii 7 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      lakerchamps100 If US Soccer had pro/rel then last year Chicago and Houston would have been kicked out and replaced by Indy Eleven and NY Cosmos, two teams that don't even have a stadium and one of which went months without paying its players. That would have been horrible for US Soccer. We aren't ready for pro/rel.
