Fernando is about two old freedom fighters from the Mexican Revolution !! It was recorded September 1975 and released in the UK on 12th March 1976 , Sweden 12th April 1976 and some time in August 1976 in the U.S . The song was recorded specially for the bands " Greatest Hits Album ". This song was originally a single for their fellow group member Anni-Frid Lyngstad , but was re- recorded for their "Greatest Hits" Album as mentioned above . It's easy to be mesmerised over them . ABBA was LEGENDARY and I first heard them on the AMERICAN BANDSTAND show…it’s hard to believe that they didn’t speak ENGLISH. This same SONG 🎧🎶🫶🏽 in SPANISH is BEAUTIFUL. Swedish pop influenced and impacted AMERICAN pop in and with so many groups in the US. The writers and music compositions were produced by the same years later. Many would not believe how many pop groups went to SWEDEN and yes, they recorded their songs where ABBA had recorded the various SONGS as well. I watched a NETFLIX documentary about the so called phenomenal influence. Thanks so much for reviewing and sharing your review.
I think they entered the Eurovision Song Contest with Waterloo way back in the 70's and won and the rest is history, they opened something in the UK last year which is themed ABBA, you have a meal and a show, you'll probably find it on the Internet
