Summernats 23 - Burnout Fail!

- We see plenty of good burnout at Summernats every year, what about the ones that aren't so good?
More often than not the crowd or judges will ask them to move on, or some of them get the hint themselves. No doubt they'll all be back next year bigger and better.

The entry is pretty unforgiving if you don't have massive HP. It's so sticky. And if you're not already breaking traction before you start your circle work, then forget it. That's why most of them just exit.
You can never let a failed burnout get ya down, no ones perfect gotta start somewhere and make a fool of yourself before you become a ledgend!

the funnyest burnout i have seen was at gazza's when a guy came in a stock yellow camaro and drove around in circles carefully, and kept going after they told him to get of.
that VK with the massive injector stacks and the white Falcon both had ripper starts!

Been into the car scene for awhile now, and burnouts are easily some of the most boring shit I've ever seen.

Yep, I knew the guy who owned it. It caught fire at Summernats a couple years before that and he rebuilt the whole car and got the FRIED numberplates to suit, then he was driving it out to the drags and it caught fire again, and this time it went all the way. Moral of the story - don't use cheap hose clamps.

@170turbo i think the skyline failed because he didnt mean to leave the pad like he did, he was expecting it to whip - but instead cut is burnout short
@SkackThaManiak that they arent in america? thats why at the Summer Nationals in Ma USA you get 5000 Fords, 5000 GMs, 5000 dodges, 1 nissan and 0 holdens

I think you're thinking of FRIED which was another blue VK that burnt to the ground on it's way to WSID for the drags and yes that was about 8 years ago.
@jwmstrs95 I thought so too. Most of the time all these guys do killer burnouts, but this year just wasn't their time.

matt black vp wagon with hot rod front end made me throw up in my mouth a little bit - alot of the ones that stalled would be due to fuel evaporation i think - its pretty hot at summernats

i only saw one honest fail and that was the second car shown. other than that i didnt see any fails whatsoever.

Not all of these are fails. It's hard to do burnouts you see a blown V8 Chevette with 1300 HP in a 400 HP Skyline. Ask much you Aussies do...

No my fault if you don't get the joke. Aussies are always spamming americans burnouts videos about how they're doing it better. Give any decent driver the same cars with 800+ hp and they'll do just as good. But nop, let's brag about it in a video where the most powerful car is around 400ish. Apples with apples, oranges with oranges. Some people can't realize that a car built for the sole purpose of doing burnouts will do better than a stock'ish car...
+DaGhostQc Australians still do a better burnout with their stock standard daily drivers then Americans can with any car!
