Just a tip, if u use dip powders, a good way to avoid those lumps and bumps is to pour over the dip instead of dipping your nail in, a lot of time those bumps get created because the base dip gel gets moved around and pushed as u dip, creating those bumps, also u have try to apply that base as evenly as possible before it dries upon you, so be sure to have everything u need ready so u can work fast to keep it even, a lot of the bumps can also come from it drying on you before you have covered it in dip completely. Another tip is you can use Uv base gel instead of the air dry base gel it comes with, this gel self levels so it goes on more evenly anyway, and it gives u more time to work since it won’t dry on you till it’s cured in a UV lamp, so u can be more careful and make sure to coat the nail evenly, and then you pour over the dip powder and cure in the lamp, then brush off any loose powder, no lumps and bumps making the filing and shaping just that much easier 😁👍🏼 Just some tips for anyone trying to make their dip powders work but are having these issues 🙂
A tip for polygel: put cuticle oil and don’t buff the nail or dehydrate it, just apply base coat after your nail is only but there’s no oil spilling around the cuticles, then you’ll have a peel off base coat if you make any mistakes!! This works with any method
@@senora7033 so basically, all I did was oil my nail until it was visibly oily/hydrated but not dripping oil and did not buff it, one layer of base coat again, one of oil and another of base coat
I have been playing with different nail systems, I usually do pressons, but just tried Gelx last weekend, it went fairly fast, but I am not great at polishing my nails and that was where I had a problem. I appreciate this video as it helps me understand the other systems, where I may not have to paint my nails, but they may look just as good. your nail designs are gorgeous!
Just keep polishing your nails and you will master it! Trust me, practice makes perfect. In no time, esp as your hand steadies, you'll be doing nail art in no time! Doing your own nails is very rewarding. just some motivation for ya :)
Thank you so much for this! I am currently on this diy nail journey because I haven’t found anyone here in Hawaii who can do dip powder properly. This video was very informative and answered a lot of questions I had 🤗
Thank you for this video. I never got the difference between polygel and get x. Which of the three last the longest? I am asking while I am still watching your video.
Thank you very much for this review on all the systems. Looking into doing my nails at home and was on the poly gel side until I finally understood the gel x wows I was reading that people had. I'm going to get the gel x which is time convenient! You are awesome great job!
Hi Carmen, So thorough, Love the time and energy and spent making this video for us, your subscribers. I just want to ask if the gelx is hard to remove? Because you did not mention that, although you recommended that. I did want to purchase the kit. Sending love and blessings
hey carmen, i can never get my gelx nails to last it is so hard to work so hsrd on something but have nothing stay on yk. i think its the cuticle prep bc i have the dehydrator and primer but not cuticle remover so i dont do that.
Hmm, make sure during application your nails aren't water logged as in they weren't soaked in water or anything. Thin thin layers. Keep experimenting I'm sure it'll work out for ya!
OMG i had my Kiara Sky bond glue itself shut! I love my dip powder so much. Alsooo your nail art and designs have gotten so good! I'm still struggling to get my french tip down LOL
Have u tried the hack with a nail stamper? It gives me a perfect French tip every time, u just spread the French tip color on a silicon nail stamper, I have even seen people use a silicone make up blender, and u push the free edge into the color, starting at the bottom of where u spread the color into the stamper at about a 45 degree angle and “u pick up” the color onto ur free edge, the further in you push the deeper your French tip, if my description isn’t sufficient and u need a visual, definitely search “nail stamp French tip” or “French tip hack” and you will find tons of videos with a visual demonstration and even troubleshooting if u are having issues getting it right, but one u get it, u will have a perfect French tip every time ☺️👍🏼
I’ve been curious about both poly gel and gel x. This is the best video I have come across explaining g and comparing them. Thank you!
which one lasts the longest?

I got a beach holiday on April and I have a few months to learn how to do my nails 😂
Great Review & Details Thank you
Why did you just buff out the bumpiness of the dip technique ? I’m curious was it impossible or would it have messed it up ?
How long do the nails usually last?
Thank you girlie!!!
amazing video!

awww ty!! i think the biggest tip it having something to rest your hand on, so it is steady when painting :)

Very helpful love your energy definitely subscribed ❤️ hope you’re doing well ☺️
Why can't you just shape them after you put them on w. The gel x?
No one talks about how the forms for polygel lift while trying to cure
I have these clear nail clips I got from Amazon that holds the form down.
