I know this is just a thread on you tube and no one gives a fuck. But this song.. Is so much more than a song to me. I can't describe how greatful I am for this song. My childhood best friend committed suicide a couple years ago and one of his last of many talents he began, the banjo was one of them. I discovered this song shortly after his passing. I play it and start off crying.. 6 times in and I'm dancing around my kitchen with happy memories of him. I love this song. I love it

The cello player Danny deserves another special wow for playing the cello wrapped around his neck while standing. This instrument is difficult enough while played sitting... No frets, just this barren black fingerboard...
Great to hear a modern bluegrass, Folk Americana, sound still alive today. Makes this old bastards heart happy to hear. As soon as the record store has your music in stock I will buy me a copy!

Thank you for the recommendation. I've heard the Devil Makes Three like their music also. Shakey Graves heard the other day both are quite good. Lost Dog Street Band is not bad eitherThanks again.
Saw the video for In Hell I'll Be In Good Company. Five videos later, I have found my favorite band. This is the best thing to happen to music in a long damn time. Way to go guys. You fucking rock. Keep it up boys.
I blasted you guys from my cabin in the WV mountains while on vacation. You attracted all the neighbors and we had an awesome night of food, drinking and socializing. Thank you guys for being so damn good!

Grew up on LI went to about every Harry Chaplin concert my big sister would take me to. All college campuses....absolutely loved that man in person. Great memories.
I was introduced to Dead South's music by my 19 year old son whom is our Armed Forces, and seen you in concert,my son is an old soul from the start and we all love and miss him while he serves our Country. When i hear Dead South's great songs, i am instantly transported to the moment i had my children in the Jeep cruising down some South Eastern Highway listening to their music and my son was driving. the air was blowin all around, the speakers were boomin, we hadn't seen Cole in months and even his grandmother loved the music. That was the most amazing time ever. Thank you Dead South for great memories! God Bless! and great success on your tour!!
Why aren't The Dead South more well known ? I only recently discovered them by accident but more people should have the good fortune to hear them and I am telling all my friends to listen in to these guys here in the UK. Fantastic band and brilliant music.

So glad I found you guys! At the beginning of last summer, I was at a motorcycle rally. My wife and I and another couple camped on the side of a saloon. The first night a 1% club decided to party until about 2am playing music and hooting and hollering. I was in my tent trying to sleep through it and finally dosed off. Suddenly, I heard some music that was way different, and in a half doze I heard Broken Cowboy, and In Hell. I tried all summer to figure out who and what songs that was. Last weekend at another rally a young guy played In Hell. I asked who sang it, and found you! Hell yeah, you guys are awesome, and Broken Cowboy is my all time favorite song. Thanks!
I LOVE the dead south but I think most of their songs are conspicuously absent of a rhythm section. The banjo player is playing a bass drum and most of their songs don't have percussion.

It might just be me, but at 1:59/2:00, right before the banjo goes full bore, I hear the cello sing out “Baby won’t you run with me” and I feel it’s so fitting to this masterpiece.
Ok, being from the Bluegrass State you think........ Bluegrass music from Canada.... Hmmm..... So now that I have listened to The Dead South, I can only say that not only is it real Bluegrass but its damn good Bluegrass..... and they are from Canada.....Well done boys..well done!

How can anyone dislike this song it’s so good it gives me so many memories of my past
By far one of the most talented group of musicians in my opinion
This is the kinda song you listen to in your darkest moments. High thinking about life. Makes you think about so things that could of been done diffrently ya know
These MEN make my ❤️sore like a Eagle in the Mountains and over the plains.....🪶🌾🪶
This hast to be my favorite.
I really enjoy this music. Thank you.
I just love this song.
It's not the only one of TDS I love, and maybe I am not quite as obsessed with this one as I was with "The Good Lord" or "Massacre of El Kuroke", but I love it.
It's simply beautiful.
Cello is amazing!
Im ditching my heavy metal....... this is amazing
James Tom Have both! You can't turn your back on metal. I can't allow it from one metal head to another x
Honestly from another metal head to another just enjoy both. Know I do.
METAL never Ditched you.
"No one can destroy the metal
The metal will strike you down with a vicious blow
We are the vanquished foes of the metal
We tried to win for why we do not know"
Dude... metal will always live in a special place in my heart, but all music has a floor to itself. Love it all, you can.
Don't let fame/producers water you down like the Avett Brothers (sad face). This is awesome.
this band is truly amazing.
One of the best songs ever recorded. Roll on Feb 17 2019. Going to see them live in Birmingham UK.
The solo at 2:01 sealed my decision to learn playing banjo :D
You never learned it did you....
I want to know nowtoo . Unlike that guy I didn't have a choice after drunk-ordering a banjo on Amazon after listening to "In Hell I'll Be In Good Company"...had to justify that $500 purchase. I've gotten pretty good!
i'd like to learn banjo too, but the problem that here, in Brazil, it's hard to find a banjo in a store for test this one
@@alvaro9455 just order one on Amazon.
The solo is quite manageable to learn on guitar too, so start there to get your speed up if you can’t find a banjo 👍🏻
Dude I was thinking the same thing.. I’m from the good ole bluegrass state myself loving some Canadian musicians rocking out some awesome music. Love them.
Thank you mister for supporting canadian music!
..................................DOT.............……………….…
Kinda like the American BLUES scene going over to England.
One of the greatest bands in history, what a time to be alive.
since we went for a holiday to california I heard them in the radio. and I love rock but folks is my new favourite! they are great and such a good talent guys!
This is a great song of one of the greatest bands of all time. Such a blessing to know the music these brilliant men create. So much love from NC❤️❤️
My boyfriend cried when i was singing this song to him, i honestly wanted to cry too how happy he was 🥰
Superb album!
Loving the shit out of this track at the moment, looking forward to seeing The Dead South on your next year.
Please come to the Pacific Northwest! We have several awesome bluegrass festivals that just won't be complete without these guys!
This is the last Band I saw before Lockdown, Manchester UK. Love Honey You... Cello and Banjo are sublime 👏👏👏
Pure musical epiphany.... the best song I've heard made after 2010 and very possibly since I've lived
It’s like the Cello and the Banjo are having a conversation on ecstasy.
DEFINITELY!!!
In that case the vocalist needs to be doing backrubs while the lead singer gets everyone a bottle of water
Yeah, but drugs are bad
😂 😂 😂 😂
The convo: dude, your eyes
other guy and instrument: your eyes!
Go see them in person! The energy and the audience's love for them is so fun. CA, NV, CO you won't regret it.....
Go see them in prison.
