Not even the only time she does it. She does it in her Extra Boss apperance in Seihou too.
Interestingly; that occured between Touhou 5 and 6, and Reimu uses her Windows design there as well. [So technically Seihou is the debut of Windows Reimu]

Just some strange dimension story where only one of our main Touhou characters get transfer to the PC-98 world.
Honestly, I want more in-depth story in Touhou and this might actually do the job.
@@Zack_Zander There is in-depth story in the later games. From mountain of faith to Ten desires that was all because of the moriya shrine wanting nuclear power. If you look hard enough you can find story it's just you aren't looking hard enough. No offense.
@@ianraymo350 Touhou stories are pretty repetive and boring sometimes and the moriya shrine conspiracy is more of a meme than actually story background lol. Touhou have nice character designs and the music and gameplay is amazing but story wise is the thing that more lacks about touhou, really, prove of this is that touhou 17 plot is the same as touhou 15. Also we have to say that more stories went like this as far as the series go: incident happens, protagonist go beat the shit of the perpetrators they beat random girls in the way and they become friends of the perpetrator. No offense but yeah the story is never really that complex most of the time.
@@bamshablam5977 the lore of the folklore based characters is what makes the story seem deeper and I haven't read the manga series written by Zun but I know those expand the story a bit more.
In any case you're right, the in-game story is more comical and random than anything else, with a lot of implicit or ambiguous facts that fans love to develop.
Now we need every Windows character in PC-98 style.
One of the things I enjoy about the PC-98 games is that some people in the western fanbase like to give the unamed characters names. Like the purple-haired stage 4 midboss got the fan name Rengeteki. She also attacks you in Mystic Square during the 3rd stage
The stage 2 midboss of EoSD's name is given by the fans too

Much love went into this! 東方 Highly responsive to Prayers is really cool, and pretty fun because it's so dang unique, it is it's own game. I remember finding it that it has some similarities to some type of puzzle game (I can't remember the game, and I'm having trouble finding it), but other than that it seems very unique. This game that some site mentioned had similarities, I don't think it also had the craziness of bullets everywhere.
Touhou 1 literally is an arcanoid clone. Unique my ass.

Sadly it won't happen. The PC-98 games are liscensed to Amusement Makers; which Team Shangai Alice/ZUN was part of at the time.
This is also why Alice/Reimu/Yuuka had to undergo redesigns, and many of the characters haven't returned. ZUN... technically didn't own them.

@@Kanae18 It's actually further supported by something that happened in the gap between Touhou 5 and Touhou 6. Reimu's cameo in Seihou uses her EoSD design [Her Seihou cameo was pre-Touhou 6; it's actually the debut of Windows Reimu]. Meanwhile Marisa's design is somewhere between PC-98 Marisa and EoSD Marisa.

I know this is unrelated to the video but I have a touhou theory I want to spread around my theory is that gensokyo will be destroyed from the barrier getting destroyed we already know that the barrier can be destroyed if it is hit with enough spiritual power we also know that people can train to increase their spiritual power so all someone would have to do is just get strong enough either by training or getting enough powerful magical artifacts and then break the barrier they can train for as long as they want because they can become a hermit so they could live forever and therefore train forever and then become so ridiculously strong that no one could stop them from breaking the barrier I also think that in touhou if you're stronger than someone you probably can resist there abilities for example the strongest character in touhou is hecatia and her only ability is to have three bodies while on the other hand characters like yukari has the much more powerful boundary manipulation ability but she would still lose to hecatia because hecatia is stronger than her so using that same principle hypothetically a human could become strong enough to destroyed the barrier and resist anyone who opposes them abilities even if the event of a normal human getting that strong is unlikely given enough time it will happen because that's his how statistics work as long as there's a non-zero possibility for something happening given an infinite period of time it will happen so yeah that's my theory and if you find it interesting I'd like you to spread it around but make sure the credit me okay..
