Anime composite breakdowns are basically impossible to find in the English video space, so even crumbs of it is amazing to see. Would love more like it, thanks for the vid!!
@@BEAST-hc6jg I’ve been doing this for 7 years, but that’s not considered a long time in this industry! You’re always learning, and part of my goal is to provide the resources to make learning about this stuff easier! I want people to learn way easier and faster than I have been!
I hadn't seen a video on anime compositing before, and the process was somewhat of a mystery. Now I know a lot more, and it's an incredibly exciting process. Thanks for the educational video. I'd love to hear more about anime production ☺️
I use after effects for compositing. While you technically can composite in Clip Studio, it is extremely inefficient. Each layer would be rendered separately, then imported into an editing software! (In my case, AE!)
@@DamonBilliot ah yea i had a feeling it probably wasnt the most common or efficient too tool. especially because when i watched that one tv show depicting aot staff working on part 3, thet staff used after effects.
How you explain everything and rlly break it all down scratches the hyper fixative part of my brain well :O Really well done video!! Might use this for whenever I practice animation myself :D
Also want to mention how I love that you name the ppl who worked on the animations individually! It’s just a mundane detail but it’s nice to see credit be given to those poor MAPPA animators 😭
This is actually fire I’d actually be interested in knowing how the animators did beyblade burst, I have no idea what they used to make the beys CGI? Blender? Idk, I wanna know
Yet another phenomenal video! Would love to see your approach to compositing metal objects in anime if that's something you're interested in covering. Had a crack at it myself for a fanedit project I'm working on, but there's very little info online available about metal compositing in partucular so it's been a challenge. Either way, keep up the great work! Compositing needs to be talked about more.
Metal can be quite difficult depending on the exact look that you’re going for. I’ll be making many shorts covering different compositing topics, and a few different approaches for metal are now on the “to do” list!
I was worried that the video was too long actually, so this is really nice to hear! Aside from just giving knowledge, I try to make them entertaining and as least repetitive as possible, so the thought process is that more concise videos would be better. If people are interested though, I can do more long form content!
@@DamonBilliot u have my support in whichever direction you r going. I feel like ppl r more willing to accept longer form videos too, cuz it's quite specific.
Thank you for actually doing a breakdown with the actual raw animation files and showcasing the actual process, unlike a certain animation breakdown TH-camr..
cool break down. I was gonna ask" Why do you suppose the hair is on 7 frame loop and the shirt is 11on Sukuna?" but its bc they meet at 77 frame loop. This is stuff I wouldn't think of unless you didn't mention it. Thanks !
They’re just offset to make the loop less obvious. It’s easier to draw loops so you don’t need to draw hundreds of frames for each, and they’re offset from each other so that the eye doesn’t notice the loop as easy. They would meet at the 77th frame, you’re right, but that’s not a super important detail I’m glad you asked this though, because I entirely overlooked mentioning that in the video even though I made a point to bring up the loops. I’m still learning how to make this type of content, so bear with me!
After Sukuna laughing and said: "You can see it righrt, my technique" during Makora fight, he perform a skill that shoot various slash at Makora and cut it hand. Can you PLEASE break it down, it's my most favorite scene in that episode, especially the HAND technique just before he using it. It looks so freaking COOLLLLLL, thanks

I said shot, not frame. I don’t know why you’re leaving comments trying to disprove what I’m saying, but you’re not doing a very good job of it my friend. My content is to give a basic overview for hobbyists and amateurs to begin to find information about production. It is not the animation bible. It is not the only way things are done, or even the best way things are done. It is an avenue for people to get a simple to understand introduction into these topics, and to encourage them to research and learn. Nothing more. With this said, your comments have not once disproved a thing I’ve said, yet you are going out of your way to be quite rude. Relax. It’s a TH-cam video. Happy animating!
@@DamonBilliot your content is fine.. your time lapse is enjoyable however, when you said that it takes industry people 1 hour per frame for compositing that's not true at all
@@2fast_aethat’s not what I said, but I do see where the confusion in interpretation comes from. I’ll attempt to phrase things better next time, though I can only be so accurate when condensing content into such short form like this. I think a more accurate deep dive should be reserved for videos solely about the topic, otherwise it is easy to overwhelm people with information. At the end of the day, my videos are an introduction, not an in-depth course
I use either Adobe Animate CC or Clip Studio Paint EX for animating depending on project requirements, but I’d recommend Clip over Animate if you aren’t already used to them. I use Adobe Animate CC for compositing and Premiere pro for final edits! I opened these files by importing them into Animate CC so I could analyze it frame by frame and draw over it in a new layer!
Do you think the compositer for jjk is as competent as the Demon Slayer one? I know Demon slayer looks kinda better but it has a way good schedule than jjk.. so i'm hoping you could tell me by comparing their technical skills.
This is a great question! I don't think they are less competent by any means! The shows simply go for different aesthetics, and the one used by Studio Ufotable is surely more intricate, but that's simply due to the art-style that the directors choose to go for! MAPPA have chosen to simplify things to meet the demand of a harsh schedule, whereas Studio Ufotable almost always accepts only projects that have more lenient schedules!
I embed the video files by going to file -> import -> video! Choose the third option! I find all of the files I analyze on Sakugabooru, or in certain cases, remake them myself!
