Oh man this was my exact dilemma I was recently going through, I tried on the Superocean 42 and SMP White dial recently and they are both amazing. I haven't purchased either yet but the SMP just gave me that little extra tingle inside when it was on my wrist.
I got rid of the omega after wearing it one week- Amazing quality- but that Bracelet is not comfortable- the HE Valve is trash and so is the bezel which is impossible to grip and turn. The Breitling is timeless and slim- more elegant. in the end the watch has to speak to you!
Also without any snark, it's nice to see a personable video about a luxo watch that is informative, entertaining, and presents a real-world experience bringing it down to earth and relatable. Cool channel.
I have considered both of these watches. I still haven't pulled the trigger. The problem with the Omega for me is that unnecessary helium valve. One reason I like the Breitling is because I don't see it around. Great video.
I know same here. I've passed over this otherwise really appealing model just because of that. Looks like a wart to me and is utterly useless. I get that it's been a part of the 90's "look" for a while now, but at least provide an option without and just see how it sells.
my son just got the Omega with a stainless band last month. Stunning! And the lines across the face make it stand out from others in a very nice & unique way!
Count me with the seamaster crowd -- I had a chance to see this exact watch in person --- it blew me away with its quality and presence. If I had enough disposable income, that would be my next purchase
I scratched my Seamasters AR last week. It’s only noticeable when I intentionally look for it. So about 100x per day. Debating removing the top layer. As for the bracelet. I absolutely love it. I almost didn’t buy it because of the non taper. But. I wouldn’t change a thing.
I love the Seamaster's aesthetic, but the difficulty in turning that bezel makes it borderline unusable. In that respect definitely form over function.
I have the black model of this watch. After awhile you do get used to it and the bezel becomes easier to use. The trick is gripping and turning it while keeping your thumb around the 8 o'clock and your index finger on the 2 o'clock areas. That is if course, if you're wearing the watch traditionally on your left wrist. I admit, it shouldn't be so complicated though but you do get used to it.
@@N3VURMYND You're right, that seems to work for the new Seamaster. But sadly it doesn't work on the model from two iterations prior (the one from Casino Royale with the aluminum bezel and classic execution of the wave dial). In my view that's the most beautiful version of this watch. It is incomprehensible how such a flaw could persist through 4 iterations of a watch at this level -- maybe its the price to pay for that unique scalloped bezel design.
I've just traded my titanium bezeled black ceramic cased smp which I really liked but the bezel was so difficult to grip. I never used it under water but I'd say it would be even harder and probably impossible with gloves on. Again absolutely love the watch but this is meant to be a dive/tool watch, I'd still have another one though 👍
Well done once again! I, like probably most people that are watching this fantastic video (like all of yours are) went through the very same thought process. I originally bought the SO 44 and felt it was just a bit large for my 7” wrist and then decided to look at alternatives before getting the SO 42. I ultimately ended up getting the SO 42 over many others in the same class due to what you said in the video. Spot on. I would add that I find the AR coating on the SO to be far superior to any of the competitors. I’d like to also add that your videos for some reason give me the same Warren Miller vib (not sure if you know who that is, but it’s a good thing!). Not sure if anyone’s ever mentioned that. Keep up the great casual videos! And great taste in watches!
How long have you had the SMP? I had one before and i loved it, but it lost its charm after some months. Dont really know why. Ended up getting a Yachty 40 Rhodium instead.
@@dangerpowers5939 I’ve had one for almost 3 yrs - first the chrome dial, now the Tokyo Olympics white dial SMP. Tokyo white dial version is so legible. It’s fits my 7.5” very well.
Breitling used a rubber coated bezel on some of the older models around 2013. The Breitling also uses the glucydur balance on the higher end 2824-2 for better magnetic resistance. Probably not on par with the Omega but offers some resistance to magnetic fields.
Is that stated on their website? Of so it is hard to find. Same woth3 the shock absorbing inner bezel. Only Breitling does that. But you can't find it only after researching 3 hours on the web.
The Omega SM bracelet may be not perfect, but in my opinion superior to that of the Breitling SO. The SM bracelet is equipped with a push button quick adjustment clasp and does not look as weird as the SO bracelet with its angled links. But this is just my personal opinion.
Nice one 👍 Got the Seamaster and put it on the rubber for summer and got myself a Black Bay on bracelet for winter. The SO is lovely but I preferred the Tudors bang for buck. Keep up the good stuff
FYI. As a former Breitling Sea Wolf owner and current Omega 300M owner; Breitling are notorious for inflated service estimates. They wanted $700 USD for a service of a 2824 based movement but insisted that a new dial and hand set were required. It wasn’t.
You confused. The Omega on bracelet is heavier than the Superocean. It is 185g and the superocean weight is 180. Also the Breitling has 38 hours of power reserve not 42.
4:12 Sadge man. What an odd design choice. Like what's the point of having a sapphire crystal if the crytal's coating can still get easily scratched leaving visible permanent scratches when you look at your beautiful dial.
Those omega skeleton hands : Tall cup of nope. And the impossible to turn bezel lets you know it wasn't really meant to be used in any sport or adventure settings. Great vid as always 👍
I like your deadpan, sarcastic, say how actually feel kind of watch reviews, and a nice and slow transition into this style of videos. Very different and honestly quite refreshing compared to other watch review channels out there!
Both are great watches. I have the blue Seamaster on a bracelet and the white with blue trim Superocean with a rubber strap and I love them both. Not exactly an apple to apple comparison when comparing the bracelet versus the rubber strap but the SO feels slightly more casual than the SM, at least to me. I heard the complaints about the non-tapering bracelet on the SM but it doesn’t bother me. Had it not been brought to my attention I probably wouldn’t have even noticed. I think it is very comfortable to wear. You made a great choice but there was no wrong answer here.
The one I'm always lusting after is the Omega although with the white dial, black bezel. I have to admit though at $1000 cheaper the Breitling would tempting as it's a beauty + $1000 would get me a Seiko king turtle too......... Yea but I've always wanted the Omega so.......
Just get the King Turtle first and see how you feel. I suspect your diver desires will be more than satisfied by the King Turtle. Punches way above it's weight, beautiful enough to enjoy every time you look down at it, affordable enough to put through the ringer with no worries and robust enough to take the beatings. Plus 200m is way more than enough. To me, that is when the love starts to creep in. After you have had this cheap tool for a few years and there are scratches all over. When you reminisce about the times you smashed it off stuff and travelled with it with no worries, and all the while it keeps on ticking. I highly recommend looking into a Sinn U50 as well. Submarine steel, cheap/reliable sw movement and tough as nails. Cheers and enjoy your watch hunt my friend.
@@jollyrob glad to hear I can help in some way. I am sure you have experience handling higher end pieces yourself too. In my experience, the best tool for the job is usually more expensive. However, when dealing with extremely over engineered tool watches, that is not always the case. And yeah exactly, get the Turtle (or Samurai) and then you have more money for whatever else you want. I used to have a GMT Master II. It was a great watch and I really loved it. However, something was off. It was too pricey and flashy for me to truly enjoy it. I sold it, and made a rule for myself to built my entire collection staying within the price range of that GMT Master II. I have learned about so many brands that I did not know even existed before and scored some truly beautiful watches for pennies on the dollar because of it. Looking back now, I laugh a bit because the GMT II was actually satisfying my dress watch fix despite it being a tool watch through and through. I replaced that desire with a mid 90's Girard Perregaux at almost 1/10th of retail and my god. The difference in art, finishing and overall beauty compared to many 5 figure watches I have handled is just massive.
The Superocean used to have a rubberised bezel with raised numerals, now it is DLC (diamond like coating). Two great watches, I own both. But the SMP 300 is just a better watch mostly due to the movement. It is also better finished. I think both are a great for the price too.
Love the objective opinion. Sarcasm also appreciated. I use my pip for my egg cooker with no audible alert which I don’t cook underwater either! You’re my new favorite watch reviewer! Thank you
Aaahhh... your reviews are just a pleasure to watch! I could really feel your internal struggles. As you may remember from one of my older comments I actually bought the exact Superocean 42 you're owning atm. The good thing is that I also have an older SMP300 (ceramic blue, but pre wave dial) so I'm pretty much done here. Sorry, Evan! Gotta face this challenge on your own.
I agree mostly. I have owned the 42 superocean and it’s a great watch. Not that keen on the numbers but the lume is great. My understanding is that the bezel is harder rubber as it can blemish and mark like it’s predecessor although it’s more durable I think. I never would say it’s steel.
Watch collecting is all very well, but I'm inclined to think that it's more a love of ownership together with the aesthetic and status the watch generates. How can you possibly appreciate and cherish the quality, design and character of any timepiece unless you've worn it long enough for this relationship to develop and mature. I own two watches - a 1960s Cyma watersport and a 1954 9ct gold Omega dress watch - and both have accompanied me and shared my experiences etc, in almost equal measure. I've been able to fully appreciate their characters in terms of design and reliability and admire the superb workmanship of each as the years have gone by. I believe that more satisfaction is gained through watch ownership if you give your watch its fully allotted time on your wrist, rather than the superficial, ephemeral novelty of forever changing the model and never allowing these remarkable objects of desire enough time to show their true worth.
Great video! I went with the Seamaster. I made the right choice, for me - I’m going to be buying the SO also … because … it’s also the right choice. Very excited to have both of these in the collection.
You know, I do not think I have ever noticed or seen a side shot like we see at 3:00 in a comparison. Or in a watch video in general. And we can instantly see how important it is!
Side by side the Breitling looks more "playful" but on your wrist it looks serious enough and pretty damn awesome. I think you made the right choice. How do you feel about it about a year later now? Do you still have it?
I love the slightly slimmer, easily serviceable, and lighter Breitling. I purchased my 42mm Superocean on a bracelet for $2850 grey market. At that price there is nothing that competes with my Superocean.
No, that is completely incorrect. There are 4 grades of ETA movements and Breitling uses the highest which is Chronometer grade. It comes with an upgraded balance wheel Glycon instead of nickel and upgrades Anachon hair spring. Breitling also decorates the rotar and upgrades shock absorption of the movement. In addition the Chronometer ETA movement can be serviced by any watchmaker. The modified Powermatic 80 movement is based on a Basic ETA movement with less expensive parts, has no regulating screw so it either gets tossed out or needs to be returned to Swatch. So your Hamilton has a vastly cheaper made movement whose serviceability is questionable. Nothing wrong with it as it’s perfect for an entry brand like Hamilton. By the way I own a Khaki King and love it. But I also own a Breitling and can recognize that they are vastly different watches.
I hate the Seamaster’s helium escape valve. I like it because it’s actually a function of being a tool watch but at the same time look at it more for its ‘aesthetics’ since I’m never going to go diving. I suppose we can’t get Omega to adopt the Tudor BB58 approach here and segment a Pelagos vs BB58 market for Omega…
I paused the video to say thank you for pointing out the "skeletonised" sword hands on the Seamaster. As much as I admire the watch, it is THE showstopper for me, and you were the only one pointing this out in a video.
It took me a good couple of years to decide which blue diver was "the one", considering both objective and subjective pros and cons, and last week I've finally pulled the trigger on the Seamaster. The Breitling looks kinda cool but big digits on the dial are a hard deal breaker for me, in fact I am now wishing the markings on the Omega bezel were a little bit more discrete but still very happy with my purchase.
I have the Omega. The same bezel situation happened to me!! You fix it by taking it to an Omega Boutique. They will take the bezel apart and and then they will apply a special grease on the naked portion of it, reassemble the bezel and wah lah, bezel fix to perfection. Instead of the Superocean I bought the Avenger in blue dial, 43mm, on a bracelet which I completely brushed the bracelet due to its bling. I wanted the watch to look more industrial like you mentioned!! Great comparison, both outstanding watches!!
Super Ocean all the way! Very classy yet tool watch like at the same time. Not harping on OMEGA but I think it’s nice to break from the mainstream big watch brands
Love the video, as always. I have that very same Seamaster 300. I was shopping it vs. the blue Tudor Pelagos and some of your comments here applied to my decision. The Seamaster’s finishing and shine made it more flexible to me. It has the tool watch bona fides, and that’s what I use it for. But it has the premium look to be more. Agree with the other owners you spoke to. The bracelet is, at best, inelegant. It’s bulky, looks cheap (though it doesn’t feel it). The clasp is great from a feature and adjustability standpoint, but it’s also a freakin’ tombstone. Just bought that blue silicon strap with a fold-over clasp and it’s massively better.
I wouldn't say that the Bracelet looks cheap. I think it's very well made and I love the finishing. It just feels like it doesn't belong on this particular watch. It just doesn't match the case. I immediately purchased the OEM strap after buying this watch.
@@N3VURMYND I’d looking cheap and feeling cheap are two different things here. It feels very sturdy and well done. But I have a friend who wears a Citizen watch he bought at Macy’s (nothing wrong with that!) at arm’s length, that bracelet and the Seamaster one look nearly identical.
I bought the Superocean early this year and wore it all summer, awesome watch and super comfortable. But about a week ago I traded it in for a blue SMP. Wears the same but in the end the Omega give me the right feeling 😊
@@nicholassmith1240 I sold my black dial SMP to buy the chrome dial version. I eventually sold this and bought the SO 42 with white dial on rubber. I then sold this to buy the SO 42 black dial on bracelet. Still have my Superocean and absolutely love it and plan to get either the orange or blue dial in the future. But now I'm adding the blue dial SMP on rubber to my collection. Such is the life of a serial flipper!
Thank you for mentioning the difficulty in turning the Sea Master bezel. It’s my biggest complaint against an otherwise beautifully designed time piece
You’re spot on about the hands on the Omega. I have the same issue with the Aqua Terra I just bought. (Buyers remorse? Yep) The minute hand is only lumed on the tip so when it is on top of the lumed indices it is hard to see. The hour hand has very little lume and fades quickly. Come on Omega. I do have a Superocean II and the lume is excellent. And my ETA movement gets +2 s/d. I wanted a do all watch with the Aqua Terra like an Explorer, but the lack of lume on the hands just kills that. So I would never buy the Seamaster in this video.
I like that people are coming around to Breitling again I think more interest in other brands is good for the industry. You get more cool designs and see people enjoy them out in the wild.
Informative, educational, entertaining, and your sense of humor is a fricken riot. This one is a prime example why your vids are a must watch. Which watch would I prefer? UGH! Don't ask.....
I like the superocean more overall, but if that was the Bond Seamaster for similar price you know what I would choose. Also the seamaster has the best hands on a watch there is.
FYI, if you're doing water sports like jet skiing or water skiing or anything at speed in the water, you will need 200M of water resistance because water resistance is measured in still water and the motion you make in water creates more pressure. Thus you can be 5-10 feet in water but have the pressure of that of 150m of still water.
Great video, compliments. I owned so much diver watches in my life, and finally there are two in stock, the Tudor BB58 blue and the Breitling Superocean 42 black on rubber. I love them. Such a great watch.
I'd love to see a video from you on the Omega Seamaster 300 (not "Professional). It has the superior calibre 8912 with twin barrels and a timezone function; no He escape valve; and a bezel that you can actually turn! Maybe a blue versus black comparison? * manages not to ask wrist size again *
For me it’s also very important how the watch makes me feel. When I’m looking down my wrist on my Tudor Pelagos (ETA) I feel like a space marine. That’s priceless.
3:34 water resistance of 300m does not mean that you can dive 300m with it. The real limits are only a fraction of the stated value because the pressure on the watch is not only increased by deepth but also by the movement of the wrist against the water. With a 50m rated watch you cant even go swimming.
What an outstanding comparison! Probably the most detailed comparison I’ve seen for these two watches. Kudos to you sir and I prefer the omega in this comparison
If you go with the Nekton SMP I feel like the bezel complaints are fairly negated. Just use the raised markers on the titanium bezel insert as grip for your fingers.
Awesome and fun video rewiew. I just got myself the white dial Seamaster 300m on the black rubber and man I love it. I might eventually get the blue Super Ocean. Both fantastic watches 🙂
The problem with the Seamaster is that the bracelet is just hideous and not very comortable. So you can basically only wear it on the rubber strap. Which cheapens the watch imho. Also, it has become a dress watch with a tooly character. Just too much bling, which actually gets boring. I've owned the blue version on bracelet as my first luxury watch. But sold it and bought an Aqua Terra. And tomorrow I'm getting the Superocean 42.
I had the same dilemma... In my opinion the Seamaster is worth the extra. Ceramic bezel, in house metas movement, resistant to magnetic fields. The Seamaster feels like a higher quality piece. In person I wasn't feeling the Bezel on the Breitling, and I wasn't in love with the packaging either (I know most people won't care) 5 year warranty as well on the Omega and the AD really rolled out the red carpet, the Bretling AD was very average to be honest Forgot to add, I was looking at both on a rubber strap, the Breitling was lovely and felt is less stiff than the Omega
Firstly I own the Seamaster with green dial and bracelet. I have contemplated getting this watch for over two years and when the green dial came out I finally parted with my hard earned cash. I compared the watch to other dive watches that I could actually go into a shop and buy (that took Rolex out of the equation). So I will be honest and say the SO didn't make my list, it came down to Omega vs Tudor and you know which one won. One of the points I would like to make is that you stated that the Seamaster lost 2 second per day, if this is the case then it would not have passed a master chronometer certification which is 0 to +5 seconds a day, my Seamaster is running at +1 second a day. About the movements in these watches, the 300 is a in house 8800 master chronometer, the SO is based on the ETA 2824-2 which is a good movement but not as good as the 8800 Omega which will have way longer service periods and better accuracy. Secondly about the bezel, I just don't have a problem turning it, yes it is probably not as functional as a coin type bezel, but it turns perfectly well. You called the seamaster a piece of jewellery and the SO a tool watch, the thing is the 300 is just finished better but is still a GADO watch and I wear it daily. As for 500m vs 300m, I don't believe any serious diver relies on a dive watch today, they use dive computers and no dive watch really needs a helium escape valve, no saturation diver is using a watch. I am going to Egypt in December and I will use my watch for snorkling and some Scuba dives and in the pool, the priorty feature of the watch will be to accurately tell me when the buffet is open. But seriously I choose the 300 because of the movement, ceramic dial and bezel, the viewable caseback, the finishing and overall look of the watch. I'm glad you like the SO it is a nice looking watch and at the end of the day it is all down to personal taste.
I think you made the right choice with the Breitling, for variety in the collection l. If I had your Ploprof, when would I ever want to downshift to the SMP?
You definetely made the right choice. Breitling is better because of it's kinda simplicity and clarity... almost minimalism, compared to former models from Grenchen.
Something people miss is that if you're diving, you don't want a bezel easy to turn once it's set. Sure it's not ideal but it won't move if you bump it. I give the edge Omega all day long but I'm a movement nerd over just looks.
Great Choice I just added the Black Dial SO42 next to my 216570 Polar. I don’t like anything about this omega, the Seamaster Heritage on the other hand is a work of art. But big price difference vs Breitling 3K USD on bracelet pre owned. In the end watch fam get the watch that’s going to make you smile the most
I burst out laughing at your closing comment - ugh, how true. I was wearing the white dial Seamaster while watching this and that would still be my preference (although I wasn't comparing these two watches when I bought the Omega). By the way, I have no problem with the bracelet - even fell asleep wearing it the other night...apparently because it's so comfortable I forgot to take it off when I went to bed.
I give the Breitling bracelet a really high mark. Very comfortable imo and the slanted links look very rugged and original.

I went for the same SMP and still love it months later. The bracelet has grown on me and I actually where it on the bracelet more than a rubber strap.
I wish Omega came out with the old 2254.50.00 without the helium escape valve-I’d buy it.
Exactly. Omega needs to get rid of that archaic helium escape valve growing from the side of their cases. Exact reason I never owned a PO.
I know same here. I've passed over this otherwise really appealing model just because of that. Looks like a wart to me and is utterly useless. I get that it's been a part of the 90's "look" for a while now, but at least provide an option without and just see how it sells.
The omegas adjustable clasp is huge advantage over the Breitling so if i bought the B it would be on rubber
I honestly really like the Breitling. Both are great watches for sure.
my son just got the Omega with a stainless band last month.
100x a day. Tickled me that 😁
I love the Seamaster's aesthetic, but the difficulty in turning that bezel makes it borderline unusable.
I believe you have made a good decision,I like the Breitling much more,Congrats and enjoy it in good health.
5:40 The Omega is also Metas certified, that includes 0 to +5 sec a day. If it doesn't - get it fixed @ omega. Like i did.
And great taste in watches!
subscribed, hope the content quality remains consistent even 30 years from now on.
This hobby will have killed me long before then.
Well done! I prefer (and own) the Seamaster SMP, but you can’t go wrong with either!
Great comparison and love the little quips you throw in! Hilariously well done
How long have you had the SMP? I had one before and i loved it, but it lost its charm after some months. Dont really know why. Ended up getting a Yachty 40 Rhodium instead.
@@dangerpowers5939 ive had my black on steel for over 3 yrs. Love everything about it
@@dangerpowers5939 I’ve had one for almost 3 yrs - first the chrome dial, now the Tokyo Olympics white dial SMP. Tokyo white dial version is so legible. It’s fits my 7.5” very well.
Both are stunning. I would have went with the Omega, but that Breitling is a stunner
I've owned both watches and the Breitling does wear better with the down-turned lugs in my opinion. Great video as always!
Have you gotten your hands on the superocean heritage yet? Definitely on the more bling side but stands out in a world of submariner clones.
@@alexannear628 thanks - great points, great advice. It looks like the turtle will be on my wrist soon......then who knows?👍
Agreed! That movement crushes the competition
Love the objective opinion. Sarcasm also appreciated. I use my pip for my egg cooker with no audible alert which I don’t cook underwater either! You’re my new favorite watch reviewer! Thank you
Great video. Good choice. I own both a Breitling and Omega and I’d say between the two I’d chose the Breitling.
Aaahhh... your reviews are just a pleasure to watch!
👏👏👏
I agree mostly. I have owned the 42 superocean and it’s a great watch. Not that keen on the numbers but the lume is great.
My understanding is that the bezel is harder rubber as it can blemish and mark like it’s predecessor although it’s more durable I think. I never would say it’s steel.
Breitling, number one!👍👍👍
The moment the Seamaster releases a version with tapered bracelet 🔥🔥 they just did it for the speedmaster so there is hope 🤞🏼
I find if you push/pull on the top surface of the Seamaster bezel rather than trying to grip the sides, it turns pretty easily.
Agreed, that's what I do and no issues unless my hands are slippery.
I own both watches (SO 42mm blue and the new Seaweed), in the few days of ownership I'm leaning a bit more towards the Omega
Great comparison! Really like them both in many ways but hate the helium escape valve on the omega!
I love the slightly slimmer, easily serviceable, and lighter Breitling. I purchased my 42mm Superocean on a bracelet for $2850 grey market. At that price there is nothing that competes with my Superocean.
Great watch for that price. B
Every review I’ve seen of the watch points them out and most people hate them.
@@Sandouras I've been watching the wrong videos then haha.
Agree. Ugliest things in the watch world.
Love your tongue and cheek review style, refreshing is an understatement!
Thanks
Despite some of its flaws, I think you got a great watch.
👍
Funny I did the exact opposite. Sold my blue SMP 300 and got a white SO 42.
I bought the Omega. I have a rubber strap as well, the steel bracelet wasn't very pretty.
Thank you for mentioning the difficulty in turning the Sea Master bezel. It’s my biggest complaint against an otherwise beautifully designed time piece
Honestly has to be my favorite review I’ve ever watched. 10/10 would watch again.
Thanks!
@@YoureTerrific PS What's your wrist size in inches? I'm kidding dont block me!🤪
BANNED!
I like the superocean more overall, but if that was the Bond Seamaster for similar price you know what I would choose. Also the seamaster has the best hands on a watch there is.
I’m sorry, say what about Omega hands?? 😂
@@redcapote4760 the OMEGA SEAMASTER HAS THE BEST HANDS ON A WATCH.
Love your style of presenting. Keep doing more videos 👍
Omega for me for the lack of numbers on the dial. Cleaner look
omega looks stunning in terms of design and color.
Any chance to see a Sinn watch review from you soon?
I had never cared about Breitling. Then I saw the Superocean 42 in the white dial.
Now I’m torn between that or the Omega Seamaster 300 white dial.
Another nice one Evan. By far my favorite closing of yours to end the video!
The truth hits hard.
@@YoureTerrific and you’re a brave soul to admit it.
Love this. Breitling will be my next acquisition. I already have an Omega SM Chrono...can't wait to get the B!
That theory has been debunked. www.mrporter.com/en-us/journal/watches/dive-watches-water-resistant-explained-1327000
What an outstanding comparison! Probably the most detailed comparison I’ve seen for these two watches. Kudos to you sir and I prefer the omega in this comparison
Thanks
In person I wasn't feeling the Bezel on the Breitling, and I wasn't in love with the packaging either (I know most people won't care)
5 year warranty as well on the Omega and the AD really rolled out the red carpet, the Bretling AD was very average to be honest
Forgot to add, I was looking at both on a rubber strap, the Breitling was lovely and felt is less stiff than the Omega
Out of these 2 I would choose the Omega. Personally, I have purchased the Breitling Superocean 44mm Yellow dial and will never regret it.
Came here for the superocean review, subscribed because of your're funny man! Thanks
Yes! Steak grilling time is the only time I use my dive watch bezel ! How did you know?
Awesome and very entertaining review, as always! I totally agree with the Superocean choice. Cheers
Thanks
Interesting point
Yep. SO looks great. Great choice. Cheers
You definetely made the right choice. Breitling is better because of it's kinda simplicity and clarity... almost minimalism, compared to former models from Grenchen.
That Seamaster needs sending back to Omega for time setting. Running at 2 secs slow per day is out of specification.
I like the Breitling more. Do not care for the skeleton hands on the Omega. But i would still be thrilled to own either one.
Something people miss is that if you're diving, you don't want a bezel easy to turn once it's set. Sure it's not ideal but it won't move if you bump it. I give the edge Omega all day long but I'm a movement nerd over just looks.
The older Superocean had the rubber bezel insert ..
On own the Omega Seamaster 300. I love it. Both watches are beautiful timepieces. I may also own the Breitling someday.
