    Dude! This is a life saver! Been struggling with virtual cables and stuff to get the audio from the guests.
    I'm find Zoom to be plain and I usually go live using OBS. Trying to master OBS for a live show that I have but now in Taiwan Covid has finally arrived so have been going remote has been a struggle. It's really a different game.
    I bought a lifetime to Restream way back and I love using that. I never experimented with that live studio but now because of this video. I'll be able to get the production quality back yo wear I want it to be. Many thanx. And I'm saving this one to refer to over and over. Love OBS and Restream.
    Tieing them together is so clutch!
    Thanx again!
    Seriously, the best OBS tutorials around for livestreaming!

    Hi. This was very helpful Thank you so much. I tried this today between Japan & Indonesia. I had a weird delay sound like our voices and music came back less than a second later and mixed into the audio. I'm hoping to do a live music show. Do you know what might be causing it? I'm using my MacBook Pro, Steinberg U44R audio interface that my condensor mic and keyboard are connected to. The funny thing is it does the exact same thing on both ends. I cut all the reverbs and stuff and it still happens. Not sure if you're checking comments, but Î thought I'd give it a shot.

    • @MichaelFeyrerJr
      @MichaelFeyrerJr  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      There will always be a slight delay on the monitor due to encoding. As long as it looks and sounds good an is in sync it should be fine. It makes it tougher to listen to the monitor output while streaming which is why a producer is always a good thing if you can manage it.

    2 questions: 1) I've seen your old video about zoom but is there a new and simple way to use zoom for multiple guests? I paid for a license so I would rather use Zoom to get my money's worth before I consider using Skype or Restream. 2) On Restream, what to do the guests see? For example, if a guest is presenting a slideshow on a separate monitor/guest account, would they be able to see what is being shown on stream so they can request a slide change?

    If you are using the chrome browser you could also juse jitsi with a nifty plugin called Pop-out Jitsi Meet. You get the same kind of versatility with positioning your guests in OBS like Skype, but aren't tied to its inferior audio codec, as you can pop out every guest and record that window separately. Bit of a hassle, but worth it in my opinion.

    Using your guest count of 3 people example.. Would it be possible to to do "nested scene"? Meaning, have EACH guest (most likely cropped) in their own scene AND THEN create another scene (maybe titled "Group") and then bring the 3 guest + myself into that Group scene?

  • @slygamer01
    @slygamer01 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    You didn't mention the major drawback of using Skype NDI, and that is every guest NDI feed has the audio from all guests mixed into it, AT DIFFERENT SYNC. The audio from guest 1 has the audio from guests 2 and 3 mixed into it. The audio from guest 2 has guests 1 and 3 mixed into it. This makes audio impossible to get right. You can see this in your video at 5:46 where Jelly and Joe audio is showing the same levels, but they're not speaking. Michael is.

    Great video, uninstalling skype was brutal, I've never seen such trickery. The only way I can see to do it if you have an office account, is to go into the office folder, change the ownership of the folder to a user, then delete anything that matches with a search on 'lync'. There isn't any way to remove it in the programs, and clicking uninstall from start menu does nothing.

    I get echo on my stream. I guess because my mic picks up my speakers. Can my listeners listen to Skype caller without echo (and I don’t have to wear headphones)?

    • @MichaelFeyrerJr
      @MichaelFeyrerJr  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Headphones are something you need when you have a guest until there is quality noise cancellation built into obs. At the moment you need the headphones.

    Your tips are always very usefull. Did you ever try to run this first method on 2 machines connected via NDI? Skype with guests running on one and streaming tasks with OBS on another laptop to share the load. I have to because of OBS & Skype & other stuff running on my laptop is to much for the cpu. I tried hard but failed. Any idea to let this work?

    • @UdoSchloegl
      @UdoSchloegl 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good news Michael. Problem solved! All works fine now. Simple switched the tasks between both machines. Don’t think complicated, is the solution.

    Not sure if it’s been answered but what happens if someone drops out or closes zoom and then comes back, do you have to choose it or is it smart enough that it can work out the same window

    Have you ever done an OBS.ninja review? It allows you to add guest directly to OBS, similar to the NDI tool with skype.

    I have a question tho.
    What if I add a guest from Zoom and want to pictures as a slide show on Obs. How does he see what I share on Obs?

    • @MichaelFeyrerJr
      @MichaelFeyrerJr  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The easiest way is to share the slide dock with your guest and just mention the page when you turn so they can follow along with their copy.

    Just what I needed! Thank you! I have a question. Which way should I use if a do music streamings? I will be singing with my guest so the signal shouldn't have any delay so we are able to sing together :) Thank you !

    • @MichaelFeyrerJr
      @MichaelFeyrerJr  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As long as it’s together on your end it will synch with the delay on the viewers end. But there will always be a delay between when you speak and your guest hears you and the other way around. That’s the problem you will run into.
      Unfortunately internet connections aren’t instant.

    The NDI Audio will take the WHOLE output from Skype for all speakers in every and each audio source. NDI only splits video not audio as far as my experience with it goes.

    Only downside is Skype goes out of sync. Is there any suggestion on how to prevent this?

    • @MichaelFeyrerJr
      @MichaelFeyrerJr  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Stronger equipment. If it’s out of sync it’s either the connection is struggling or the equipment is not encoding fast enough.

    • @caperdoodle
      @caperdoodle 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MichaelFeyrerJr It goes in sync towards the start of the stream then comes to like a second off delay after like an hour of streaming
