WE DID NOT INTEND FOR THE VIDEO TO END THIS WAY!!!
We were hoping to come back with a VQ35 swapped S13 240sx but the test drive did not go as planned. The car obviously had more problems than just the ignition switch. We are not trying to blackmail or embarrass this "mechanic who does this for a living". We just want to inform the public to be careful when buying a car from a private seller because some of them are shady.
The deposit was for him to hold the car and to work on it since he said the build was not finished and not running properly. After depositing the money, he said the car would be ready and reliable in 1 week. He kept lagging and pushing the date back till about 1 month later (when previous video was filmed). We were expecting a running/reliable car since he took so long but that was not the case
We will keep you guys updated.

not sure how old you guys are, but in many states, a minor may retract their contract (your $1000 deposit) no matter the damage before maturity or any time reasonable after mayurity. so it does not matter if he put that money into making the car "run." you can get that money back if the person who deposited that money was under 18. it also does not matter that you told the guy to keep the money on video, because being a minor trumps that. i just saw many cooments of implying you guys are "kids" and figured i should throw in a word.

I know Im a little late but its a deposit for a reason, even though that car is shit. Mr."Learn" over there maybe had to turn down offers or take it off the market for him. But it is a big amount for a deposit, a good deposit should be like 500. But the buyer handled it decently, he lost his cool which is reasonable and walked away.

Stephen C. Same here. No start conditions are relatively simple to diagnose, even on ecu controlled cars. The one thing to remember is that if you have fuel/air, spark, and compression, you have fire. So even if it's some obscure sensor, the end result is that it's going to change whether you have one of those three things.
corvettels9 yep, i learned the basics from my old man, when I was in highschool my dad and I started up a lt1 Camaro with just a rag soaked in gas, when it started up and idled fine for a few seconds my dad made his offer to the guy selling it.
SKS vs BLM Actually, the accessory contact will not power the fuel pump. If that was the case, every time you turned to accessory to listen to the radio or drop the windows, the pump would prime. Now, if you were talking about the "ON" position, that would be correct, because that is when the pump primes. But when the starter is cranking, 12v is still being supplied to the pump because you need continuous flow especially on a fuel injected car. 60 psi or the bitch won't run. That's also why engines flood if they're cranking but not starting for an extended period of time.

Some cars have an "learning ignitioncurves", But it shuld run on an lower ignition timeing and not run bad ,
And the cars i have seen thats have it it doesnt take that long for it to adapt. The reason for this feature is that the car can make diffrent ignitiontimeings after how u drive.
Pretty much all electronic computer cars have a fuel trim learn system that compensates for fuel quality and minor mechanical wear to keep the air to fuel ratio stable.
Disconnecting the ECU will cause the ECU memory to be wiped out and have to "re-learn" the fuel trims.
Some manuals even tell you to drive steady and easy till the fuel trims are learned which takes a few miles depending on the driving.
However, all the things that the car was doing that the seller said was due to the "learning" is complete BS, as you will barely notice a different when the car is "learning". It was a *huge* red flag from the start and both the kids knew it.

Anytime I go somewhere to look at a used car and the seller tries to hop in and drive it instead of offering to let me drive it so I can get a feel of everything for myself..or never stops talking, those are big red flags in my book from experience and at that point it’s probably just going to continue to go downhill from there.
His constant talking and bs was the give away, plus the fact that it's a manual transmission so there is no such thing as learning for it, even learning on an auto doesn't make it grind, synchro is likely gone or something else fairly serious. I sometimes won't let someone test drive until I have the money and they've insured it as effectively because if they crash its your insurance on the line and lots of test drivers aren't going to buy your car regardless, they're just testing cars.
