How do you get parts for a 1997 Williams?

Who is this "Craig" and how does he get to drive such fantastic and wonderful racing cars?

By the sounds of it, the Renault engine is still in situ which is great :) Is he deliberately going easy on the gearbox? Sounds like a lot of the changes are early.

@dave41184 - Just a guess, but F1 engines rev very quickly so there's no need to hold gears longer than they do.

Short shifting to get more mileage out of engine. At several hundred thousand dollars per rebuild, they want it to last. He's probably only hitting 15,000 rpm tops.

      I am 95% sure it's a 4 litre Judd V-10 in there.

@@ProfessorIgor For the Benettons still running and some of the Jordan cars too I would agree. Williams F1 Heritage runs their cars with the original Renault V10s.

@@dave41184 yep, but almost all privately owned F1 cars, other than a couple Ferrari's, use the Judd V10. The in house cars use the period correct engines. There are 3 1990's spec F1 cars that regularly run at Road America, this is one of them.. The other two are also 1997's. A Bennetton and a Jordan that are owned by the same guy. They're all sick-fast too.. LOL

That's awesome I wish he did have to worry about crashing because the car could probably put in like a 1:25 -1:30 (lap time)

In forza you can get mid 1:30s at best

Track record was 1999 with the old Indy Cart Series 1.38 was his time..Franchini in his 2nd year I think was the driver. It was COOL team Cosworth. They were extremely fast on quick circuits like this. They were 1000 to 1200 HP. They kept HP under wraps
though. They say the special secret Indy Mercedes in 1998 was 1400 BHP V12. It won Indy easy. They changed the rules since then.

Was that Villeneuve or Frentzens car ?

I’m assuming it’s Frentzen’s car cause Jacques’ is probably at the team museum.
