Yo, you guys probably don't care, but I am proud to annouce that I just managed to watch a full 1 hour long let's play of a horror game without looking away, scrolling down, looking for a jumpscare list or whatever for the first time. I'm 19 years old and shouldn't be this proud of it, but holy hell I am. Thanks for being so fun to watch, Sean!

As a heart transplant patient myself, I wanted to say the kidneys are a lot of times needed pre or post cardiac transplant because the meds for heart transplantation can lead to extreme kidney failure. So although this predates common cardiac transplant and it might've been unknown at the time, that could have been implemented in the game.

They CAN be used, but most likely won't be because of the damage our other organs have received from our meds. Including frozen kidneys. If that's what you're asking. Lol

Native Russian speaker here, I haven’t finished watching gameplay yet but at 38:25 the crossed out word is “suka” - bitch. And eventually it’s known that all the notes are written by children - they misspell lots of words and some letters written in opposite ways like “E” became “3”, “Я” was “R” and etc. Such an amazing detail. Also, some furniture from the game reminded me my own kindergarten but in a good way lol. Thank you Sean for an amazing play!
I don't speak Russian but I did recognize that word lol. I wish I understood more from the writings in the game, the English translations were not very good and unintentionally funny at some points. It seems the story actually was good but I don't really understand it all.
If others didn't catch on, her son died in 1950. The event happened in 1958. Aka she went crazy and was trying to find donors for a son who was already 8 years deceased. The story is really interesting actually. Seems like Yakov had guilt about hiding rather than warning his friends, so when they were hurt and he wasn't, he spent the rest of his life in that building with them, protecting them and their home, and terrified of being accused of hurting said friends. (Aka the ghosts.) The ending was very heartwarming actually. Good game, although Sean likely missing a ton of the scares due to him looking in all the corners very closely (which I adore honestly, it's just how he plays things) was very funny. A good thing for devs to take note of, you want things to be obvious enough that people at least catch the scare before it disappears 9/10 times, while not making it so obvious it's cheesy or ridiculous or expected. It's a fine line to toe, and I think they did okay, but maybe having the direction the camera is focused on matter more might be helpful. Much like the scare from the drippies, where you look up and it hits, that worked well! I'm not a game dev though, so take all of that with a grain of salt. Actually really enjoyed that. :) (Corrected pronouns for Yakov, mb!)

It breaks the tension. I used to read Wikipedia articles about the plots of scary movies, but was so curious about the plot. Now I listen to a podcast called "Too Scary, Didn't Watch". I absolutely do not enjoy jump scares.

Jack's a fan of urban exploration confirmed. Abandoned places are really fascinating to me too both in real life and in games. This game has great atmosphere.

Hearing Sean saying "no TH-cam channel is worth it" just reminds me of a movie I watched few days ago. I think Sean would enjoy it. It's called Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum and it's a Korean horror movie,the premise is quite similar and it's shot as a found footage (kind of) a group of people are going to an asylum because one of them wants to get 1 mil views for his live about this place. Anyways it kind of reminded me that,especially that when I was watching it I thought that it's not worth it just to get views. I love watching Sean playing horror games so I hope he keeps blessing us with more of them!

Sometimes I wonder if all we'd need to do is fix up the places that are haunted to appease the ghosts. They're always haunting the most messy places, no wonder they're upset. It'd make an interesting game, anyway.
This game deserves more praise, it's sad that a lot of people bought it and then refunded on steam because it's short, the Dev quit making games after that... I played it on stream about a year ago and it was every bit as good as Jack shows it to be

Every time the “I need my Russian to English dictionary” prompt comes up, I’m like “No, I don’t”. And the translation is a bit janky, admittedly, but I’m glad to see a local game be recognized outside of the country.
Not sure if this is something that would be helpful for you, but there are stuffed animals made to be like heating pads (filled with whatever it is that goes into heating pads- beads of something i think?) and you can sprinkle a tiny bit of water on them and microwave them for twenty seconds or so to heat them up. I have one that smells like lavender and I used to hug it when I had really bad cramps, not only because the heat helped but also because the smell was comforting and it was nice to hold something soft to distract from the pain. It’s not a perfect remedy but it was helpful for me alongside Midol (especially when I had just taken Midol and then was waiting for it to kick in). Maybe it could help you? There are 2 more games in the series before this called Locked Up and Find Yourself. Those take place in the houses it talks about at the beginning. Locked Up is pretty crazy. And then a sequel before the one you played but after this called From Day To Day.

If anyone is still interested... Pioneers were USSR's take on scouts. In fact, people who invented the Pioneer movement in 1910-1920s were shamelessly ripping the scout movement that was gaining popularity in the US at the time. The same distinction from non-pioneers (wearing similar triangular neckties, called Pioneer Tie in USSR, spending summers in summer camps only pioneers were able to attend, the achievement system, etc), and of course they were used to indoctrinate kids to the country's ideology, EXACTLY like Scout movement works. The only difference I can see is that Pioneers didn't have a separation into boyscouts/girlscouts, they were mixed up pretty evenly. The game itself takes place in an abandoned Pioneer Camp where Something Bad happened in the past (like oh so many summer camp stories from around the world) but with USSR flavour that makes it more horror-like for some but nostalgic to others (my father went to one of these and had GREAT fun there...)
At the start of night 2 the text at the bottom said "the clocks stopped at 3:07". In the conjuring the clocks also stopped at 3:07 so I think that might have been a conjuring reference

Every time Jack mentions the player character by name I feel like he's talking exclusively to me and it simultaneously makes me happy and freaks me out, since I'm mostly listening to this video while doing other things and hearing "IT'S ABOUT TO GET SPOOKY ALEX" out of nowhere makes me do a double take
Hearing Sean saying "no TH-cam channel is worth it" just reminds me of a movie I watched few days ago. I think Sean would enjoy it. It's called Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum and it's a Korean horror movie,the premise is quite similar and it's shot as a found footage (kind of) a group of people are going to an asylum because one of them wants to get 1 mil views for his live about this place. Anyways it kind of reminded me that,especially that when I was watching it I thought that it's not worth it just to get views. I love watching Sean playing horror games so I hope he keeps blessing us with more of them!

Sometimes I wonder if all we'd need to do is fix up the places that are haunted to appease the ghosts. They're always haunting the most messy places, no wonder they're upset. It'd make an interesting game, anyway.

This game deserves more praise, it's sad that a lot of people bought it and then refunded on steam because it's short, the Dev quit making games after that... I played it on stream about a year ago and it was every bit as good as Jack shows it to be

Not sure if this is something that would be helpful for you, but there are stuffed animals made to be like heating pads (filled with whatever it is that goes into heating pads- beads of something i think?) and you can sprinkle a tiny bit of water on them and microwave them for twenty seconds or so to heat them up. I have one that smells like lavender and I used to hug it when I had really bad cramps, not only because the heat helped but also because the smell was comforting and it was nice to hold something soft to distract from the pain. It’s not a perfect remedy but it was helpful for me alongside Midol (especially when I had just taken Midol and then was waiting for it to kick in). Maybe it could help you? Wishing you all the best and I hope the pain gets better quickly
There are 2 more games in the series before this called Locked Up and Find Yourself. Those take place in the houses it talks about at the beginning. Locked Up is pretty crazy. And then a sequel before the one you played but after this called From Day To Day.
He actually played locked up a couple of years ago. Probably forgot about it though.

If anyone is still interested... Pioneers were USSR's take on scouts. In fact, people who invented the Pioneer movement in 1910-1920s were shamelessly ripping the scout movement that was gaining popularity in the US at the time. The same distinction from non-pioneers (wearing similar triangular neckties, called Pioneer Tie in USSR, spending summers in summer camps only pioneers were able to attend, the achievement system, etc), and of course they were used to indoctrinate kids to the country's ideology, EXACTLY like Scout movement works. The only difference I can see is that Pioneers didn't have a separation into boyscouts/girlscouts, they were mixed up pretty evenly. The game itself takes place in an abandoned Pioneer Camp where Something Bad happened in the past (like oh so many summer camp stories from around the world) but with USSR flavour that makes it more horror-like for some but nostalgic to others (my father went to one of these and had GREAT fun there...)
