The big swing with axe you saw and talked about around 4:00 is the final hits of invincible gambit in Rise, which is also just a lunging form of the finisher slam in axe mode from a wild swing combo. The counter is not like frontier's which was a straight block, it is unique. HOWEVER, ARE WE SERIOUSLY GOING TO IGNORE THAT FRONTIER'S ENERGY BLADE SWITCH AXE IS SEEMINGLY BACK
Imagine if they had given Switch Axe the extreme style run where it drags the Sword Mode across the floor? I’m not dissatisfied at all, it looks beautiful, but sometimes it’s fun to imagine the potential what ifs. Who knew that it only took Wilds getting more information that it made me want to play Monster Hunter again? Haha.
The Switch Axe (and Lance) was my most anticipated release of all weapons because I love the idea of using different stances. I didn’t play Rise enough to get a feel of the basics and how they updated it but they apparently made both Axe and Sword synergise a bit more. The idea of countering like we do with Longsword’s Foresight Slash can be interesting and add some flavor. The morphing and different shapes of the weapons alone make me want to use the Switch Axe, and I believe they can be a work of art.
Not related to swagaxe but when bow drops, I really hope they give us an alternate long ranged version of power shot, maybe a little less damage and no spread but more consistent when running the non close range coatings
the counter is a variation of the one from sunbreak where you have to predict the move to counter, It probably got added because it was super popular and I don't think it has anything to do with frontier. Also the flip attack is the final 2 moves of the invincible gambit silk spike from rise.
we saw so many frontier inspiried moves. First the block is something from frontier and in that game gives you light sword guage but here could just give you sword guage. Then later in the video there is an axe swing that to me looks like the unsiethed run in frontier that doesnt consume stamina but sword guage. And lastly, in the end that flurry of attacks, if you look closely the sword is exttended throu the red aura and the copium is real here ,but ,i believe we got the light sword and it basically is more damage and more range.
that definitely feels like a guard point just like in Frontier, its very fast but it looks like he does this from neutral, so definitely no stance like in sunbreak thank gog
The attack you didn't know was final gambit from Rise, it just doesn't have a wirebug now. It has the exact same animation, now the question is whether or not it kept its hyper armor from Rise.
I doubt it is a counter actually - if you look at the effect very closely it doesn't match up with any visual or sound effect used for counters across other weapons, which are mostly white body/shield flashes and gold sparks - it also has a rocksteady sound very low in the mix. Special hyper armor maybe? perhaps unique to swaxe since it doesn't appear anywhere else?

4:05 looks like a toned down Element Burst Counter from Sunbreak. 4:15 is Invincible Gambit ftom Rise

you can expect something dope
They definitely cooked this time for Bow 👀
@@dralakba-dusk31 seeing how long they waited to show us I sure hope so😂

I have to say, if Capcom rescues the combo customisation from Rise it would be neat

Light Saber mode acrivate!
4:12 that move is the silkbind attack invincible gambit no?
Yeah my initial reaction was that as well but it just looks different I think??
Thats exactly what I thought it was.
@@TeraRyza it does look a bit different to be fair
@@TeraRyza the only difference is the start up, if you put the attacks side by side they are exactly the same.
@TeraRyza it's exactly the same as gambit in rise
for the counter, based on how the hunter snaps into the animation of the attack afterwards, it looks like it is a counter and not a guard point
morphing guard point for SA sounds very appealing to me cuz it's so much more accessible than counter

They are definitely using some of the moves from rise
Hmm, anyone ever tell you you sound a bit like the voice actor for Goku from DBZ?😅
Oof, thought you would have reactions to other weapons rip. Swax looks cool here, that lightsaber attack is nuts whatever it is
MORE FUCKING POWER A MF GAURD POINT LETS GOOOOOO
Male armor set = One Winged Angel has entered the chat
Is that ice SWAX?
