This video is worth simply by virtue of that Thor bit from Aladdin and the 40 Thieves alone.
What's the Attraction? - The Inside of one of the sound stages at the Hollywood Pictures Backlot will be turned into an actual Sakaarian Gladiatorial Arena where real families can fight to decide whose child is more deserving to meet the Princesses or who is more entitled to skip the line and not wait for anything. An animatronic Jeff Goldblum will act as Judge. Armor and Weapons can be rented for a nominal fee.

It was SO MUCH FUN! The first act was a bit of a letdown, with a really weak send-off for Odin and the Warriors 3, but the adventure, the visuals, the music, the characters, and the jokes were all so freggin good that I can forgive it that. Two thumbs up!
I'd actually knock "2008 Incredible Hulk" off that list, simply because none of it (outside of "Thunderbolt Ross") is actually necessary viewing as far as the MCU's story. Too, I think the Hulk is better served as a character w/ a certain bit of mystery to him.
Also, the Edward Norton casting can be distracting.
SonofMrPeanut It might not be necessary, but I personally love it for how it handles Banner's personal arc with the Hulk. He starts off fighting against it, which makes Hulk an uncontrollable monster. But as he goes through the film and begins to understand Hulk more he realizes that the Hulk isn't a separate entity he can expunge, but a part of himself that he must learn to control. Once he stops fighting the Hulk and starts working with it, the two are able to stop Abomination with limited collateral damage. This is part of what makes the "I'm always angry" scene from Avengers so great, it builds off of that character growth.
That is a nice touch to the arc. I just ultimately prefer for Banner to have a more mysterious past as far as the MCU, but that is an excellent point.
Plot Twist: There is no Soul Stone, so Thanos gets to be Tan-os. He just got back from the Bahamas.
Ever since Civl War I've subscribed to the theory that the Soul Stone is a family heirloom in Black Panther, granting them the ability to access the afterlife and communicate w/ past Kings (aka Black Panthers). Heirloom starts w/ H.

Oh my goddess, I can't believe that you referenced Dogma. I actually started watching it soon finishing this video. This has been the first view in years, definitely this decade, but I remember it as being so different - I guess I can blame that to reading the script before the movie came out and that making a bigger impression on me.
Well, some unexpected but very welcome faces here.
Gotta say it’s really weird to be on the lower end of the spectrum in enjoying an MCU movie. With the exception of Ant-Man and The Dark World, every movie of theirs from Avengers on has just been cranking out instant favorite after instant favorite, and this one just didn’t resonate with me the way I hoped it would. Thor’s own arc could’ve used some more focus.
Yay the Dom! I hope a crossover between him and Tony happens at some point.

Oh, this video was a joy to watch! Thank you! I'm glad you liked the movie as much as I did.
This felt like two movies at once. The movie where Thor is the star of "Gladiator...In Space!" was excellent, but the half where Hela, who is all style and little substance, takes over Asgard with conveniently over-powered abilities, eh it could have been work-shopped a bit.
But what was good was really good; the creativity was gushing off the screen when it worked.
I thought of Spaceship Earth too.
Thor: Ragnarok was the most fun I had watching a Marvel movie.
On the Surface: This is a hilarous good time.
Actually Think About What Happens: One of the most dire plots in an MCU movie.
I love that stuff, honestly. Also why I get miffed at the "MCU is just jokes!!" people. There IS funny stuff, but there's also some damn serious stuff going on. More or less, the MCU films have heart to 'em.
TheCursereaper I think that's less a comment on the MCU not doing that but rather on what the MCU does particularly well. The humor is what sticks out.
I bet the Soul Stone's in Heimdal's eyes. That would explain why he has the power to see all living beings at all times and why he's currently off doing his own thing. I didn't realize the T.H.A.N.O.S. thing until you brought it up.

I will not take this slander of the first THOR. I would fight a bilgesnipe to defend it. Second one can take its chances though. I'd've enjoyed this review more if there hadn't been so much slagging off of the other films, because it adds negativity to an otherwise fun hangout. Still, loved the film, always a pleasure to hear your jokes and thoughts, Tony!

Unfortunate news regarding MCU Matt Damon: He died in Infinity War.
It was confirmed by the Russo Bros. that Asgardian/Sakaarian refugees did manage to escape during the opening, but they didn't clarify if he died either then or during "The Snap." Either way, we won't be seeing Matt Damon co-starring with Trevor Slattery in a Caged Heat reboot anytime soon.
My main take-away from all this is that Dom hasn't seen Fraggle Rock, and I hope that gets fixed soon.

The Soul Stone is in the HEAD of Adam Warlock (at least, in the comics).
But it was confirmed by James Gunn that he won't appear until Vol 3.
So hey, Tony, I think you should check out Tom Scott's recent video on driving while filming. You're likely to be quite a bit more distracted than you think you are while you're filming those pre-movie segments, and I don't want you to get hurt.

Okay, follow-up post-Infinity War: I assumed she would be playing the role of Death in the MCU, whose importance in the Infinity Gauntlet was stated in the Infinity War One Movie Later. Since she isn't, then my above statement no longer applies. That said, there is still one more Avengers movie to go this phase...

I like that vid, but Ragnarok doesn't really have bathos in the same way. The humour underlines a definitive point the scenes are trying to make, rather than undercut. Watch Taika's other films, it's a very Maori sense of humour.

It's one good Hulk movie and another run of the mil Thor movie smashed together. I would be fine with this if we weren't forced to go back to the Thor movie. I swear, those parts are just as bad as The Dark World.
