Just beat the story the other night. Took me 93 hours, now sitting at 100 hours still completing end game side quests. Amazing game. Still have the brand new epilogue and newgame+ to go through. Well worth it

I was in the same boat. I didn't have a Wii back in the day, but was very curious about Xenoblade. I picked up the Switch version recently and have blasted through around 55 hours so far. It lives up to every bit of the hype IMO. It's probably my favourite game that I've played in the last 10 years, so I'd say absolutely get it!

I still find it amazing that this has been squished in a small cartridge and playable on the 3DS. I love the 3DS version and my progress on the switch version was on hold because of how convenient bringing around a 3DS was compared to a switch.

I beat this game about a week ago, and I'm still thinking about it-- It's an absolutely fantastic game
In my opinion, that's the mark of a good game, and especially an impactful story. Xenoblade Chronicles, both 1 and 2, are games I beat for the first time years ago (both beat soon after their launch), and I still think about them both sometimes, but XC1 has stuck with me for 10 years. The story is still one of the like...5 video games that has ever made me actually cry. It's in my list of games I always recommend to people for a wonderful experience. It was so ambitious for its time. Like... An open world, 60-hour JRPG on the Wii? Who else would have thought to create such a thing? Just the world building alone warrants a playthrough.
@@inaraoftyria3878 Absolutely agree. I was kind of late to the Xenoblade party (XC2 was my first game in the series), but it's truly something special
Should I buy it? I only played the Wii U version and a bit a little bit of the 3ds one but I'm thinking of getting it on switch.
@@coolchannelize15 I really enjoyed Xenoblade-- if you played a bit of the 3DS version, you're getting a prettier, more refined version of that (with some added content).
My only two real complaints are: the story pacing (no spoilers, but the game started to drag in the middle before everything got cranked to 11 in the last stretch of the game), and the difficulty (there's some pretty big difficulty spikes on certain bosses, one in particular near the end made me switch to easy mode)
I usually have a hard time recommending the Xenoblade games to people because the combat seems to be a love-it or hate-it kind of thing, but if you played X and some of the 3DS version, you should already have a pretty good idea if you're going to like it.
TLDR, if you already like the basic combat, and have the time and money, I'd say go for it

Absolutely worth full price. The additional DLC story was also amazing. I enjoyed this game so much, it prompted me to dust down my Wii U and replay Xenoblade Chronicles X. This definitive version is a 10/10 game all day long.
I miss Xenoblade Chronicles X so much! I should also dust down my Wii U and play it again soon. OR: Maybe that also gets ported/remade to the Switch, who knows?
Game is so good it made me buy a brand new copy of X for $50. Can't wait to dive into another Xenoblade Chronicles game
@@ircha I know that this doesn't always mean it's a definite no, but the series producer has been asked about a Switch port of Chronicles X a few times and he's said it's very unlikely to happen due to financial constraints. I hope it does come to Switch too, but wouldn't get your hopes up.
@@Saiyan0805 me too! I've still not finished XBC:DE, but I've been enjoying it so much I ordered XBC 2, Torna, and XBC:X to fill the void when I complete it :')

First time I played xenoblade(3ds) it took me a whole year just to finish the main game even though I played it nearly every day. Didn't regret it.

This is my first xenoblade game I have played. So I’m completely new to the series and I can’t wait to play it today. I have been watching loads of reviews .
I watched your vid before finally buying it today. I like your review because it’s to the point and simple. It’s my first time playing Zenoblade saga and it gave me the vibe of Final Fantasy and Breath of the Wild (but to be honest, the graphic needs to be improved alot). Cheers from Australia

Great review, I was able to get the collector's edition one day after the game launched so I feel lucky. When this first came out on the Wii I went through a lot to get a copy, have the 3ds version also

Amazing game, trying for 100% completion right now. I picked it up on the wi-u for dirt cheap and fell in love with it, can't believe I missed out on the wii. Shulk is my favourite but I love playing everybody, Ricki's special to steal items is especially helpful.

Love the Xenoblade series ... finished this on the Switch a few weeks back. The biggest improvement compared to the Wii and 3DS versions is in the UI - so much easier tracking quests, NPCs etc.

Great review! I’ve been curious about this game, and it looks like a really good game, but just too “long” and “open” for me. I have BotW and I’ve been overwhelmed with that already(not gonna lie, I play it on the “side” of my other games, since its such a long game. I like my games to be 20-25 hours not 100+). I wish there was a similar game that was “shorter” but ik that wouldn’t be fair to people who like long games, which are not as plentiful from what I’ve seen.

I've played 55 hours so far and I have loved every second of it. I think if you enjoy anything like: Star Ocean, Tales Of, Rogue Galaxy, etc then you'll enjoy Xenoblade.

Oh wow I haven't played or owned Xenoblade Chronicles yet but after seeing the video I may purchase the game because it looks so fun and has fun moments when you play the game like the soundtrack. Yes this game is huge, the graphics is outstanding and I like how you can level up to become more powerful because the game gets difficult when you reach to end and you need more power. Also I like how there are lots of characters and that makes the gameplay more interesting and fun. I don't have a Nintendo Switch but I do have a 3ds and a Wii so maybe I will purchase it for them but I'm not sure if Nintendo make Wii and 3ds games anymore so there's that. Yes I agree that the game is 9.5 out of 10 because it has good graphics and has interesting but fun levels to play on and much more. I'm going to recommend your videos to my Family and Friends because your content is outstanding and cosy to watch. I could have more to say but I don't want to type too much but I want to say is Keep it up Ircha and always remember to keep it up and to not ever give up. :)

One of the reasons why I want to get a Switch, is to play this game! I didn't know that it plays similar to mmos, but that makes it even more appealing to me. If the gameplay is not action oriented, I think that playing the holy trinity (tank, healer, dps) is a great idea, if executed properly of course. The last game I played that had a similar approach to gameplay was Final Fantasy XII. And the character customisation looks really good, which is kinda surprising for a jrpg. Great review btw. Makes me wanna buy the Switch right now. 😁

I have 95h playing this, and not even finished the main story. Loving it absolutely, Dragon Quest XI and this one are my current favourite games. And believe me, I've been playing videogames since the original NES (Famicom) this is insane.
Never had a Wii to play this before but I bought this when the New 3DS came. Could not bear with t he jaggy graphics and did not finish it, now buying it on release day for the switch, it was a breath of fresh air! Great review!

That's a cool concept that you live on a giant frozen in time. I always wanted to play it when I see the box art on the Wii because it was intriguing.
I just bought this game earlier. I never played the original or 3DS versions but I'm excited.
What do you think of the songs that got a new version for this release? I love the original soundtrack so much and was initially put off by the new song versions.
I am playing it now and have a hard time understanding where to go and knowing if I am going the right direction. How do I know that? Not used to open world games.
I remember getting a new 3ds and xenoblade strictly for the soundtrack. Game is an absolute masterpiece.

I bought xenoblade guar plains as my ring tone after I finished XC2 and while waiting for release of XCDE. I will be keeping it for a while! DE was my first play through of XC. My favourite characters to play are Dunban Reyn and Seven. Future Connected was an amazing addition. Loved the game. 10/10.

I haven't had the chance to play this game in the past generations. When I got it on Switch I couldn't play anything else in weeks, I was totally absorbed by every aspect of the game and now I think it's one of the best games I've played in my life.

Because I've barely had the chance to play it before I had to get rid of everything for cash for survival. Is this game easier to play than Xenoblade chronicles 2? Because that game is more difficult to start with because of the steep learning curve

I am wondering about frame rate issues, are there any? I’ve see so many games get good reviews and then I get frame rate issues that weren’t mentioned.

I bought this game because of you. And I don't regret it. The game is HUGE, has a fantastic would, lots of stuff to do and a great story. I didn't like the combat, but everything else is just amazing.
This is my all time favorite game. I've finished the base game twice and new game plus once. Each time I play, I still find more that I missed! The game is truly massive!

I could not get the XC2 mainly cause of the annoying map and the hard to understand combat system. I might pick up this one up but worry I will have trouble with combat again😩 Regardless, amazing review, shiny star as always and very in-depth analysis 💕
I’ve noticed that each Xenoblade entry was pretty ambitious for its respective console, excluding XBC2 due to half the team working on Zelda BOTW. It excites me to see how ambitious Monolithsoft are when they have the full team working on projects! Here’s hoping XBC3 is just as ambitious since the full Takahashi 1 team is on board with said game’s development.

I picked up this game when it first came out on the wii in 2011. After beating it, it instantly became one of my all-time favourite games. With X, 2 and Torna being released. Xenoblade has quickly become my favourite series. Out of all the games, XC1 is still my favourite and the Definitive edition made a masterpiece even better. Now we just need X on the switch.
