This music, which is the best theme EVER, is also used in the 8MM soundtrack. Pretty gritty movie and definitely worth the watch even if it's just for recognizing this theme :P
It really complements the atmosphere of a mortuary pretty well, staffed by zombies and emotionless people who believe that everyone is already dead and the multiverse is just a false shell.
This music gets you right after you started the game, catches you and sucks you into this so particular atmosphere. Gotta love Planescape Torment, can't wait for Tides of Numenara.
When I first saw Memento, I immediately thought of Planescape:Torment. An amnesiac, covered in tattoos to remind himself of who he is and what he's trying to accomplish, approached a seemingly shady character purporting to be his friend. etc etc The similarities are many. So much so that I wonder if Chris Nolan played this.
Hence, putting it at the rank of Art, as Art isn't meant to "amuse", nor "distract" nor "entertain" Yet, Torment is a game, but that you play like you read a great book or watch an awesome movie. You play it cause you must, to get the story, and eventually, you feel like you are reborn, or just awakening from *another* death.
this music is very similar to the music of fallout wastelands. as soon as i listened to this music, out of respect for fallout seris, i knew that i would love this game. and PS:T far exceeded my expectations.
The scary thing is that a place like this probably excists somewhere in the univers, scientists just found out that in theori they cannot neceserrely predict new discoveries :).
Well i didnt know about that form, but i guess theory or no theory, its what you can see for your self that matters, others can see for themself, if they say the earth is flat they are propably blindfoldet in trying to se other possibilities.
remember that you wakeup in the mortuay, you see the skull named "morte".when i listen this theme, morte appears in my mind...clakclakclak...please,PST2
I know nothing and see everything, now to change subject... If they didnt screw it up, Planescape Torment has potential in becoming the best movie ever made.
I wouldn't say so. Planescape is written up from the dirt itself to be game literature. Most of what makes it affect us only works because the choices are made by you, so you feel responsible for those choices. If it weren't a game, a lot of the dialogue and exposition would be meaningless, because as players, we are tied to the situation in a way a observer, like a person watching a movie, is not. Don't get me wrong, the subject material and setting make for good entertainment in any medium.
One of the best books I've ever played.
I'm gone. Alright. Done. Alright. I'm gone. Done. I'm gone. Alright. Done..
I've updated my journal.
I couldn't carry any more, so I had to drop it.
In 1:38 you can hear a sample used also in Fallout's soundtrack.
Wow...Never tough of that :)
Mark Morgan is a genius! :)
no shit, thought that sounded familiar!
I love this music. Its like the dead people of the mortuary are echoing and chattering all around you.
Perhaps those are the Dustmen

Planescape torment...
it sucks as a "game" yet still the best game ever...
This is just a great piece of music. I really love it

This is amazing and somehow quite scary...

I wanna talk to Dhal
I use this as my Sigil ambience music during my campaign. Fits the mood of not just the mortuary but the whole bizarre city.
Feels like I've been strained through someone's bowels.

Sadly, the Nameless One can overcome his Curse of Amnesia. Leonard Shelby from Memento can't.

you're talking about Everet's Many Worlds theory, right?
