Well, it basically was carry fangs vs some mixture of conflicting thoughts.
Thats a very good description, sems like he had an idea of what it is and wanted to try but still was in a "counter enemy" mindset
@@smovang i do that every time myself, with the same result :)
Important to note that the Crawlers with Tunneling and Replicate mentioned at 9:10 did indeed not overwhelm the Fangs with Range and Mech Rage. That's something I had to learn the hard way because I too thought they this combination should for sure beat Fangs. But it doesn't. So don't even try.
Fire good! Vulcans with fire-rockets and range works really well. And they look cool.
Stormcallers amazing: breaking fortress shields and killing everything. Mustangs with splash and range. Hackers can be fun as well.
Vertical placement is fine if that is not the first line of offence, but a backup. Add horizontal line in the front and it's fine.
The other problem with the fangs is that they are really good at fixing the top players units in place so the stormcallers do high damage even without upgrades. Oil on round 3 is good since it lasts 2 rounds and because of the unit drop on round 4. Fire is good in general and the movement beacon to distract the stormcallers. After seeing the Fangs with range, i'd get range on tarantulas. It's not a waste to commit to your anti-chaff unit on the board when the enemey commits to their chaff since both of you are spending money so there's less to kill your anti-chaff. I think the top player should have gotten crawlers and fangs as chaff with lower investment than the enemey. The goal for the early rounds would be: Tarantulas kill fangs, Marksmen kill steel balls, tarantulas die against storm callers, marksmen and storm callers have a duel. If the opponent survives with a few storm callers, that's ok. Marksmen get more range and it's only about whose board stalls the enemey side more. Any of the anti-chaff unit drops would have been pretty good here.
Well, those are my mid-MMR takes.
wow this is actually an intelligent analysis, subscribed!
Welcome aboard!
Looking forward to an analysis of the 13 round banger of a mirror match in the opening bout of last night's dev/pro final.
Yeah holy moly what a game...I'm just waiting on casters to submit their VODs and I'll post something special for that last game
The red player went into fang carry whithout having fangs in his starter pack wich is not something i would do. Also when i see balls/fangs in my opponent starter pack ( and especially when he deploy fangs vertically far forward ) i would get 2 packs of mustangs as early as round 2, probably even skipping the bonuses to be able to afford it.
ever me with 600mmr understand that saber pickwas terrible
