Best States For Roller Coasters - Part One (#50-#41)

  • Those that have known me for the last 7 years know I have, obviously, grown obsessed with roller coasters. Those than have known me for the last 25-30 years? They know I have always loved geography! Especially the unique differences and intricacies of the 50 states here in the US. Therefore, it was always inevitable that I would one day produce content combining the two. Over a series of 5 videos, join me as I rank all 50 states based on how good their specific roller coaster collection is! It for sure won't be based on quantity alone, when in actuality, there will be way more emphasis on quality. We're, of course, going to start from the bottom with this first episode, #50 through #41, and will slowly work our way up to the Top 10 over the next four episodes. Enjoy!

    Other videos or articles about "coaster states" skip over the ones with just kiddie coasters or alpine coasters...but not Coaster 365! This is the level of detail and accuracy that fans of this channel have come to expect. (Plus, I'm not worried about where my home state will rank.)

    Delaware is maybe the most extreme disparity between the dismal situation within the state borders and the bonanza outside of them. Wilmington would actually be an amazing place for a coaster enthusiast to live as long as you can manage a couple hours' drive. You've got Hersheypark, Dorney, Six Flags Great Adventure, the Jersey shore, Coney Island and Six Flags America within that orbit, and Knoebels and Kings Dominion just a little further out.

    I really wish rocky point was still around. I'm too young to have gone and only know it from the XC races there, but it would be awesome being so close to a park. It's still cool to see tho with signs showing wat was there and also still being able to see the railroad track from an old train ride that used to be there.

    Great job with this video! As a skyline enthusiast first and foremost I really appreciate the aerial shots and paused to admire a few. I'm also an older rider finding their (re)enthusiasm. I'm 42 and my coaster count is only 30 after about a 12 year hiatus, although I expect 50+ by the end of this year and avoid the kiddie/wild mouse/family/spinners, so only going for quality. I yelled myself hoarse a few weeks ago going hands-up in the back row on Wicked Cyclone which I'm sure you can appreciate! Looking forward to the rest of these! I'm guessing Massachusetts clocks in between 16-20.

    Hawaii may not have a permanent coaster, but they do have a Wisdom Jungle Twist through EK Fernandez Amusements for their carnivals...
    Also, Cowboy Coaster in Wyoming may be one of the best mountain coasters I've ridden.

    Delaware and Rhode Island would be mid-tier instead of bottom tier if you ranked them by states to live in with the most nearby coasters but being allowed to cross state lines.

    • @coaster365
      @coaster365  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You can definitely make an entirely different list based on how close you are to rides in other states (West Virginia would be the prime example of not great in-state but fantastic just outside), but in my opinion that kinda takes away from ranking the coasters specifically IN that state

      The thing to remember about PA is, it's a long state. If you live in the east, you're going great with Hershey and Dorney, but Kennywood is too far for a single-day trip, and the Ohio parks are even farther. Even Knoebels is a hike for Philly folks. And it's the same for Waldemeer from Pittsburgh.
