Its worth noting that Camden Park takes the cake for having the scariest ride I have ever rode. Their sky ride is a dilapidated junk heap with a rusted out structure, loose and stripped wiring all over, and chairs bouncing along. I will never get on that again, and I need to go back as none of their coasters were open. That is unless you count their dark ride, which I don't.
As a native Arizonan, we are so excited for Mattel to open! Especially now that construction for both coasters is mostly complete. I'm assuming you were using RCDB as your main source for this list. But technically Nevada does have a mountain coaster, up at Heavenly Mountain resort in Lake Tahoe that looks to be one of the most beautiful mountain coasters in the states. RCDB has it in California, but if you look on google maps, the coaster itself is on the Nevada side of the border! 😃
CANT WAIT for that park!! You guys deserve it! And I do use RCDB, but probably wouldn’t haven’t mentioned it regardless, Vegas was the focus to make sure each segment was around the same time
Even though I get up to Maine semi-regularly to visit my sister-in-law, I've never gotten around to visiting the two significant amusement parks in the state that are right there, and she just gave me a ticket to Funtown Splashtown for my birthday so I guess I have no excuse not to experience one of the few remaining major coasters in New England that I have not ridden. It occurs to me that just by going to the Saco/Old Orchard Beach area you could knock out 5 of the 6 coasters in the state in one afternoon. (The other one is a Wacky Worm at a zoo, if I recall correctly).
Yeah full disclosure I bit the bullet and got a Canva Pro subscription, SOOO many great royalty free videos and pictures, and they make it so easy for idiots like me to create good thumbnails 😅
I didn't comment on the first video, but love the geography series. I also like how you close the borders in determining the best coaster state. It's definitely a different take.
Excalibur is underrated, and the best laterals on any wooden I have ridden. So much better since the retracking in 2020 as well! Also, make sure you ride Atrosphere at Funtown! One of the best flat rides ever!
#36 BABBY. It is weird that the Phoenix metro area is one of the biggest / most populated in the country and our newest major coaster is Desert Storm, which is over 30 years old now. At least according to Coasterpedia, it has some of the highest G forces in the world. And I'd believe it. Those loops are tiiiiight. And weeeeeird. ALSO, we're getting a new alpine coaster soon at Sunrise, which is one of our 3 ski resorts. So we'll have 2! :D
An old coworker of mine (whom I haven't seen in a dozen years) just went to Enchanted Forest last week. It was fun learning about those coasters, the dark ride, and walk-through Haunted Mansion when I interacted with that Facebook post. I also had to do some thoosie snooping as she didn't mention the name of the park or rides in said post.
Awesome vid, this series keeps getting better and better! Also, your segue from Oregon to Maine made me laugh way harder than it should have. Thanks. PS. Go ride that CCI in Maine!!
Having grown up in the West (Let’s go Idaho!) I always find it funny how people back East find everything so isolated. I mean they definitely are, but Cliff’s, Silverwood, Lagoon, Glenwood Caverns, etc all seemed to frequently be nearby for family trips and vacations. Did all of those before anything back East cuz that’s way too far lol
That’s an interesting perspective that I never really thought of. Were those all drives or flights? I’d imagine a quick weekend flight trip out west is probably the equivalent of a 4-5hr road trip east
@@coaster365 All drives, I never did flights til I was almost out of high school. I think we are just used to going long ways when you live in the open West. Wild I've gone to a bunch of these isolated places but missing a ton of huge parks in the East that are very commonly visited amongst enthusiasts and maybe never get to cuz get this - to me they're SO isolated!
8:05 that was my comment 😂 I love it lol. Funny enough, the Oregon State Fair has had a permanent Zyklon/Galaxi roller coaster (Arctic Blast) since 2016 and it has only recently been added to RCDB. I believe only 4 fairs in the U.S. currently have permanent coasters and OR and WA are 2 of them!
@@coaster365 I think the old Canobie Corkscrew was for a few years a permanent state-fair coaster in Alabama (in between its days as the "Chicago Loop" and its residency at Canobie).
@@coaster365 hard to say I feel like I'd have to ride it EDIT: The answer is no, there are plenty of shuttle coasters that have the same section as big timber log ride and those are credits so I don't get why it's excluded
So I have the New Mexico Rattler credit, the Desperado credit, and Speed credit. New Mexico Rattler needs a retrack bad and that park had some of the worst operations around. Makes Europe checking restraints look good. I found Desperado to be good, but I like the Mamba's, Steel Force's and Magnum's. It isn't on their level but I would put it ahead of Wild Thing. And yes I have the Speed credit from the Sahara. Wish that one was still around.
Nice! I thought Desperado was definitely a bit rough when I rode it like 20 years ago, but nothing to prevent marathoning it. Did you alos manage to get the High Roller Coaster credit, from the top of the Stratosphere?
despite living in a very remote area having no close parks and having funtown be one of the closest parks to me, I have never made the trip there, which is really weird, though I have plans to get there this year
U can also do smokey mountain NP and dollywood in the same day. I wouldn't want to cause if I'm going to dollywood my ass is there from park open to park close...but ya could! 😊
If u wanted u could also pair death valley and Vegas. To me still more of a full trip pairing (this was my 40th birthday trip) then a day pairing but it is doable.

Oh good lord 🫣, it’s giving Conneaut Lake vibes honestly lol
11:57 you can do great smokies and Dollywood in the same day, Coastoons said in his silver dollar city vs Dollywood video that he did that
Omg that’s true…even I’ve done that 🤦♂️ Probably forgot because I just consider Dollywood to basically be a PART of GSM’s 😂

That mountain coaster invert thing actually looks fun because of the swinging
RIGHT?! And apparently it’s a shooter too?! 🤯
I love this! This is interesting stuff.
Really great work! This is a terrific series
Thank you so much!!!

Very true!! And yes, still need Excalibur here too 😅
I was wondering about the establishing shots for each state. Most of those look amazing! I'm glad you explained it.

Appreciate that Dan!! Yeah I just feel how can you credit/penalize a specific state’s coasters based on stuff…not in that state?

I’ve heard good things!! I’ll have to get there this summer
Doing the Lord's work with that tweet Oaks.
I could see both parks dueling Os. Each just keeps adding Os messing with the alphabetization.

Las Vegas needs more roller coasters!
Absolutely!! Would love a 2nd indoor park
You aren’t kidding about Maine, it’s by far the most naturally beautiful state I’ve been too (I haven’t been anywhere out west or Alaska & Hawaii)
