I really love heavy weapons ... tbf i love ALL WEAPONS, but this list was a tough one with many GREAT choices, what would you have picked?
Thanks for the great video. 👍 Good Job. I mostly agree with you on your list but have to mention the gauss Minigun ammo is pretty heavy and the plasmacasters accuracy is pretty bad. Your 100% correct on the LMG, absolutely awesome gun and you rightly mentioned the ammo problem...most other folks leave that critical info out of their videos. I still think the cremator should be on the list based on its DOT factor but yeah I see your reasons why you didn't add it. Keep up the great work. Thanks dude.👌
Good points, although i never feel the accuracy issue with the caster but mabye ive just used it so much i naturally ccompensate and i do manually aim it like 95% of the time. As for the cremator the 3 mentions were All almost on the list it was a tough choice based on what i thought works in ... well all situations instead of having more specific strengths, the cremators one of the best mob weps in the game now but its lack of immediate burst, and reliance on which can be see as a bug? to do insane dps just dident warrant its inclusion in the top 5 ... dont get me wrong i think its better than most people think without the cheese but still.

any heavy with faster fire rate and less vats AP cost legendary effects. they work VERY well on most heavy weapons. using heavies in VATs results in greater ammo efficiency too.
The holy fire also has the cursed effect
Didn't mention Holy Fire's (hidden) 'cursed' and unique attributes:
Cursed:[1] +15% damage, +20% faster attack speed, -4 durability.
Additional effect: 18 fire damage over 3 seconds (normal is 9/3sec).
It's not about holy fire! It's about the weapon type!

I think the most overlooked/underrated Heavy guns is the Ultracite Gatling Laser. With the power user perk, you get 999 shots per fusion core, it is deadly accurate with the stabilized perk, has really good durability and its damage is similar to the Gauss Minigun. It’s my go-to general use weapon.
Alot of the laser weapons were buffed as i left the game so ill need to test them out
@@DadPlaysStuff it’s definitely worth a try, to me it performs like an LMG without any of the downsides. The weapon is very strong in the sense that it has no big weaknesses.
Yes! Same here! Not to mention one of the capacitors add a fire dot, which shreds in Atlantic City AND you can heal allies with friendly fire with it. Best for good damage and overall utility
Lowkey only reason im not using one is because of my grounded mutation even with the one perk that brings down to -13% still weaker then my other guns.

The Gauss mini is my favorite gun in the game, with the plasma caster a close second
Good old plasma gatling laser never fails me, mine is bloodied, 25% more damage while aiming and stealth for 2 seconds on hit, average enemies take about 480 per shot and scorch beast queen takes about 48 damage per shot, with cards i got 999 per plasma core so my gun breaks at least 3 or 4 times a fight with her lol

The plasma caster does have a mind of it own in vats.
But there is a way to mitigate that, stacking perception can removes up to 80% of the defect,
I recommend 30+ You can get there easily with sweetwater tea which give you 15 perception.
And unyielding which give you another 15 perception. Or get 15 perception from the perk card tree.
Finally someone who knows something lol plasma caster is insane with the right perk cards. I was able to get mine to an insane 410 / 410

No joke, I've seen 6 different videos on YT bout this and this video is by far the best! Not only is the vibe cozy but the info is just golden. Good list, great tips on how to get gear early game and showing late game versions just makes me want to grind so much more. Thank you man!

Flamers are silence heavy weapons as well
I use 50 cal mainly. My only issue with energy heavy weps, is they break way too fast , now you can add gunsmith and luck of the draw to help but thats extra perk points . Probably the only reason i dont use heavy energy on a daily basis .
Honestly im really liking the Gatling Laser. it might not be that great against things that have energy resist, but if you slap the charging barrels on, in first person there seems to be a bug where the weapon fires a short burst of high RoF before going to its normal speed. if you can time releasing and pressing the trigger either right before or right as a laser is being fired, it will repeat that burst. you can chain this up infinitely and it increases the RoF to like... Half of non Charging Barrel Gat. AA would be amazing on it ngl and with my more tanky PA build, i will kill things well before they can kill me.
Tho to be fair, my true current fav is Minigun Shredder with Basher perk and Stabilized. thats all you really need to make the weapon melt normal mobs. my go to Westek weapon. I did like 3 full runs of Westek and it only took like 25% durability off. Add the PA arm mods that decrease AP cost for Power Attacks and you can have it going for quite some time
I find sometimes its not about whats optimised... its about what you enjoy the most :D my top 5 arent the same as yours so you do you bud !!
I roll out with a fully pimped 2-Shot or Anti-Armor Explosive Gatling Gun. If precision isn't needed, the ability to spray easy-to-find lead downrange is hard to beat.
Its honestly one of my most used and favorite weapons, but when it comes to taking down the big targets it isnt quite there against the other choices ... still by far my go to for just chilling out and gunning down legendaries.
Gatling Plasma is a great weapon indeed. With faster fire rate legendary it shreds. It generates a lot of nuclear material, so with the ammosmith perk it is easy to maintain the ammmo. I also want to give a shout out to the Ultracite Gatling laser. With a charging barrel and faster fire rate legendary it is brutal. Add power user to the mix and you do not need another weapon.
Heavy has alot of fun choices :)

The plasma caster near single handedly revitalized 76 for me. It’s not that I don’t like the game, I’ve been playing on and off since day one, it’s just that nothing was drawing me in to play the game every day consistently. But then I remembered I had the plasma caster plans- man is this gun fun and it just looks D O P E! I’m not a massive fan of the plasma rifles even though I love them as an idea I just never could get over the look, and that’s where the caster got me cause it’s my favorite type of gun and it just looks dope doing it

The bloodied cremator and vampire holy fire are unmatched 👌

That’s the combo I run.
I run this combo as well. The Cremator is quite ammo efficient, and lets me farm fuel with it.
In a pinch, the holy fire keeps me alive. I have actually solo'ed Alien Invasion because of it, though I still lost due to time constraint.
Still, you can combine the two. Land the first shot with the Cremator, then immediately switch to holy fire to add on top of the Cremator's DOT damage.

Dps wise a bloodied holy fire does the most damage in the game with the right set up but you ain’t gonna get all that life gain from it which honestly is just nice. That being said it doesn’t mean that’s what everyone’s gonna use, everyone’s gonna find the heavy or normal weapon that’ll fit their unique build. For me it’s a plasma caster I like the damage and esthetics of one

So I want to ask this here to help get an understanding.
The ultracite gatling laser wasn't mentioned at all on this list which makes me sad, but also worries me. I'm currently using one I got off a legendary scorch beast a short while back and it's definitely my favorite weapon thus far. But despite having 999 shots with perks, and me trying to kit it out best I can at the moment. I'm actually starting to have ammo troubles since yesterday. I want to know if it's only good for mid game, or if I'm just not using it right. Thoughts?
ammos easy enough to craft, but you can farm it using Expos or dops, essentially go through with any wep and swap to the laser at the end for 4 cores :D

Got my self an AAE25 LMG and I don’t seem to have issues with ammo, if anything I get more than I spend.
Heavy weapons imo are the hardest to say which is the best. Every other type of weapon only has 2 or 3 that are obviously the best, but with heavies, you could probably make a solid case for almost a dozen different weapons being the best...
I'm curious what enemy glow mod you use. It looks really nice! I tried one before but it was an esp one which just felt dirty. So I don't use one at all now.

What do you think about Miniguns (especially the Foundation`s Vengeance)? I left my Heavy Weapons quite some time ago, when Ammo was much more of a problem then it is nowadays but i always loved my Mini and after i saw this thing a few days ago.. looks like a good way to make those Wasteland-Heretics more "hole-y"

I got an AA, 25% aim and 50% break slow Gat plasma and its nutty balls. It quickly became my favorite gun. I pair that with my Grand Finale broadsider(because its fun) and im a one man wrecking crew

My holy fire is my right hand but I love love my anti armor LMG and The Final Word
I like the cannon ( pirate one that throw steel balls) with tripple canon and double shots 25 per cent; is just amazing one shot or two shots mutant with a explosive build

Ammos not something I worry too much about with the gun but I will do at some point :)
Flamer and plasma caster for range are my main guns. Shredder for fun and melting anyone griefing shooting at me for no reason.
My only issue with the Gauss Minigun is the AOE effect makes it a bit distracting and seizure inducing in tight areas like the Earle Williams fight.
Now that i can agree with it flashbangs me at close range lol
I use bloodied lmg with explosive damage while using demolition expert and grenadier. One of my top 3 weapons
Got the troubleshooters Gatling plasma and it just absolutely erases bots and sentries for me which I always struggled against
Sentry bots aim for the Fusion core ... makes them insta explode most of the time.
I pair the Gatling plasma with 3 max level heavy weapons perks to do 60% more damage clocking out at 93
Damage per shot
The Napalmer Vaporizer has the absolute best dps. The problem is you have to be in melee range and it has hit reg problems. The Gat plas is 2nd. Guass mini 3rd. Its not the most dps but my 2 favorite guns for all around use are UGL and Quad LMG.
Im suprised the peppershaker didnt make the list since heavy gunner and shotgun cards work with it and its really devastating with the strangle heart cause the acid damage per pellet and ammo easy to get
Honestly, a big factor is being able to pick something up and use it the situation your describing needs alot of setup to make work including having the plan or finding one to buy. For some people that won't be easy.
holy fire is good but you dont get enough fuel to always use it. I love the Plasma Caster cause its essentially a sniper that with unlimited ammo. Gatling Plasma is really good it just sucks that u cant switch out your armor fusion core aslong as the weapon is freshly reloaded. Idk why that is but its a simple fix just shoot once and done

Absolutely love my PlasmaGat with my biggest gripe being its incredible lack of durability… pop on weapon artisan before repairing to combat this

I put my gauss mini gun in my stash. It just doesn’t compete with Gatling plasma or .50. The lmg is my all time favorite with anti armor, fire rate.

Use the plasma caster without power armor and in vats with a crit build. Bloodied +50% crit damage is by far the best roll. Same with cremator. Crit build in vats
ill try that at some point, but i prefer freehanding her :)
Finally someone who knows what a real gun is, there’s many different types and styles you can play but for sure plasma caster with the right build should of been way higher, at least in my opinion. I feel like opinions change once you see a better gun, so until I do my bloodied crit caster will be one of the best I got at 410 / 410

Caster for EDC and Cremator for bosses using the cycling technique
For me, as someone who doesn't normally run heavy guns, cremator and flamer top the list. Flamer is what I use for events where 90% of people who show up don't know what "friendly fire is" and we'll loose if someone doesn't keep the workers, or the cows, or your mom alive. It lets me get a decent number of tags in radiation rumble, even if it's not AS good as tesla, while not swapping out every five seconds to heal some idiot.
But the cremator is... Amazingly fun. It's become my go to "running around solo doing events" weapon. It's absolutely insane against any group of normal mobs, it doesn't care what your VATS chance is, if it's above a 10% hit chance, it will kill that mob with splash damage, which means I can stand at the top of a building in the middle of an event zone and rain down hell on every single mob around me. And if you want to make up for the slightly lower damage...slot two. Or three. Or four. Fill your quick wheel if you want, and the burn damage will stack. You can get, hands down, some of the absolutely most INSANE DPS as a dot using multiple cremator.
We all have our favs and issue with the cremator dot stack is that its technically X amount of weps :P not just one so its unfair to rate a group against a solo xD but i agree both of them slap.
2 shot auto grenade launcher, instigating (or w/e) basic rocket launcher, Holy Fire, (sadly don’t have cremator :(. ), and a plasma castor is my dream loadout.
Need cremator and plasma castor. Then I’m set. Obviously lots and lots of grenades. I only care about explosives and fire. But the plasma castor should work pretty well for those few things I can’t deal do with just my auto nade launcher and flamnwerfer
13:45 the thing that kills the gatling plasma for me is its poor durability, i do a run thru westek with it repaired to 200% and it breaks just before the elevator

Yes it boosts the damage and the dots damage
It’s great but expect to dump ammo as its 10 fuel per shot, one trick to help this is go into a expedition under the one for billy beltbuckle I believe his name was, look for the objective where he wants you to collect trash, don’t. Stay there next to the trash cars, and enemies will spawn in about every 30 - 45 seconds. It’s a great way for many types of ammo, also a trick is if you don’t see the trash trucks in front of where you meet billy, leave and start a new expedition until you do. Hope this helps

I feel you on the rolls got close to 2k hours on 76 and just never got any good rolls barely any XD
Gatling plasma is the best, BUT... after one clip of ammo crumbles like glass. The best weapons are those you see often in game and used by high level players. You barely see a Gauss mini for example, check what they are using and go for it. In my opinion the holy fire with Bloodied legendary prefix is the best heavy weapon in the game. Easy to farm ammo, similar damage vs the Gatling plasma, but does not break that fast.
You can fix the breaking issue with gunsmith
Gauss Minigun embodies the "It costs $400,000 to fire this weapon... for 12 seconds..."
Gotta spend money to make money.
Doesn't plasma gatling break easily? Or am i just unlucky. Biggest reason i stopped using it.
Its fire rate is insane so its more likley to break than something with a slow one, but i wouldent say it breaks easily, Id suggest equiping gunsmith while using it to help.
@@DadPlaysStuffonly have 6 in int atm, for stablized and nerd rage. Cant afford the 5 points for gs. Although currently working on the strength and int legendary perks. To free up perk points, so hopefully ill find room
i mean its not a 100% needed thing but it certainly helps.
Hi, heavy gun user here. The Gatling plasma breaks more often than others but getting repair kits from scorch beast queen event is so easy and it takes a few button clicks to repair it with a kit.
Plasma caster 🔥 amazing gun I can casually 10 shot regular level 75 scorch beasts

Get bloodied crit caster, takes about 3 or 4 shots for me to kill any scorch beast I usually solo the queen been doing it since 7o76 came out and before there was a limitation on furious weapons properly. Use to be before a level 45 1 star furious mr handy buzz blade could eat away the queens health in no time at all, some really good days for farming

@@chargerfan1713 Its the same as any bloodied build the PA is similar except you cant get the unyeilding effect on it so the usual choice is Overeaters.

Cremator dots stack. I use 5 and is melts all enemy’s. Clear number 1
Seen the argument before hard disagree, I'm not comparing 5 creamators to 1 other gun. Especially since I expect bethesda to patch it out.

Stack 6-7 Cremators and melt any boss (gets over 2000 dps). Especially on Earl it is great for both the boss and carpet bomb all the Wendigos.
@@DadPlaysStuff It takes a little less than 2 seconds to switch, so 6 is likely optimal, for 60 fuel you do damage equal to fully buffed commando, without caring too much for buffs, unyielding, crits an so on. Don't even need "god" rolls for the weapons.
It might not be the best setup, but it is way easier to acquire and more convenient to use.

I can tell while well versed in the game over all the creator doesn't main heavy weapons from this list. The Gatling plasma lacks accuracy and has very slow moving projectiles makings it inferior at range. It doesn't deserve the top spot.
i use all weapon types and Plasma gat works just fine at range ... extreme range? most weapons dont work unless in vats

The LMG has the highest DPS I think unless that got nerfed and I didn't realize it. It's incredibly stable and easy to aim with almost no recoil.
Anti-armor is the best effect on a heavy gun. Two shot is only a 25% DPS increase. It's very meh imo.
Best weapon imo:
LMG Prime Receiver
50% ArmPen
20% Explosive Damage/25% Damage while aiming
15% Reload Speed
I currently have that and it rips everything apart insanely fast. It has insane aiming accuracy for a heavy gun with a hire fire rate. Ammo is easy to farm if you make a Hunting Rifle prime receiver load out.
I agree the LMG has insane dps, but i stand by the ammo being a massive downside, and if it requires another gun to farm its ammo ... the other options here win by default. Regardless i still love the weapon but id like to use it instead of running out of ammo all the time.
If you actually loot the corpses for contextual ammo drop you should not have ammo issues with AAE LMG. Most enemies will die with one burst as long as you get a few head shots in. The occasional Daily Ops and Expeditions will also leave you with more than enough ammo. I can't remember the last time I needed to craft Ultracite .308. Just try not to use it on anything that doesn't die within a minute.
Would a quad explosive be good vs an anti armor?

You’re not taking anything out with a .50cal at long distance. The spread is just too great and at range the damage numbers drop significantly.
Sounds like a skill issue, my final word is accurate up to 30 or 40 yards easy

My vloody explosive gatlin gun does 1500 damage a shot on scorched beast queen. Idk what ur talking about when it comes to no damage on bosses 😂😂😂😂

I'm not gonna lie the minigun literally saves my life like I've gotten out of situations because of it and the gun will end up breaking but it did it's job
Foundations vengeance obtained by the eviction notice event is okay, but in general miniguns are hard to pull off because of such low dps, find a bloodied or two shot Gatling gun instead hopefully with either crit damage, ffr, or explosive all should be fine for awhile, does much more damage even if it is slower and still under the same ammo type.
