Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
The best way to get to know these machines is everytime you switch it off at night turn everything to zero or off, you'll be amazed that every time you have to switch it on and reset everything you will get to know this machine like the back of your hand in no time

I've always been a fan of synth music but never produced any or had knowledge that something like the Poly D existed. My 11 year old son has shared my energy as I'm finding more and more Poly D content, and "he" will be getting one for an early Christmas present. He is undergoing major knee surgery and the Poly will be a great escape for him during recovery.

This is by far the best examples I've come across.
The sound is incredible. It has body and soul to it.
I think the best time that I've ever had listened to musicians is when they are just dabbling not so much when they're playing any songs nor compositions not even practicing just losing their mind for a little while letting us hear what they are feeling at the time the word of the day is moot rocks

First i want to say that you made a great rewiew,..the most demos are 303 schelshy and they can´t get that timbre one can expect from this type of Moogish style beauty :) I once owned a real Model D from 1978 and lost it in a tragic happening, cried for 23 yrs until i got the Poly D and it sounds soo good that i never think about The Minimoog ;D Thanks for a super demo

@@Dartagnan65I did the same and they work pretty much the same way on the Poly D. It really gets crazily close to a Minimoog.

im not a synth guy, can barely play anything on piano but im a guitarist who has been playing for 15+ years and i also play bass, drums and other string instruments and i’ve got to say! this shit is real good! i can tell by your ear for sounds, and also other comments from other synth guys! this is amazing! was looking to buy a synth and you’ve convinced me! this is a great video dude! keep up the good work and take care in theese hard times (and never stop practicing!!)

@@jonathanfrieze8497 yes, I bought one, hated it, sold it and then I bought a Moog sub25, I still enjoy using the latter. I highly recommend you trying an instrument before buying it, I just couldn’t vibe with the Poly D.
@@El_MVRK hey sorry i didnt see your reply i aooreciate that more than you can know alot of people wouldnt have taken the time to answer and your opinion will carry alot of weight thinking of just cutting the chase and get a top tier polybrute or maybe the deepmind 12 ive been very curious aboit it as well been looking at them for a while i just have a miniogue and some vst but i come from. being a guitar player drummer organ grew up on that pedal steel my true favorite you have fun with your stuff i hope youve been able to be crative and write your own music again thanks for that reply
Curious to know what specifically you were not a fan of about the poly d? Like to know as much as possible about something before i buy it.
until now ive never seen anyone really jam on this. been wanting it forever. this sold me. im so glad they lowered the price. the doctors of craigslist have been trying to get double the old price. nice to see them shut down.
As this video shows, the good sounds are available to EVERYONE. This video has good ideas. So, we all can "sound" wonderful, but it is IDEAS [ good ideas] that make the difference. A fully serviced 1970s built Mini Moog Model D can sound like CRAP in a mix. Conversely, a Poly D can be PURE MAGIC in the hands of an artist.
Great walk-through, got me really stoked! Your video tipped me over the edge. I’m into modular, but wanted a straight vintage style Mini after I lost my Moog Opus 3 many years ago. Great job!

The Original Patch was made on a Arturia Mini V, basically the plugin version of the Moog Model D, or as you see the Poly D.

Thanks for this Luke - will be picking up an as new one of these in near future, and super excited to try out some of these patch settings! It sounds such a capable synth - pretty much a mini moog and a bit more.....but on a practical note, where you are changing the sound 'on the fly', how do you remember the settings? Do you use a crib sheet, or is all this memorised?
Weird that you never changed the amount of oscillators or any wave forms for any of these patches??

I was trying to figure out the Thriller bass with iOS moog. I might be wrong but I think the its more of a retrigger situation on the original? This one sounds very legato or in general less aggressive. Either a retrigger with some healthy glide or legato with less glide?

The Poly D was going for $500 during black Friday....and I did not buy. I hope I did the right thing, I am regretting my decision however. Someone tell me how bad this synth is so I can feel better :)
