Our modern generations know that truth but they want to find out where this people originated before settling in Southern Africa.
Unfortunately our elders don't have the answers therefore our youth should research by studying culture, migration patterns,DNA and language to establish the true history of the origin of Tswana and the Nguni.

The Nguni are actually quite well researched. They originate from east of the central Congo Basin. Close to the big lakes. Led by Mnguni with three main tribes, the AbaseMbo(MboNguni), Ntungwa(NtungwaNguni) and Lala(amaLalaNguni). Crossed the Zambezi with rafts called isilulu (ukwehla ngesilulu) close to the end of the height of the Swahili trade coast. The ThongaNguni also joined the Nguni when Mnguni arrived in Southern Africa. Then from there gave birth to the founder of the Xhosa kingdom who latee left to establish his own kingdom further south. Whilst Luzumana was left to rule. The rest is history.

@@kusaselihlengubane8984 I hear what you saying. What does Nguni mean? Why was the tribe separated to mbo, lala, ntungwa? What is the meaning of the classification?

@Cypher-bo3pb The Nguni are a group of bantu peoples named after Mnguni (as was tradition or trend back then) around the 1400s. The Ntungwa, Lala, Mbo (abaseMbo) and later Thonga(Tsonga) are groups that were led by Mnguni or were ruled by Mnguni. They later broke apart when he passed away. This is found in the kings lists or clan names of the Zulus.

Apparently they were not even brothers. The information was lost somewhere. From Kgosi Malope, there is Queen Mohurutshe, then Mohurutshe a nna le Koena, Rolong, Kgatla. From Koena ,from Koena there is bakwena boo Mogopa, Bakwena ba Leboa, Bakwena ba Botswana. Then the ngwaketse & Ngwato will later come from the Bakwena ba Botswana. The Ngwaketse & Ngwato come way back after the Kwena dynasty was formed.

I knew Tswana was sesotho coz it's very similar to sotho even by words than spedi. Funny thing is South Africa was once called Jerusalem back in the 1400s then later was changed to British Rhodesia. Namibia was called Barsheba/Beersheba was a biblical location mentioned in the bible.
Xhosa's were called "Yadea le Yashapa" coz they consisted of 2-3 times merged together after white people colonized South Africa. Basotho are the tribe of Leyato which in latin is Levite but white people started calling us Basuto coz of our skin color was Brown.
Xhosas were given that name after white people grouped Yadea and Yashapa together in Northern Cape at an area which was originally called Saxon but was later on other maps called Xosa then. The captives were then designated the name Xhosa after the place they were kept at. Yadea in dutch is Judea as well as Yashapa in Dutch is Josheph. White people really messed us up jst as God said they would.
That's how Xhosa were then called Xhosa in the 1700s coz if u go further back in books that were banned in south africa, they mostly talk about the tribes by their original names. Shona people are the tribe of Kishona which is the tribe of Izzacha which is written as Issachar in the bible (Josh 21:28). White people removed the "Ki" part from the Shona to add to the confushion.
I've been making search of our past and made breakthroughs. South Africa not only it was once called Jerusalem but the entire land of Sub-sahara was called Shembe Land but was later changed in the 1800s to Sub-saharah

I grew up in the Northern Cape, which was inhabited by Tswana and the original bushmen.
The xhosa's were coming down the coast from KZN and settled in the Eastern Cape.

This is about the Kwena dynasty not Tswana dynasty. Bakwena are Batswana but not all Batswana are Bakwena. This is half bake research story that is an insult to Batswana. Sometimes Botswanans thinks they are the true representation of Setswana which is far from the truth. Please read Origins of the Tswana by L. Ngcongco. Historic writing from most of South African University libraries. You can find those libraries online
