This is how comparison reviewers should be done. Clear concise information. Didn’t waste time with a stupid rambling intro with irrelevant information. Other reviewers should take note on how a great review is done. Thanks guys. You guys are now my first stop if I need a review for a vacuum.
I bought the S7 maxV after seeing your first review of it and I'm still very impressed by its performance. There is a thick big rug in my home with short sturdy hairs which the S7 has no problem in handling in combination with my hard floors. The mop lifting feature alone, given that you have 'compatible' rugs, is a big win for the S7. Sometimes I just stare at it when it's cleaning the house or I watch the video feed on my phone. It's just fascinating to see how it intelligently navigates around, avoiding and taking pics of obstacles on the floor. It's simply amazing to me how far these things have come. If this thing can last me a couple of years without breaking, I'd say it's definitely worth the money!
I have an S6 that has done more than 2,000 cleaning runs (rarely whole-house). I also have a Xiaomi Mi (Roborock's predecessor) that is now 5 years old. Both have performed without a single failure.
not sure what rug you have but my s7 maxv cannot clean my short haired rug of dog hairs.. i have to run my old neato d5 after it.. i'm a bit dissapointed.
2,5 years ago I have bought S5 MAX because of these reviews. Cannot imagine to be without it! Then i recomended it to 4 of my friends + my mom, they bought it and they all love it!

Hi i don't know how to reach out to you...could you please compare Hobot LEGEE 7 with Roborock S7. Especially for the mopping functionality. Heard great reviews about this vaccum mop combo and would like to hear your thoughts on them in comparison to the best mopping vaccum currently in th market. Please consider this request.
I'm glad that robot vacuums are now improving like the self cleaning function and even self clean the mop! I've had the roborock s5 for years now and still doing fine but would love to upgrade on these babies in the future.
One of the most helpful channels on the tube. Thank you so much, was heading towards the S7 MaxV Ultra, you've confirmed it. Just keep doing what you're doing, you're top of the pack.
This is the only HONEST reviews channel. Most other channels i checked were sponsored by Deebot hence never mentioned its inability to mop and vac at the same time
Last month, I bought a roborock S7 MaxV Ultra and received it, I am satisfied with it cleaning performance and the empty wash fill dock, APP is very feature rich, Navigation is fast and efficient, Love it!!
Love the review but I have a suggestion - I would like to see a "carpet deep clean hair" test. I recently upgraded from a Neato D5 to my S7 MaxV because of your glowing reviews of it.. I love the S7, it's much better than the Neato in several ways.. but the one thing I noticed was the D5 is still better at getting my German Shepherds hair out of my area rugs. His hair kind of gets embedded a bit into the threads of the carpet between cleans and the D5 just does a much better job at pulling them out.. I believe it's due to the bristled brush (something the Omni also has). If I run the D5 after my S7 MaxV goes, nearly 1/4 of the bin of the D5 is filled with dog hair, that's how much the S7 misses. I feel like most tests on youtube/sites don't cover this aspect of the vacuum -- but it was a con for me. I have to manually Dyson my area rugs now because the S7 just neglects the doghair. Not a big deal because like I said the AI/Mopping makes such a massive improvement.. but yeah. Maybe it's something you can add in the future? Regardless thanks for all your hard work.
Saw a review that showed that bristle brushes are better at picking up hairs on carpets than rubber only brushes, however the bristle brushes also had more hairs stuck around the roller and needed more intervention than the rubber ones, also the bristle brushes rip fibers out of the rugs and shortened the carpets life span much more that fully rubber rollers.
Yes, I have the same issue. I have two German shepherds and also have the S7 Maxv ultra along with the Neato D3 to D7. I have yet to come across a robot vac that performs as well with GSD hair as the D3 to D7 range. I much prefer a full size brush roll and the D shape of the Neatos as well. Unfortunately Vorwerk, the parent company of Neato, refuses to push Neato keep up with technology. Really the only thing they do well now is clean carpet while all their competitors have left them in the dust with other innovations. The new D8 - D10 range was already woefully behind the times before it even released.
Wanted to thank you for your videos. In my opinion they're the best by far. I just purchased the S7 MaxV Ultra (should receive it tomorrow) and will update on the comment section after a few uses. Thanks again, keep it up!
I added the info as a reply to a comment but (@Vacuum Wars if that's ok with you) I will paste it here in case anyone is wondering: the difference between Pro Ultra and MaxV Ultra as an official reply from Roborock EU: Difference: 1, S7MaxV Ultra is equipped with RGB camera and 3D structured light, which gives the robot the feature of ReactiveAI2.0 Obstacle Avoidance, allowing the robot to recognize some hazards and react differently based on what it sees. S7Pro Ultra doesn't have the feature. 2, You can see and talk via the camera and mic on S7MaxV Ultra, thus realizing the video call feature. The feature is unique to S7MaxV Ultra and not available on S7Pro Ultra. 3, On S7MaxV Ultra there is a status indicator light onboard that can change color according to the status of the robot. S7Pro Ultra doesn't have the indicator light. 4, The mop mount on S7Pro Ultra is undetachable while the one on S7MaxV Ultra is detachable for easier maintenance. 5, S7Pro Ultra is only available in white and in bundle while S7MaxV Ultra is only available in black, and can be purchased either separately or in a bundle.
Your channel is a dream, what a wonderfull way to proceed i’ve following you couple of years, and cant imagine a way to test these devices better than you actually do Many thanks for your test!! Roborock user
Got the X1 Omni recently on sale and holy crap is this soooo much better than the S9+ irobot bundle. The mapping, consistency and especially the MOPPING! Its like night and day, the water was literally black on its first try after the irobot mop. Prob will never EVER go wiping pad again. The spinning pads on the Omni cleaned better than i even thought possible, my wife and i immediately noticed how bright the room was even the ceilng seemed cleaner lol and we have a pretty clean place. Anyway, if you can find the Onni for 1k like i did, that is a steal conpared to similarly priced products. Plus the self drying feature is amazing and prevents smells and limits bacteria growth and the fact it requires 0 interaction is crazy
I can’t believe how much has roborock lifted the vacuum game. I have been using robo vacuums since 2015 and have to say this has saved probably saved a 1000 hours of my life. Can’t wait for the general ai to become available for all work around the house.
Great review and comparison! This is the video I have been waiting for. Turns out Roborock does a better job in deep cleaning hard floor and carpets. The size is also more lovely.
I have an S7 MaxV. Got it launch day and got some stick vaccuum thing as a bonus. I've been blown away by it and it converted my SO who was completely against robot vacuums. I have only two complaints with the MaxV and then a few nitpicking items: 1) - at the wood to tile gap that has the little wood accent cover between my living room and kitchen, the Rooborock tends to drive over that elevated accent in a sideways fashion which puts it at a slight angle. This makes it leave dirt and debri in the lower portion of the floor crack. 2) Trash bag is small. The vacuum runs daily, but I live in an area that gets lots of dirt and two dogs that shed. It's something like a bag every 3 weeks if I'm lucky. That will get costly. 3) I wish it would tell you when the water was getting low or the trash bag getting full. Instead it waits until after it can't clean the mop, after it can't dispense the trash. 4) Generally tweaking the rooms is easy, but when things go wrong it's almost impossible to fix. ON my current map, it sees part of my closet as my living room and part of my closet as my bedroom, and adding walls or lines and splitting the rooms hasn't corrected it. 5) It doesn't pick up leaves well. I wish they'd add a soft brush roller to the front on the next model. 6) I wish you could plumb this device. It'd be the ultimate machine. One for new water and one to wash out the tank. 7) The dock feels like a weak point and I sure hope it's gonna last. It so far is holding up well but it does feel like it might be the first thing to go. 8) If it gets caught on a rug - sometimes it'll push up a corner of a loose rug - it most likely won't recover. 9) Let's say it starts a whole home cleaning and it's cleaned the part of the living room and you now decide it just needs to do the kitchen and living room. If you pause it and select kitchen and living room, it starts the whole living room over. There is no option to just modify it on the fly to finish up the living room and then move to the kitchen.
I can. not. wait. until the Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra is available in Canada. Since becoming very limited in completing basic ADL's, it seems this would be a godsend!. Your reviews have been so helpful in deciding what model/features to put on my wish list :)
@@monsterholics It appears to be available on Amazon Canada, but without the auto empty bin, which you can apparently buy separately, but I don't like how unclear it is.
To tell which product is better is difficult, varcuum war test in some case only. In low pile carpet that is ideal for lifting function of roborock, its suction is very poor comparing to Ecovacs products. No hot drying is minus point of Roborock as well, like you use washing machine to wash your clothes but you do not take clothes out when completing task. Not mention to design in details, you will see Ecovacs is better in many aspects like 3 filter layer system, lidar with protect case...In general, each products have its own advantage and disadvantage, if can try both is perfect!
Fantastic content. After just two of your videos I feel shockingly well informed as a consumer now in a product segment that feels full of marketing BS. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!
I have really enjoyed my t8 AIVI. I like that ecovacs does the heat dry too. I noticed robotic selling an aftermarket heating element to dry pads and the ability to lift the mop and do carpets and mops on the same go really make it the winner for me. I really appreciate all your videos. You do such a great job at being objective and putting them thru real world tests. 👍👍👍
Because of your channel and excellent reviews I’ve purchased three nice units: carpet shampooer, this robo-vac and also a hard floor cleaner and I appreciate all your work… thank you.❤
I wish these robots can have a feature where they automatically attack bugs like cockroaches. There are some huge cockroaches that crawl out from the drain to my condo. It’d be cool if the robot shot laser at it, kill it, and cleaned the corpses. Edit: mini flamethrower works too.
I’ve been hanging back on purchasing a robotic vacuum / mop for over a year now having not really been convinced by any one product. I think the Roborock S7 has me sold now though. Thanks for the comparison
Wait for the next model, you paying early adopters for both of this product and they still learning, Roborock forget to add drying system for the mop, they actually have the drying base for China model. While ecovacs fail to have removable water tank in the vacuum so if something happens to it you screwed because you have no way to replace it. Both fail to have removable tray to clean the base tray like dreame w10.
@@anubizz3 That doesn't matter, the value you get even with these disadvantages trumps everything on the market. and besides if you keep waiting they will always release new features that are not fully complete, that's just the nature of competitive market.
I bought the X1 Omni and it’s the best purchase of robot vacuum in my opinion. Roborock i do agree that it is better in someway, but the moving parts for the mopping pad cleaning is one more thing to worry about. Hence why i choose the Omni
I had a Roomba Discovery in 2004 and I always thought to myself "wouldn't it be awesome if there was a robot mop" and I knew that the Brava existed but that was like a separate robot altogether and it wasn't that good. And it looks like robot mops and vacuums and even combination robots have gotten a lot better in the last two decades I wonder what the next two decades will look like hopefully one that can clean and treverse stairs.
One thing that I haven't seen in reviews in how they handle longer hair. I don't know if there's really good way to test it though. I ask, because we've had a Roomba for the past 5 years and have been looking at getting one of the self emptying vacuums. However, our current Roomba gets so much of my wife's hair tangled in the brushes and rollers, that I feel like you'd have to manually remove it every couple of runs anyways. That pretty much defeats the purpose of having a self emptying vacuum. It could probably the same for all vacuums like this, but I was just curious. Didn't want to spend $1400 on a "automated" vacuum that I have to clean every time it's used.
Great review and comparison. I think the S7 Max V is great, I don't have the auto empty dock or ultra dock and don't see a need for those at this point, I don't use the mop feature that much and emptying the dust bin is pretty simple. Most comparison videos seem to think the Roborock is slightly better, I've only seen one where the reviewer thought the X1 Omni was better. There is one robot that I know of that has a larger battery than 5200 MAH. The dreametech W10 has a 6400 MAH battery if I remember right. It's another bot that can clean its mop pads but it doesn't empty the dust bin automatically.
Thanks for a great review. It'd be great if you could include a hair test in to your reviews. I have a Roborock S6 but I find my wife's and daughter's hair wraps around the brush unmercifully. I'd be interested in how the S7 Max handles human hair and if the auto emptying feature cleans the brush at all.
Having tried both brands even if the ecovacs performs better don’t bother as it loses your maps constantly. All the no go zones and zones get lost constantly. I’m selling it and going back to roborock
Yup, in long term Roborock is much much better. I bought outlet ecovacs and im so pissed off few times per months. It's losses maps, don't know on which floor it is and creating new map, can't figure out where the base is. Never again
@@megfan1383 i have a tiny dog. I run N80p pro+ every day but autoempting function cannot pull the hairball out. Ill try running it twice a day. I think it a design fault since it tries to empty it trough two small openings instead of one large.
Nice share for both of the robots. I suppose roborock S7 would have better performance on carpet areas as it has a slightly higher suction power and a liftable mop system than ecovacs x1.
Ecovacs has upgraded mopping plates that add a 1-2mm spacer to the mopping plates to add more pressure to the floor and better cleaning. You can also add small circular fridge magnets that are 2mm in size and small enough to fit in the port that attaches to the robot.
@@HeadlaRed I bought the "DIYMAG 100Pcs Refrigerator Magnets" kit off Amazon. Those are 2mm and various sizes, but out of stock now. The one I used was 8mm x 2mm so I don't think a 10mm will fit. If you recently bought the OMNI it should come with updated moping plates. But if you notice floor is not getting wet you can add a additional magnet.
Also the newest and best out now is the Dreame L10s Ultra., AdamsTechReviews did a review on it. So if your looking for one that does everything the Omni does and will lift its mopping pads that the Omni dosn't do, then you might want to take a look at the new Dreame robot. Cheaper then the OMNI, hopefully you can get your money back on the Omni if you go the Dreame route.
Take note folks, these will be the officers in the Robot Vacuum Army. When the next Robot Vacuum War breaks out, make these your targets. Without their AI leaders the other robots will disperse.
GREAT comparison and GREAT videos... with one exception. I wish you would compare the main brush of the vacuum to show which one gets less tangled with long hair. I have the I have the T8 AIVA and the T8+ and my wife and daughter both have long hair and I have to take the main brush out once a month and cut the hair out. I haven't seen any of your reviews that compare brush tangle or lack thereof. Once again, amazing videos with incredible reviews and I appreciate all of the hard work that you put into these comparisons and reviews.
I would like to see a short video of this issue reviewed as well. I have the S7 (not the Ultra) and have to remove hair from the brush, but it does very well picking it up. This is due to the design on their newer brush heads.
I have omni X1 for 8 weeks now, it is not worth the $$$ , obstacles avoidance is a joke, climbed up on to my dogs elevated poop pad on mopping mode & created biggest headache… app consistently loses mapped floor plan, vac says “im am here” when the house is silent , navigating it to a room or located can only be dine by voice which is horrible and inefficient i would stay clear of ecovacs as the $1500 price tag is comical
The only 2 things that are worrying me, and actually stopping from buying one yet (currently am happy owner of Roborock S6): 1. spinning mopping seems better in cleaning (despite tests, I feel like it should do more), and simpler implementation, simpler cleaning mechanics etc. Feels more robust in general. I can see how it can be fitted with lift mechanism too, eventually. I fear that roborock's complicated washing brush thing is more prone to failure. IMHO ofc. 2. I wait till someone adds proper cyclone vacuum in such base (like on one of xiaomi non-warching stations). Don't want to deal with those bags. Why does it have to be either good water cleaning, but with messy bags, or good cyclone base, but with no water in it :(... That's my 2 cents on the topic :).
messy bags?? the point of the bags is exactly not to do a mess with the dust. The point of the cyclone is not having to rely on disposables but it's way more messy than bags.
The spinning mops are better in two ways: 1. The have a larger area that's scrubbing the floor and don't need as tight of a zigzag to clean. 2. They are better at wet spills even though they aren't really ment to mop anything but dry stains. If only they could be raised of the floor when vacuum carpets they would be the clear best mopping method.
@@milham975 so 1- would save like 2 min and 2- is actually non advantage because as it's obvious some of the liquid gets on the vacuum roller parts so no advantage in the end over something that's already better than spinning mop.
I finally got the S7 MaxV Ultra. Amazing. I was sure I was gonna buy it when you first mentioned it in the beggining of the year but I was happy to also see the comparison here. Great job as always! btw I just saw today... S7 Pro Ultra :O strange.. not sure what it is, on first glance looks a bit like a white version of MaxV Ultra but maybe without camera.. I am not entirely sure.
@@Vashtiian yes but the dock seems to be the full blown auto empty auto wash. And I am wondering what is the case with the robot since the price is around 1.2k euro and the maxv ultra is around 1.4k which supposes it should be less advanced than the older one?
@@Vashtiian hey again, I contacted the eu support and the answered quite quickly and in good detail. @@PossessedbyPhoenix I never thought of that. Be a nice feature for them to figure out one day. Was hoping they would start to make em more compact to fit in tighter places.
I compared the two, but at the end of the day, I received a promo for the X1 for $350 off. Since these two are quite similar, I decided to save myself the money. We'll see how it lives up, and if those savings were worth it.
My experience with Ecovacs' software has been nightmarish. Buggy, maps lost, etc. The bot itself (a T8) can also be quite finnicky. That's actually partly why I'm here. The experience with it has been so frustrating that, even though it "gets the job done" (sometimes, if it doesn't quit unexpectedly or lose the map again), it has driven me to consider alternatives and scrapping it completely.
Have not had a problem yet. 37 hours 175 cleaning sessions 1500m2 cleaned. I have the n8 though and its without aivi. But I am also here for the roborock s7. But to have a new primary on main floor and move the n8 down stairs.
!!!!!DO NOT REPLY TO THE TEXT ME. ITS A SCAM. ITS BEEEN SENT TO ALMOST EVERYONE ON THE COMMENTS SECTION. THE SAME WAY IM HAVING TO REPLY TO EVERYONE NOT TO GIVE IN!!!!!
Great video. I have an Ecovacs T8 AIVI and it works flawlessly in my home, so much better then my previous Roomba S7 that just couldn't navigate between my rooms properly, but if I was to upgrade right now I think the Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra looks great. The benefits that attract me the most are the ability to lift the mopping pad for mixed hard-floor/carpet homes like mine and the superior obstacle avoidance at least with the firmware revisions on both machines at time of testing. That 5 minutes for the Roborock to fully saturate its mopping pad is disappointing though especially on small rooms where that could easily mean that half the room has been covered before the mopping becomes fully effective. In fact if the first room it mops is a smallish bathroom it might even mop the whole room without the pad being fully saturated. I do wonder though, with the mop cleaning functionality built into the docking station, whether a firmware update could fix that. If it is about to start a cleaning run and knows that it has areas where it will be using the mop on that cleaning run (and it would know that once it has its map built) could it start dripping water through the mop for 5 minutes before it backs off the dock? Perhaps it could even use the cleaning scrubbers in the dock to help distribute the moisture across the whole area of the cleaning pad as it is pre-saturating the pad. That seems entirely do-able to me and in my view would be a worthwhile improvement that should only need a firmware update.
@@BackDaws Yep, it still runs perfectly. Maybe once every 6 months the software decides to relabel all the rooms for no obvious reason and I need to spend a few minutes relabelling so that my daily schedules keep working but hardware-wise I’ve never had a single issue.
@@julianfp1952 My T8 AIVI's software has routinely been a pain to deal with. Granted, when it works, it really is great, but it can be frustrating at times when it just starts randomly acting up, maps are lost and etc. Robot vacuum life, I guess 😅
Very good video, so much information efficiently conveyed - nice! I would have like some information on the water usage (how often need the tanks in the base to be refilled?) and how dirty they are after a couple of weeks/months usage.
How often they need to be refilled is almost entirely situational - how big an area are you mopping, how much water are you telling the Robot to use, and how often? I have the S7MaxV and get about 2 runs per internal tank of water for my 80sqm area, and the dock can refill the tank about 6 times, so on average about every dozen or so mopping runs I need to refill the dock tank. I have it mop twice a week so basically every 6 weeks I refill the tank. Your results will, of course, vary. As for how dirty the tanks get - that's not really important, since the tanks are easily removable and cleaned (I wash out both clean and dirty when I refill the clean tank). Cleaning the accumulated gunk in the dock is more relevant - I haven't had mine long enough to know for sure but based on how it looks so far I'm guessing I'll need to wipe it down, maybe vacuum up spare lint/etc. 2 or 3 times a year.
Future upgrade, two different robots one for mopping, one for vacuum. But they both are linked together. In my robot the vacuum compartment gets moist from mopping and vacuuming, dust gets wet & sticks to the sides & clumps up not good. So this is why I say split them up. Then you can have more water flow. And 100% not mop the carpets. Still need lifting mop pads to get to isolated hard floors/ surrounded by carpet. They need to lift higher then tall carpet. It already costs 1,300. You could make twofor that price.
@@screammachineman that's why literally nobody with a bit of brain buys this setup on Roombas, no other company is doing it because it's dumb and expensive as i mentioned.
@@xeon2k8 You don't need to tell me, it's John Doe above me that's suggesting it. I'm merely pointing out that the concept already exists since you said 'no company is doing it.' Well iRobot is.
Both of the bots are not ready, they can't do heavy duty cleaning. I love the x1 omni. Big water tanks is a + 7 out of 10 for looks The price is....not worth it. Both need to be upgraded 5x I'll wait for Gen 5.
I have an Ecovacs, and it YET AGAIN decided to delete the entire map of my flat and start again! To be honest, I have set up the no-go zones so often now that I think I will never buy an Ecovacs robot again. The hardware is the hook, but the software is what makes the biggest difference over time.
@@marc0523 Agreed, I tried to literally go comment on all the ones I saw. Not everyone will be quick to notice its a scam with the enticing offer of a "giveaway"
We bought the T8 AIVI after one of your previous videos and while initially excited it did not live up to the hype as far as its' inability to empty dog hair via the base station because the export holes are probably too small.
We had the same issue, in addition to numerous bugs in the software that have not been fixed after years. I have wondered if the S7 MaxV might be a worthy replacement, but sadly Vacuum Wars doesn't seem to devote any time to stress testing autoempty, or reviewing software quality beyond regurgitating the list of purported features. It's just "this model can do it," and given how untrue that is for the T8 AIVI, I am skeptical of these reviews now. The software issues for the T8 AIVI exist on both Android and iOS versions of the software, and were very immediately apparent when trying to use it, so I'm not sure why they get no coverage.
Slight issue with one of these results. You said it took longer for Roborock to saturate it's mop pad which is true without the Ultra Dock. With the Ultra Dock, the dock cleans it's mop before cleaning so its already wet.
This is true, however i have noticed with mine that if the robot doesn't return to the base often enough the mop pad will only saturate around the place where the water comes from and you can see it by the thin wet lines on the floor. This happens even if there's still water in the on board tank. My recommendation is to have the robot re-wet the mop pad around every 30 min, or after every room.
@@milham975 Wouldn't you want to do that anyway? Otherwise you are just rubbing a dirty rag all over your floors no? I rinse and clean a regular mop 2-3 times per room on average so...
@@ericmichel3857 at first every one think that way, but over time you realize that the floors in most rooms aren't that dirty, especially if the robot mops every day, and it becomes cumbersome to refill the water tank and empty the dirty water ever other day or so.
Not having to take the mopping pad off makes the Roborock the winner for me. I want my robotic servants to be as independent as possible. I do wish the Alexa integration with Roborock was much better.
Thank you for your detailed video. Do you have any updated video for the Omni? Apparently Ecovacs updated their pads hence water flow issue? Should I wait till all units got the updated pads?
@@VacuumWars no, thank you for your reply. I'm still on the edge of getting the Omni as so many mixed reviews. I love mine, no issues at all. Just so hard to justify buying something at this price point. Although I can consider this as a 3 device production that does all in one. Vacuum, mop and cleansing. Thank so much.
We compare manufacturer specs on our website right here: www.vacuumwars.com/compare-roborock-s7-maxv-ultra-robot-vacuum-and-mop-vs-ecovacs-deebot-x1-omni-robot-vacuum-and-mop-vacuum-cleaners hope that helps!
I really like the ecovac, the Roborock can't really do throw rugs and seems the mopping is better they both have good sides but who wants to keep unjamming the Roborock, I have no problem removing eco vac pads, but it did not communicate with my wifi so I returned it . the roborock can't seem to get the map of my house right, it's 2500sq. it stays in the same location and can't return to the dock
FWIW i don't think it's a regulatory limit for the batteries inherently. It's more likely that the air shipping rules get very messy once you have batteries above a certain size (usually 90wh) -- in this case the robot vacs have 75wh batteries. It's entirely possible they are similar in size because they use the same supply chain to acquire batteries.
being one who owns the T8 AIVI, I can say that the camera and therefore obstacle avoidance of Ecovacs is literally nonexistent. The map zoning is HIGHLY limited (you can only divide the map in two - good luck if you've got a more complex layout like a room with two doorways) - and the robots tends to both IGNORE the no-go-zones from time to time (which, in my case, means it does get stuck regularly...) OR it starts to TILT the map by 10-45 degrees to either side, drawing an ADDITIONAL map over his existent one. The support however - being exclusively in chinese - is more of a burden than a help. Therefore: NEVER EVER Ecovacs again!
Similar situation here. I've a t9 and the camera avoiding features isn't working . I've found my bot stuck on some calbe or it took down my Christmas tree .... Sometime it completely erase the map and have to build up a new one. It has a lot of software issues
I also find the T8 AIVI software to be extremely buggy. If it doesn’t do a good job dividing your space into rooms automatically, you can attempt to edit this manually, but the editing is so buggy as to be nonfunctional, and if you consider that it also has issues where it needs to discard your map fairly regularly, the painstaking effort of trying to manually edit the room divisions is not worth it. It also struggles to climb the thresholds in our home (an older home, admittedly), despite the fact that they are technically within the limits of its climbing ability… it fails inconsistently so we’ve had to avoid using it for certain rooms. Finally, it’s auto empty base really struggles with pet hair if it gets very full at all, so you either have to run it super frequently or ensure it only cleans small sections at a time before returning to empty, and this management is something one mostly has to do manually. I used to really trust vaccuum wars reviews, but the fact that most of these issues never got a mention in the review of the T8 AIVI makes me skeptical, particularly when he is reviewing the software and saying different models have “all of the features”.
@@CogitoErgoPwn that's all 100% my experience as well. Plus I've encountered the problem with mine reporting "drive wheel malfunction" a lot lately - because he runs against a low obstacle his LiDAR can't spot (the socket of my cat's scratching tree for example) and the front sensor simply IGNORING the fact he's running against a wall at full strength. Having cats btw. - despite letting it clean 4x a week, the auto-empty-system doesn't work reliable. Once my T8 goes down, I'll NEVER go back to that brand again. They've proven to be unable to fix errors in their software for YEARS. The ONLY thing they changed was putting a "feature" in it to directly order replacement parts or pay more for random stuff.
Fantastic review! What's the interface you've shown at minute 2:44 ? Looks like Homeassistant, also can you share links in the description pls? My x1 omni only seems to work with the app.
What is the best non-mopping robo vac? Our Shark just died and looking for replacement. We have rugs and hard wood but not really interested in mopping at this time.
I love your channel, I've bought the roborock s7 maxv ultra because of your review. But i still love my roborock s4. I don't know why, but the s4 i feel cleaning better than s7.
Can the software be used to control where you want them to vacuum and or mop? My house has both hardwood and tile, and I really don’t want it to mop the hardwood.
Can you make sure to include a point about multifloor (second story) vacuuming too? Many people have 2 stories as you know and even having a random pattern vacuum on the second story would be fine too.
Just bought the new Dreame S10 in china. the 3rd or 4th (if you count xiaomi's which is made by Dreame as a slightly slimmed downed version of the S10) all in one robot vacuum in the market. Lower price than both the ecovac and roborock, but with even more functions.
Does anyone know if it's possible to move the base on these vacuums without having to regenerate entire floor map? My ecovacs deebot base can't be moved without having to discard current floor map, which is a massive pain.
Roborock also has much better customer service and technical support. Roborock answers in 1-2 days with a solution while ecovacs took 1-2 weeks to get back to me WITHOUT a solution. I got the S7 MaxV Plus (auto empty minus the liquids) at half the price of Ultra.
Why alot of reviewer fail to mention roborock don't have drying system for the mop, and both of this don't have detachable bottom tray so cleaning this part are hard
Do you know if there is any robot vacuums that are made to climb? Or have big wheels that goes in and out when thresholds comes? If not which is the best one for that?
you should do a longevity test on some of these, i bought an ecovacs n8 pro+ and it's literally the worst thing ever, it gets stuck on the dock, will randomly lose its ability to vacuum efficiently and spin around in circles, you have to tape one of the holes closed to get it to empty pet hair, you get annoying ads to buy replacement parts on the main map that you cant get rid of. The empty dock will randomly go off for about a second. I honestly would never get an ecovacs their app is horrible.
I have had 4 robot vacs over the years. Current have a ECOVACSHOME TI+ avi. All of them have never been able to do dark carpet rugs as it trips the drop sensor.. has anyone found one that can go on black carpet no issues?
Which one does better with not jamming on pet hair? I have a self empty Shark, and it cant do a single run without "Error #2" and I have to pull cat litter, or dried poo, or tangled cat fur out of it. I dont want to spend $1400 if these are just going to do the same thing. Thanks

This is how comparison reviewers should be done. Clear concise information. Didn’t waste time with a stupid rambling intro with irrelevant information. Other reviewers should take note on how a great review is done. Thanks guys. You guys are now my first stop if I need a review for a vacuum.
Thank you so much!
This is way more work than just comparing the spec sheets like most do..
Well said.
This is the vacuum war that we all have been waiting for! :) Excellent video as always, Sir
Nice! Thanks!
No vacuum is worth $1,400, OMG!
2,5 years ago I have bought S5 MAX because of these reviews. Cannot imagine to be without it! Then i recomended it to 4 of my friends + my mom, they bought it and they all love it!
@@martinchrom4444 I have no doubt these are great vacuum systems, my issue is with the price point. Vacuums should not be so insanely expensive!
I think it's important to state on the water saturation test that roborock s7 will clean it's mop before cleaning leaving it wet to start.

Please do Samsung bespoke jet and LG Cordzero with All in one tower too 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
I see that everywhere on youtube now!
I see this issue with other TH-cam channels as well. You'd think TH-cam could stop these scammers.
These are fantastic tests for people who actually care what they buy. Thank you and congratulations for your work
Thank you too!
Wow, thanks!
This is the only HONEST reviews channel. Most other channels i checked were sponsored by Deebot hence never mentioned its inability to mop and vac at the same time
Last month, I bought a roborock S7 MaxV Ultra and received it, I am satisfied with it cleaning performance and the empty wash fill dock, APP is very feature rich,
Navigation is fast and efficient, Love it!!
Glad you are enjoying it!
Regardless thanks for all your hard work.
good know, and are you making sure that it does that area in max+ mode? perhaps you're setting it at low suction mode
I've seen this in a few other reviews, it's to do with the rubber brush. It just doesn't seem to work as well as a bristled brush for pet hair
Yes better hair tests please also have a GSP (sheppy)
Why thank you very much! We hope you enjoy that S7!
This man has made me interested in vacuums, great video!
I added the info as a reply to a comment but (@Vacuum Wars if that's ok with you) I will paste it here in case anyone is wondering: the difference between Pro Ultra and MaxV Ultra as an official reply from Roborock EU:
Difference:
1, S7MaxV Ultra is equipped with RGB camera and 3D structured light, which gives the robot the feature of ReactiveAI2.0 Obstacle Avoidance, allowing the robot to recognize some hazards and react differently based on what it sees.

@@VacuumWars I agree! I love watching your videos! Thank you for all your hard work! 😊
You have become the ultimate source for vacuum reviews. Screw people's opinions we want facts.
Definitely expand into other electronics.

Great review and comparison! This is the video I have been waiting for. Turns out Roborock does a better job in deep cleaning hard floor and carpets. The size is also more lovely.
Glad it was helpful!
I have an S7 MaxV. Got it launch day and got some stick vaccuum thing as a bonus. I've been blown away by it and it converted my SO who was completely against robot vacuums. I have only two complaints with the MaxV and then a few nitpicking items:
1) - at the wood to tile gap that has the little wood accent cover between my living room and kitchen, the Rooborock tends to drive over that elevated accent in a sideways fashion which puts it at a slight angle.
Fingers crossed! Thank you!
Do we know when it’s gonna be available?

Awesome! Thanks!
Because of your channel and excellent reviews I’ve purchased three nice units: carpet shampooer, this robo-vac and also a hard floor cleaner and I appreciate all your work… thank you.❤
We really hope you are happy with them! Thank you!
I wish these robots can have a feature where they automatically attack bugs like cockroaches. There are some huge cockroaches that crawl out from the drain to my condo. It’d be cool if the robot shot laser at it, kill it, and cleaned the corpses.
Edit: mini flamethrower works too.
Or if it spotted a bug it would follow it and drive over it
@@danijel124 can’t follow it up walls though. So the flamethrower is better
Sir, do you work for Hollywood?
This is amazing! I can’t believe how advanced they are getting though I have more privacy concerns with the cameras.
Just got the S7 MaxV Plus and I couldn’t be happier. I love this thing. My wife is confused af because I look forward to clean the apt every day now…
I’ve been hanging back on purchasing a robotic vacuum / mop for over a year now having not really been convinced by any one product. I think the Roborock S7 has me sold now though. Thanks for the comparison
If you can wait another year, the Roomba patent on dual rubber rollers (their main advantage) expires next May.
@@Zissou42 Interesting tidbit. The dual rollers are good, but the rest of the Roomba vacuums - I'm not impressed.
I hope you are very happy with it!
Thanks for sharing - good to hear you are happy with it.
I’m regards to the Roborock wetting it’s mop, mine always turns around and wets it at the dock before starting a job
Depends of the brush they have
Great review and comparison.
Never again
You should include the pet hair test. It may render the auto-empty system completely useless, which is huge dealbreaker.
That is the only problem i have with my S5 it will clog up with pet hair over time
I run mine everyday and it doesn't clog anymore
Don't suppose you know 2mm by ? I have an omni on the way, main purpose is for mopping. Found some 2mm by 10mm, do you know whether they would fit?

This is great 😂
GREAT comparison and GREAT videos... with one exception.
Getting tired of waiting for the Roborock. If the Ecovacs dips below 1300, I may just get it. The ship date for RR keeps getting pushed out.
Dont i have it, not worth it
I have omni X1 for 8 weeks now, it is not worth the $$$ , obstacles avoidance is a joke, climbed up on to my dogs elevated poop pad on mopping mode & created biggest headache… app consistently loses mapped floor plan, vac says “im am here” when the house is silent , navigating it to a room or located can only be dine by voice which is horrible and inefficient i would stay clear of ecovacs as the $1500 price tag is comical
Great video! I've been waiting for this head to head since they were announced :)
I'm glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for watching!
The only 2 things that are worrying me, and actually stopping from buying one yet (currently am happy owner of Roborock S6):
1. spinning mopping seems better in cleaning (despite tests, I feel like it should do more), and simpler implementation, simpler cleaning mechanics etc.
The spinning mops are better in two ways:
I’m not even looking for a vacuum but these videos are so good, I watch anyway.
Thank you!
Hey, thank you for this video! Deeply compressed with tons of info! Very good and keep up!

1:37
Do you think it's because of the carpet boost setting that's causing it to lower the suction because the sensor isn't detecting carpet?
My roborock runs the mop washing routine when it's about to go cleaning. I guess it's a solution to the pad saturation problem.
Any difference with pet hair / human hair? The main consideration for me!
That seems entirely do-able to me and in my view would be a worthwhile improvement that should only need a firmware update.
is your T8 still working properly?
@@BackDaws Yep, it still runs perfectly. Maybe once every 6 months the software decides to relabel all the rooms for no obvious reason and I need to spend a few minutes relabelling so that my daily schedules keep working but hardware-wise I’ve never had a single issue.
@@julianfp1952 My T8 AIVI's software has routinely been a pain to deal with. Granted, when it works, it really is great, but it can be frustrating at times when it just starts randomly acting up, maps are lost and etc. Robot vacuum life, I guess 😅
thank you for all the great videos that you and because of the videos you have done i have gotten the roborock s7 maxv ultra
Glad I could help and I hope you enjoy it!
Very good video, so much information efficiently conveyed - nice!
I would have like some information on the water usage (how often need the tanks in the base to be refilled?) and how dirty they are after a couple of weeks/months usage.
Now thats the question you will not find a clear answer on reviewers videos.
Just got the X1 for $999 Canadian and I couldn’t be happier. It’s incredible
Glad you are happy with it!
You could make twofor that price.
iRobot already does this.
2 robots would cost way more that's why no company is doing it. Double chassis, double lasers, wheels, etc etc... no one is asking 2 robots.
@@xeon2k8 literally iRobot does this, that's the Roombas.
The fact that you need to change parts to vacuum and mop on the Omni completely defeats the purpose of an all in one unit.
Both of the bots are not ready, they can't do heavy duty cleaning.
I love the x1 omni.
Big water tanks is a +
7 out of 10 for looks
The price is....not worth it.
Both need to be upgraded 5x
I'll wait for Gen 5.

@@ZONAWOLF already reported. I really wish TH-cam would do something about them.
@@marc0523 Agreed, I tried to literally go comment on all the ones I saw. Not everyone will be quick to notice its a scam with the enticing offer of a "giveaway"
Great video like always! what i can't understand is which one is recommended for a tile flooring home?
Wondering about the Rodmi EVA compared to these two.... on paper it seems to have the same features and functions
The software issues for the T8 AIVI exist on both Android and iOS versions of the software, and were very immediately apparent when trying to use it, so I'm not sure why they get no coverage.
well done with the comparison. you got my like and subscription. Now lets hope the roborock wil be available in Romania.
If the S7 has a bagless, then I'd probably go for it. Until then, I'll wait for Shark to come out with a system like this since they do bagless.
Bigger water tank on the Omni is also worth mentioning
Not having to take the mopping pad off makes the Roborock the winner for me. I want my robotic servants to be as independent as possible. I do wish the Alexa integration with Roborock was much better.
Thank you for your detailed video. Do you have any updated video for the Omni? Apparently Ecovacs updated their pads hence water flow issue? Should I wait till all units got the updated pads?
You are welcome. So we haven't taken a good look at the updates yet but we hope to get to it. Sorry to not have more to say right now.
Thanks for the amazing video. Is there a table of comparison between the devices??

How would the ecovacs T30 Omni compare to the S7 Ultra?

Not available outside china yet. Could you post a video of it ? Thx

I have the roborock s6 MaxV and it's amazing :) I would love this new one! But to expensive :)!
Why alot of reviewer fail to mention roborock don't have drying system for the mop, and both of this don't have detachable bottom tray so cleaning this part are hard
if you use a cleaning solution then there's no problem letting it dry

How does the smell of the mop compare between the 2 in the long run?
I am asking because of the dry feature missing from the S7.
Thanks
