    Been eating canned sardines and oysters for a while and feel incredible. The skin and bones and everything contain so much in the way of micronutrients, of course you’re getting omega 3s, lean protein, but the minerals are the real potent stuff.

    I have no grand opinion on organ meats. It's simply about the nutrient-density. Organ meats are more nutrient-dense than muscle meat. Then again, eggs and dairy are also more nutrient-dense than muscle meat.
    Shawn Baker doesn't eat a lot of organ meat, but he does get plenty of eggs. Those eggs are the equivalent of organ meats. As for Chaffee here, even he admits that he adds butter into his diet.
    So, the rule seems to be to either eat organ meats or eat dairy and/or eggs; maybe along with bone broth, bone marrow, whole fish, etc. The point is to include other animal foods that are far more nutrient-dense than muscle meat. But there is nothing magical about organ meats specifically.

  • @metheiam5714
    @metheiam5714 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I think there may be a place for some to use organs, especially for those that can't tolerate much protein on their high fat carnivore. There're great differences in beef vs game meat. Some game meat have ~2-4x thiamine and riboflavin compared to beef. Some game meat inherently have more copper in them, like reindeer which has about 0,7mg or 70%DRI in just 100g, and caribou 0,26mg. Beef has less than 0,1mg on average. There's also generally decent amount of EPA or DHA in game fat. IIRC, in moose and reindeer fat it's ~300-400mg of EPA per 100g of fat. You can get plenty of vitamins and minerals from game meat, but beef may be lacking, and who knows if it's a reason why carnivore doesn't work for some when they're touted that organs are not necessary, only beef.
    The inuits also ate hearts from the caribous (and gave the kidneys for the kids) and they ate seal liver during winters, so they weren't completely organ free.
