    I have a 2021 Rebel 1100 DCT nearing 15000 miles, and even done 100 several times and never had any type of wobble... its still so smooth. I haven't done anything to get past the 100 limit yet (which is doable). I have seen several people with European versions who do not have that limit on it, so I don't think Honda does that except for some market or possibly governmental reasons.

    I got the Speedohealer for it I've had it up to 122 mph in 5th gear. Since I've changed the rear tire and added a bunch of accessories so it's heavier I haven't had a single wobble! The bike will now do at least 130 mph now.

    As a young kid, id dream of going as fast as possible. As a middle aged man, I'm out to cruise and anything above 80-85 is asking for trouble. Not sure why youd need to go 90+ for a sustained period of time on a cruiser like this.

  • @longflyer63

    Hi, for a physical matter I think you have to use the windshield so that the rider's air resistance vector is reduced in favor of that of the windshield growth which, however, is placed further forward and will not cause the front wheel to lift. Thanks for your test.

  • @Nanotick1

    Make sure the front and rear tires are perfectly in-line. Don't trust the frame marks. And keep that front tire pressure on the firm side. Standing still, hold the bike up right and shake the bike and see if its wobbly or loose feeling. Look at swing arm and steering bushings to see if they're loose.

  • @rpontonjr

    Any naked / small fairing bike can have "high speed wobble" if you let the wind buffet your body around and feed back into the steering. With the Rebel 1100, given the cruiser-ish ergonomics, you have to lean forward and hunch down a little at high speeds. If you lean back easy rider style, the wind is going to give you trouble.

      No motorcycle should have a high speed wobble.

    • @EvanEdwards
      @EvanEdwards 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @@raybrensike42 At 300 mph, all street bikes do. So it is just a matter of what speed the wobble starts. For the Rebel 1100, most people report it at over or about 100mph (170kph). Which is where the limiter kicks in, probably by intent. You can override the limiter with various hardware modifications, and people do ride faster. Some have reported that it is actually the stock front tire that is the culprit, which makes sense: over 100 miles an hour, your tread and tire becomes a factor.
      I don't think anybody has reported a high speed wobble as being typical for any Rebel at any legal traffic speed or even de facto "this is a typical speed on this highway." The people reporting it are talking about occurring when doing substantially faster that surrounding traffic or on tracks. And, as I started with, the question is not if it will develop a wobble, but when. If you don't, your engine just isn't powerful enough to get fast enough.
      As I don't ride for speed, it doesn't affect me at all. Getting safely up to 99mph is plenty of margin that I'll likely never use, and in the weird oddball emergency (getting away from a road rage filled idiot like the one that intentionally hit Quasimotard recently), I have that margin.

    I just came back today from a short ride and on our local private road absolutely no problems at top speed and yes the front does get a bit lighter but my fairing ( Honda Batwing ) seems to cancel the effect out while still getting up to the top speed also I found as I speed up I naturally lean into the tank which also helps keep the front down.

    • @jerryshea4906

      That is not the whole story. It wasn’t JUST TIRES. Way more riders have wore the stock rubber out with zero problems then the few that have. It SEEMS like “a lot” because the internet is great at consolidating isolated problems and making it look like the whole world has the same problem. The front end is SUPER light and under sprung. If more people knew how to properly understand tire pressure, and suspension set up this wouldn’t be an issue

  • @mikehancock6280
    @mikehancock6280 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The weight bias is more rearward there for the faster you go the more wind is lifting the front and bringing instability. Honda knows this that’s why the 100 mph governor.

    Somebody should really investigate this. Check steering head bearings, see if there is supposed to be preload to them, see if they have worn a notch, check tire pressure, balance and wear, try new tires, try it with a heavy load on the back, try it with a passenger, put weight on the front fender, what else? I've heard numerous complaints, but not much in terms of real answers yet, unless it's just rear suspension preload, poor shocks, or worn tires. Try respringing the front forks, whatever. I hope somebody figures it out. I've been looking at the Honda 1100 to possibly buy one. Does it go away or get worse if you use the front brake, or use the rear brake?

    The only type of wobble that I've seen confirmed. At speed of around 80 mph when in sport mode, heavy accel to max speed. I'm talking full twist. The front tire lifts when the soft rear digs in. It just seems to make the front end light. People with saddle bags seem to have a worse effect. Though compared to all other speed wobbles of every other bike I've watched. This is nothing. Not sure if the newer models still have the same problem. But new tires and upgraded suspension removed their issue.
