Such an amazing rendition! I love to see the emotional physicality of this conductor, Ms. Bihlmaier. The pain reflected in the piece can be read in her countenance (2:48, 3:16). The results are just so intensely emotional. It reminds me of the late Giuseppe Sinopoli who conducted with similar emotions. Thank you for sharing!!
You see here...that it is not enough just to gather professional musicians and it is not enough for them just to play the notes. There has to be an idea embodied by the conductor and subsequently by the whole team. We lack it here. We hear some nice well-eaten, well-placed musicians in a warm concert hall. Oh yes, they play the score, but that is not the problem. It doesn't feel they are able to feel inspiration, pain, compassion or anything that makes the soul better...
