From what I read Sorn had to put a PowerPoint presentation together and they went in to company to sell them on how it would be more beneficial to move away from a cute concept and toward the edgier concept which you’ve seen so far. She has made it clear that even though the company has ended the contract, the members do not consider themselves to be disbanded.
Such an iconic CLC song. Before that, CLC used to do a cute type of sound, so Hobgoblin is they first GirlCrush concept (more mature). You should react to "No" and "Devil", Coach is gonna love it!!!
Big CLC enjoyer myself with some pointers for Mrs. Coach for the girl with the voice that she likes. Her name is Seunghee and highly underrated. She has an amazing voice. You, and everyone else for that matter, can check out their (Sorn + Seunghee + Yeeun) 100% live performance of 'Mamamoo - Mr Ambiguous' on Kiss The Radio. Where she just pops off hard. For a solo performance, she has a solo version of a CLC song called 'Where Are You'. Absolutely gorgeous song in her version.
Funny story about this one M&Mrs. I love CLC. I grew up many years ago in a small town called Nowata Oklahoma. I heard all the jokes that naturally entail for years. Then I heard this song and said finally Nowata is on the map boys.❤😮😁😁😁😁
Other songs you could react to from CLC: their debut song "PEPE" , "NO" and their whole 8th EP NO.1 which is really good along with their 5th Mini EP and their b-sides Liar, Meow Meow. Also, "BLACK DRESS" if you haven't
IU's MV for 'Love Wins All' is a metaphor for CLC members escaping Cube Entertainment ...or not ;) This is still one of my favourite CLC songs - such a switch up from everything they released before.
Mamamoo and CLC constantly fight each other for my favorite girl group spot. Try their song “No” there is a dance practice with subtitles if you don’t want to do the MV. “No” was the song they got their first award for. Their company “Cube” is known for screwing over their artists. “Hobgoblin” was huge when it came out, CLC had a real chance of winning artist of the year that year, but Cube took all the money they made from that MV and put it towards another group instead.
Fun! I don't know whether the vocals were recorded while they were performing this complex, excellently choreographed dance routine, (If they were, when did they have time to breathe?) but whether they were or not, they were beautifully sung. Like you, I was focused on the visuals and vocals, and didn't give a thought to the subtitles to follow the lyrics. I didn't need to, to enjoy the performance
If you want a great performance from a great group then Viviz is the best choice. The song is "Untie ". These 3 ladies are former Gfriend menbers . Thanx
@@CoachCastTV that's how it was when I started thanks to them, I got to know K-pop, the first song I heard was this Hobgoblin in 2017, all their songs are good like Helicopter, No, Black Dress, Me, Devil, Like it, I like it, and more, their No.1 album for is one of the best I've heard in K-pop, it has its performances too.
CLC had to promote themselves so much bcs Cube didn’t. They had to do soo much on their own to even get to shoot an mv.. it’s so sad that they disbanded
Yeah, the "seven-year curse" - there can be issues within the group, or the company decides not to renew, or a combination of both, etc. Those are really long first contracts, and you can bet that they're not favorable to the artists, so maybe the members of CLC were asking for more than the company was willing to provide (meaning they wanted to be paid fairly), and the company didn't want to do that for whatever reason. The K-pop industry can be a little (?) predatory, starting with young/new artists and signing them to such long contracts, then abandoning them when it runs out because they have a new batch that they can underpay. I suspect that some companies, though, will write a superseding contract for groups that are successful that ups their pay and benefits a bit so that they have a better chance of re-signing them - groups like Twice and Blackpink, for instance. What happened with CLC seems to remain a mystery.
Cube gave up on CLC long before their contracts were up. Consider that their last album release was No.1 which happened before their 4th anniversary. After that, CLC released 2 singles: Me and Devil during their 5th year as a group. Their final release: Helicopter dropped during their 6th year. Immediately after Helicopter's promotions ended, it was revealed via Elkie's lawsuit that Cube had already informed the CLC members that the company wasn't providing any further support/funding/materials to the group. This is why all of the promotions for Helicopter were basically handled by Sorn herself. Elkie's lawsuit basically claimed that if Cube wasn't going to invest in CLC's career, she should be released early from her 7-year contract (she and Eunbin joined the group later, so they still had more than 3 years on their contracts). That and she did some acting which Cube did not pay her her percentage of that work. In short, CLC's demise isn't much of a mystery. The saddest part is that Cube's latest group: Lightsum seems to be headed for the same misfortune as CLC.
@@Urracht The mystery is why CUBE did that to a successful group. Companies are all about making money - CLC was making them money. Good businesses don't generally deliberately sabotage things that are making them money. It doesn't make any business sense unless there were internal factors that we don't know about.
@@mikkj1 I'd argue that Cheshires have a tendency to color our opinion of the facts. It could be argued that CLC wasn't really making Cube much money. From Cube's standpoint, they had (G)I-dle whose debut album sold over 58,000 copies and almost simultaneously, CLC's Black Dress sold 8,000. Then even with Soyeon taking time away from (G)I-dle to compose "No" for CLC, that only managed to raise their sales to 12,000. When (G)I-dle's second album sold 56,000 copies, it became pretty clear where their best return on investment was.
@@Urracht Also, for fans, it can be difficult to accept that there might have been issues within the group. Given possible NDA's and S. Koreas anti-defamation laws which allow someone to sue - and win - even if what was said was true, a lot of idols probably just stay silent. If, as you say, they were struggling to increase sales, those things could be exacerbated. Not saying it was their fault, but these types of factors can compound. It's sad because all of these idols put so much into just getting to debut, so I always wish the best for them, but not everyone is going to succeed.
@mikkj1 I do not know what do you mean or what you referred to as internal problems within the group. Would you like to elaborate on that point? Do you mean there are issues within the group such as the various CLC members not getting along with each other? Or that there are jealously issues among CLC members with line distribution or promotion time with the group as promoted by the company? Would you kindly elaborate on your point?
Yes, they aren't making music together anymore. But SORN has said multiple times that the group is still "together" Basically they are still a thing but at the moment they are all doing their individual activities. Shes waiting to find a label/someone to help her to give the group a reunion/comeback. P.S: Please react to these other groups "F(x) Electric Shock", "Blackswan KARMA", "T-ARA "Roly-Poly", "You Drive Me Crazy"," KARA "Lumpin", "Mamma Mia", "CUPID", "STEP"..
Also, their management/label CUBE Entertainment did not give them that many releases or new music. Back in early 2020, the group was supposed to make a comeback with their first full album. But the CEO was basically thrown out and new management took over the label which saw the group as "unprofitable" and wanted to disband the group in late Feb 2020 but for some reason, they didn't. YEEUN participated in the survival show "Good Girl" and got some attention. The group had their last comeback/release on Sept 2020 with "HELICOPTER", it was revealed that the members had to propose the comeback to the management and it got approved. This shows that the label wasn't interested in the group. On December, ELKIE terminated her contract with CUBE and left. She revealed that CUBE told them after the HELICOPTER comeback that they weren't going to invest in CLC activities anymore and the group was "dismissed". 2021 came up, SORN made her solo debut with "RUN" she did everything with her own money the label did not even help her with stylists etc. Yujin participated in GG9 and ended up in Kep1er she also said during the show the same thing "ELKIE' said earlier. 2022 came up and by May the group was done.
@@CoachCastTV The group formation is really talented they would been at the top of the k-pop game just like their sister group G-IDLE.
