Ahoy!! Everglow will be starting their US Tour next week. I did see that several venues were cancelled, but no clear reason why. I'm guessing ticket sales were not as good as hoped, and I heard people complained about the pricing of tickets. I wanted to go see them in Dallas, but for me the timing just didn't work out! They do put on a great show! Thanks for the reaction!
And yes, I'm not fond of how their management company promotes Everglow. They are so much better and deserve so much more than they are getting for promotions!
That's too bad that they have canceled some shows. They have been so impressive to us. Definitely top tier talent.
As someone who was going to one of the canceled shows this Sunday I can say that I dream of the day their management company walks the plank. This isn't the first tour they've done this to everglow. My guess would have to be ticket sales. When I bought mine for a small theater the prices were incrediblely high, nothing under 100 and it averaged 250+ This was probably the only time I would have ever been able to see them before they get disbanded and I'm very disappointed. The ladies don't deserve this. As for b-sides I personally like 'Oh Ma Ma God' and 'Colourz' if you want to try more recent b-sides.

They lose money when it gets canceled. Its not a good outlook when this happens. Its a small concert in theater stages. Im not trying to bring them down but they deserve a concert in mega dorms and stadiums like bigger groups. If they can’t sale out on small stages then the company needs to just start everything over and promote them better

I don't understand why Blackpink don't have more releases. They have two albums and a smattering of mini albums. For the period they have existed, that is very poor.
I do not know Everglow very well, but have been watching Pink Fantasy this week and they split this year. The song Poison combines Kpop and extreme guitar with growls that do not overcrowd.

Also there is not that much of a B-sides if you don't particl- partcula- especially.. do lyrics video. Ya have some dance practice and performance videos for song like "Colourz" "Zombie" "Adios" tho. I hope we won't have to wait 2 cycle of scurvy and 7 moons till they spit another perfect sea chanties ! I go back to dry docks 🍻

They're a great group, no doubt about that. In the spirit of pirate day, I illegally downloaded several words in this comment.
To the "lack of content", there are things like the Scarcity Principle, and oversaturation that companies take into account. I keep track of these things, and I've seen, in the comment section under new videos by top groups that have the constant comebacks, comments like "Some of the songs on this album aren't that good." by die-hard fans. The problem is that there aren't truckloads of great songs just waiting to be recorded, so, if you are having frequent comebacks, you have to fill in with songs that are just okay. And, if you have constant comebacks, the fans don't get as excited, since this is just the expected norm and not an event. It can be tricky working out a balance that satisfies everyone. Sometimes less is more, and overall excellence is better than quantity. I've noticed that more K-pop companies are increasing the time between comebacks. It used to be pretty standard to have two a year, but now, not so much. Too much can actually depress sales and lead to a drop off of fan enthusiasm, which can cause popularity to slide.
To make up for my "marketing 101" paragraph ;) I'll alert you that Hwasa (Idle) has a new video out - Na - that I know Coach will like.
Well done on pirating the words, we hope you used a VPN. That's a valid take on the quantity vs. quality and finding a balance to satisfy the majority.

I don't want to run this into the ground, but I just want to wrap this up. Using Blackpink as THE example of a small catalogue, there are a few points I'd like to highlight.
First off, as a Blink, I absolutely wish they had more content, but, as someone whose experience was in this field, there's another side to this:
Starting with The Album, I found clips of local and national news channels all over the world noting that "World famous K-pop group Blackpink is releasing their first full album and will be going on a world tour.", and then, when the tour schedule was announced, news channels reporting that they were coming to their city. That was because when BP did anything it was an event, and, therefore, newsworthy. That kind of organic publicity can't be bought - it's priceless. The other thing is that we can't know that, if BP had released more music, whether it would have helped them or hurt them. It's possible that more would have, as I mentioned, cut down hype around everything they did, and therefore dampened sales and concert attendance. Not saying it would have, but that it might have - we have no way of knowing. The bottom line on this, is that we can dislike the way YG handled BP all we want, but - it worked. We just have to look at where they are and what they've accomplished. It's why I don't usually get into discussions about this, there are too many variables. There are all kinds of paths to success, and I tend not to question those that succeed.
This is in no way because of your comment on Everglow's catalogue, that's perfectly valid, it's just something that's been on my mind since 2019 when I got into K-pop, and I just wanted to get it out. ;) Thanks for listening.
@@mikkj1 Yeah, it's a valid point. We read a lot of comments about people saying they wished there had been more activity in many groups, not just this one, both in albums and concerts. It's hard to say when the point of diminishing returns is reached, as you noted.
I know you said that you've exhausted all of Everglow's title tracks. However, they do have a lesser known song ("Promise") for which they filmed a music video. It's not considered a title track, because the song was written and performed as part of a charity campaign for UNICEF. Personally, I think (G)I-DLE's 'Super Ladie' used the main melody of PIRATE. I doubt if this is the same act as the looting committed by pirates in the past.
For your information, when the song was released, one of the members left the band and their ordeal began. A year later, she joined the band again and they became a complete band, but I don't feel like they're back in shape. Until then, they were a formidable rival to Dreamcatcher. (It's just from my personal point of view, of course.)
I look forward to them stabilizing from the next song.

Listen, music has been cooking since before recorded history; as a result, EVERYTHING has already been done in that field.
If you, thinking yourself so intelligent, put ANY two notes together using ANY combination of instruments, guaranteed that you are still doing something that has already been done a billion times before you were ever born. So don't get it twisted about 'who-did-what-first' because that answer is lost to pre-history, it was never recorded by technology. It's a moot point, so drop it.

Now let's talk about the song, mateys! Pirates is the titletrack that ventures into foreign waters for me. I honestly have a hard time with the hook and the more EDM-y parts of the song. However, the pre-chorus and the bridge are great! Some of my favorites from them. So this puts me in sort of a dilemma. Do I like the song or not? Aye! Is it my favorite? Argh, no!
