I am from Guangzhou and welcome everyone to visit Guangzhou, where many people from different countries live here.I finished watching the video and saw a friend in the video.
Great video as always. And yes, I would say more than half the people in Guangzhou have roots in other parts of China so the food choices are quite cosmopolitan.
Wow I’m watching this channel after a year! Great to see ya’ll are still here. The last video I saw was like a video where you guys were supposed to leave china.
Absolutely loved your video! As a local from Guangzhou, it was so refreshing to see my hometown through your eyes. You two captured the essence of our culture and city beautifully. Guangzhou welcomes you.
This doesn't look like a foreigner, it looks more like a local. Generally, tourists will go to the check-in location to play. The place in the video is already a local living area, although there are many hidden treasures, it is also difficult to find! That's amazing!
I am a Chinese born in Guangzhou, I am very happy to be able to see our city in your videos, Guangzhou is a city with a long history and culture, I hope you all you can fall in love with it and enjoy the food and culture here, welcome to be our guest in Guangzhou!❤❤
Guangzhou was the capital of the Nanyue Kingdom 南越古國founded by Qin Dynasty 秦朝 general Zhao Tuo 趙佗 when he was sent by Qin Shihuang 秦始皇 to conquer the Baiyue (Hundred Yue) 百越 in the southern China. Yue (Viet in Vietnamese) means “southern region of Yangtze River” 越就是長江以南的地方。Zhejiang and Jiangsu provinces used to be called Wu Yue 吳越。Fujian province used to be called Min Yue 閩越(where Southern Min dialect originated 閩南話)。Guangdong and Guangxi provinces and northern Vietnam used to be called Nan Yue (Nam Viet in Vietnamese) 南越。General Zhao Tuo (Trieu Da in Vietnamese) founded not just the Nanyue Kingdom, but also the Zhao Dynasty 趙朝代 (Trieu Dynasty in Vietnamese) of Vietnam marking the beginning of the one thousand year rule of Vietnam by China until the Tang Dynasty 唐朝. The name Vietnam comes from reversing the two Chinese characters of the Nan Yue Kingdom (Nam Viet Kingdom) founded by Zhao Tuo to Viet Nam (Yue Nan in Mandarin). Guangzhou has two of the world’s earliest mosques Huaisheng Mosque and Xianxian Mosque, founded in 620’s during the Tang Dynasty (608-917AD) right after the founding of Islam. There is a Museum of Nanyue King Mausoleum in Guangzhou for the grandson of Zhao Tuo, who succeeded him as the second king of the Nan Yue Kingdom. Shunde is the ancestral home of Bruce Lee, and also my paternal ancestral home. I was born in Guangzhou and raised and currently live in USA. Guangzhou is the capital of Cantonese culture, language and cuisine. But Shunde is where they train Cantonese chefs. HK and Macau also adopt Cantonese cuisine and modify them along with some western British and Portuguese styles. If you want some more historical sites, check out Whampoa Military Academy 黃埔軍校舊址 founded by Dr. Sun Yat Sen, the founder of modern China, and Huanghuagang Mausoleum of the 72 Martyrs 黃花崗七十二烈士墓。 Zhixin High School 執信中學 (a famous exam school in China) and Dr. Sun Yat Sen University 中山大學 were also founder by Dr. Sun Yat Sen. So you got ancient historical sites and modern China historical sites in Guangzhou to pay some visits. Enjoy. ❤❤❤ PS. Rice noodles fen (pho in Vietnamese) was also invented at the same time General Zhao Tuo conquered the Baiyue people. The soldiers missed noodles from northern China, so they used rice plentiful in the wet south to create rice noodles. People mistakenly think rice noodles is “Vietnamese pho”. It’s actually Chinese. Another famous Cantonese dish 乾炒牛河 (gan chao niu he) dried fried beef and wide rice noodles, the “he”河 refers to “hefen “ 河粉, a type of rice noodles originated from the Shahe District 沙河 of Guangzhou. So Shahe fen 沙河粉 is shortened to Hefen 河粉, used for that famous Cantonese dish. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Huaisheng_Mosque en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xianxian_Mosque en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Museum_of_the_Mausoleum_of_the_Nanyue_King en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nanyue

Very interesting to watch your video from my hometown Guangzhou, Thank you very much! we lived on QingPing Road before moving to Europe and California.

4:50 that's a Banyan tree a native to india. It's called king of all tress and national tree of india because of high oxygen realsing capacity. Thimmamma Marrimanu (Telugu: తిమ్మమ్మ మర్రిమాను, lit. "Thimmamma's Banyan Tree") is a banyan tree in Anantapur, located about 25 kilometers from Kadiri, Andhra Pradesh, India . In the Telugu language, "marri" denotes "banyan" and "manu" denotes "trunk".Its canopy covers 19,107 m2 (4.721 acres), and it was recorded as the largest tree specimen in the world in the Guinness Book of World Records in 1989. The tree is revered by the people of Dharmic religions alike, namely, Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, and Sikhism.
You have to go to the Guangdong Museum. Guangzhou is a commerce city indeed, but it’s the history that makes this city so great. The museum is for free and definitely worth a long day visit, just remember to make an online appointment on its website the day before.
Some of the most modern bldgs , and old city areas , food is especially good n plenty options.Safety , transport , services world class. Affordable to live. Ppl r very friendly. Lots of shopping. Great city.

Those are Lingzhi/Ganoderma mushrooms, they are packed with antioxidants and are thought to help the immune system. They're the subject of a bunch of studies that show medical promise
✨ Nico dear, @6:05 ...the trees don't grow those branches down, rather they are grown upwards during the night, when the world has turned. So when the world turns back in the morning, they just look like they grew down. 😇
04:10, I'm just glad that the authorities are make steps now to address the noise level before it becomes a bigger issue... when the construction is finished and the aunty groups grow. "In a crowded house.. there will be more rules... in order to keep the peace." Good on you China to trying to be proactive. 🦉☯ I've seen too many problems in different parts of the world that don't have foresight as to how things can get out of hand - take for example squatter rights, a slap on the hand for theft and/or selling of illegal drugs.
Changfun in Guangzhou is very rough. Good taste and all but there's no class in it. It lacks a delicate touch that can be found in those in Hong Kong or overseas Chinese communities
Thanks for this video. In coming july i will go to meet my girlfriend in Guangzho, from Holland. I would appreciate to know more practical information about nice hotels to stay and using train ,mobile phone and using bank card. Do i need to take Chinese cash with me? Succes Thanks a lot. 🙏

Great upload. China has changed so much since I was there. I love the mix of architectual styles you show in the opening bit. Stay classy Nico

Next are Seafood hot-pot Congee, seafood vermicelli, and old fire soup 1

The soy sauce we used is called "first round of soy sauce", which tastes not just salty but with a little natural sweetness.
Oooh thanks for that!

Jack speaks Chinese so well!
I was in Guangzhou for a few days last year, but forgot to check out the stamp market, you mentioned in a previous video. Must try next year

Parks in china always pack with aunties and uncles to do music but china’s music capital is the city you traveled not so long ago Harbin.
Guangzhou has the best Chinese food in the world!
Whoa. So attractive ❤
have to say there is also another food safe bet in china---"沙县小吃"
Cantonese food never goes wrong. Yummy
The weather was not cooperating. What a pity!🙉
could u give the adress of the changfen place ?
Amazing great China 🇨🇳 ❤
Reishi mushrooms are used to prolong life
Why don't you search the food and toilet from the map?
Failed in the food. Why not choose dim sum and wanton soup noodle
These two Laowai do know Guangzhou.
Meine Heimat❤
eventually, you guys did not eat any Guangzhou food...the vegetarian changfeng cannot be counted.
Haha, that's what I want to say as well😂
China is the future 🇨🇳💪

Changfen without meats and eggs ,will be no good.If you vegan ,you can add zha leung(油条)with changfen,it's sovery.

aha, greatest city in China.
You HAVE TO visit the Nanyue King Museum
Cantonese music should give credit to Hongkong.
Cool, enjoy the old alleys in Guangzhou👍
