      China and Africans had no problem getting along and tensions only rose when Europeans brought colonialism and their scientific racism.
      Look up the voyages of Zheng He, whereas a Chinese admiral traded alongside Africa and many other places with no racial tensions.

    China has been trading with African Kingdoms for centuries, a lot of Chinese perfume in the ancient times came from Aksumite Empire in Ethiopia for example. China and Africans had no problem getting along and tensions only rose when Europeans brought colonialism and their scientific racism.
    Look up the voyages of Zheng He, whereas a Chinese admiral traded alongside Africa and many other places with no racial tensions.

    • @Browsingandbrowsing

      @@ladymichaelis7060 scientific racism is an antiquated anthropological term that was widely used especially in the 19th century. It was a mesh of ideas from skull size to human migration and origins that concluded that the “negroid race” was more prone to violence, less impulse control, and lower intelligence
      It’s not a random definition I brought up but a very real thing brought up to justify colonialism and slavery.

      Hard to break it to you, I’m from Guangzhou and lived all my life till 18 yo there, the Chinese population in Guangzhou and the way how they treat black people can’t really represent how the whole Chinese population treat black people. Meaning as a Cantonese and a Chinese myself, I’d say Chinese are pretty racist against black people. Which I hope little by little the population can change its mind and be more friendly to anyone from anywhere in the world.

    Isn't it amazing that with such concentration of foreigners in a section of the city, you hardly see any police / security people? This is what happens when you create an environment where people have something to do to advance their interest...trading, eating, chit chatting...trading again and again. lol. Now contrast that to cities like Paris, Strasbourg, Milan or parts of London.
