    Changfren, bbq goose and bbq pork are signature dishes but there are many more in Guangzhou. Wonton noodles, dim sum, Liwan congee, stir fried beef vermicelli, clay pot rice, etc...

    I visited Guangzhou in 2017 and the food was very good. After the trip, I understand why people always say Guangzhou has the best food.

    Respect to this amateur food vlogger who had tried his best to food tour. Chengdu and Guangzhou have a similar vibe, which is the local would pay more attention to focus on their own lives and amazing food.     OMG, that roast goose is a crime! I know it's tasty just by the look of it and how thoughtful the put veg fried in goose fat with it. I'd pay anything to eat it but it's only 16 RMB - it's the food heaven.

    That chang fen was utterly delicious. IT is my favorite. Good choice to ask it plain and simple with green onions. IT is such a Cantonese delight. You can find it at Chinese restaurants around the globe serving Dim Sum.

    Glad to see my hometown in the video! Jack, that pagoda is the tower of "Liurong Temple" (六榕寺). Unlike most people, Jack seems to enjoy more of the traditional old town side of Guangzhou than the modern area of it :)

    Thank you for sharing the history on Qilou buildings in Guangzhou. I had no idea that they were so unique and part of China's colonial history. You can also find them in the Hong Kong New Territories like Sheung Shui.

    By the way, Jack. That Chang fen is named “拉布粉”。It is distinguished from normal Chang fen, it’s thin as fabric, so we call it “ pulled fabric fen”😂😂

    Shamian was the old "embassy district" in the 90s. I remember from my childhood that that old US embassy was in Shamian.

    This was an intimate view of the city, you get the idea how it would be. Well done.
    I have a respect for the older generations who engage in Tai Chi. I've participated once myself in Canada after a good workout along with my friend who was Chinese born. We both looked a bit out of place, but I enjoyed the smooth, flowing motions.
    It seems in the West we go out and dance when we are in our youthful prime, in China they do so in their Golden Years, which really makes most sense.

      Tai Chi often has one leg semi squatting that trains the quads. Old folks with strong quads can lift their legs to avoid tripping.

    Summer is hot and humid in Guangzhou, southern China, not the best time to visit the city.
    It's more pleasant to visit the city during the months of Oct to Apr where average temperature is below 25'C.
    During the winter months, temperature can drop below 10'C.

    我在广州生活了8年,在广州生活很舒服,他没有像邻居深圳那样的快节奏,想短途旅行的话,就去隔壁城市肇庆七星岩和鼎湖山,或者去香港澳门都很方便,去惠州的巽寮湾、韶关的丹霞山、江门的十里银滩都很方便,想吃美食的话,可以去隔壁的佛山,如果还想吃,可以坐高铁去潮汕,只要三个钟,当然,广州本地吃和玩的已经足够丰富了。而且作为大城市,你可以在那里无拘无束的生活,不管成功或失败,没有人会打扰你。
    对了,这里猪脚饭才是yyds,十几块钱满满的肉~

    changfen in Cantonese pronunciation is “Cheung fun”, one of my favourite dishes in the world, as well as the roasted goose 🤤 *Jack should found a better restaurant for the goose..

    这集太有意思了,Jack不走主线,玩支线,Nico不停的吐槽,哈哈,虽然你们俩没有一块到广州有点可惜,但是这种组合方式出来的视频却另有一番味道。另外,Jack这种不断跑题的随心所欲的闲逛也是一种了解当地民风的很好的方式,也挺好。

    I lived in Guangzhou about almost 10 years, if use a word to description Guangzhou.it’s absolutely ‘dramatic(positive)’. Traditional culture and modern style are well integrated. Thanks nico share this city. If you want trip in china . Guangzhou must be the place you want to come. Believe me .

    I spent little time Guangzhou as my friends just south of Guangzhou in Humen and Jiangmen do not like going to Guangzhou, maybe they just like more relaxing places.
