After five years of good services, she said to him she'd like to be paid more than a meagre 300 pounds/month. His answer? "All I need is someone who can hold a bass low enough and you're out." I would have been furious; that is straight out disrespect.

A little respect, man), and makes me feel sad there were no musician men treated that same way, even when having the potential for doing a modelling career due to their looks. I'm thinking on Dead Or Alive drummer Steve Coy or The Danse Society first singer Steve Rawlings; both of them were hot as hell in their own way (even Coy was muscular and fair as a Victorian ghost), but they were respected as musicians first rathen than just being good looking guys for a videoclip (also in tge case of DoA that was Pete Burns' job, ha).

You can tell from this clip that he is quite flirtatious with Patricia, but she is having none of it. John Leslie faced multiple allegations of rape & sexual assault later in his career*. One wonders whether he had overstepped the mark in anyway off camera, hence Patricia's prickliness towards him, and her comment that she "still works with animals". *note Leslie was never convicted, but the allegations remain.

AE was never a multinstrumentalist and he never played bass but bass tracks are very good on Floodland and NOT synthesized. Pat`s voice is heard several times on the record. Pat knew any kind of details about the recording when she was talking about it during the interviews.
