The interviewer's demeanor makes me think he is intimidated or unsure of how to handle Courtney, and Courtney picked up on that immediately. Courtney seems annoyed that someone much younger than she, having not done his research on her career, is asking her questions in a judgmental tone, like a prosecutor. "You're a stable person?" People, if you want someone to open up about personal things with you, make them feel special. Talk to them like you actually want to hear what they have to say. Make them feel like a person and not someone on trial.

This reminds me of when someone is on Lithium for Bipolar Disorder which many people in recovery are diagnosed with. It cause people to slur their words and be sleepy-like but that is usually when the doc hasn't leveled things out yet. This is a woman trying her best to get it together and remain professional in her artistic profession and being very raw and vulnerable and I really hope people can realize this and appreciate it. People say "get sober, get help" and sometimes this is what it looks like.

This interviewer was pinning a narrative about her onto her from the outset, which is why this was so awkward, doubled with the fact that he'd caught her on a bad day. The interviewer's demeanor makes me think he is intimidated or unsure of how to handle Courtney, and Courtney picked up on that immediately. Courtney seems annoyed that someone much younger than she, having not done his research on her career, is asking her questions in a judgmental tone, like a prosecutor. "You're a stable person?"
People, if you want someone to open up about personal things with you, make them feel special. Talk to them like you actually want to hear what they have to say. Make them feel like a person and not someone on trial.

Fast forward 2 years later, after Nevermind came out, Kurt was worth millions and was being called the voice of a generation. And he was about to end the marriage and leave that miserable bitch.
This was right before her new album was about to drop and Kurt was the biggest rock star in the world at the time. Being severed from all the success and riches that Nirvana was bringing in would have devastated her career. After his death, every magazine and radio show in the world wanted to talk to her. From Barbara Walters to Howard Stern. Everybody was talking about the tragic rock-n-roll widow of the tortured poet, Kurt Cobain. And of course, the album became an instant legend, having been released the month after Kurt's death.

the long pauses are akward and uncomfortable. she is doing her best to fabricate her story. i feel a lack of sincerity from her. i think she is high during interview. not lack of sleep.
When she says "clean" I think she just means off heroin. I don't think she counts vicodin, xanax, adderral, miscellaneous painkillers she shouldn't have a prescription for, or alcohol.

Why is everyone being so awful to her? If I knew I had a personal interview and the world had a harsh view of me, I wouldn't sleep the night before either... she seems like any normal woman who didn't sleep the entire night and is tired. Maybe she's a bit down, but look at what she's had to deal with... hard to stay positive with how rude the interviewer is being and how the world has treated her.

@@shayburton4104 idk much about her or Kurt Cobain.. I just see what I see. Probably a daughter to narcissistic parents and always gave herself to others to love and express love freely (psych 101 😬😂🙌 + personal experience 😬). I know how hard it is for "normal" people to understand, but I also know what it's like to fear you've become your fears, so who knows what she's done since the world turned on her 🤷♀️, but she deserves love and respect regardless

Listen to pretty much any Nirvana song, read the lyrics... imagine achieving everything and being even more alone because of it and having so many "fans" while you're just trying to get a get a feeling out/ see if there's anyone out there like you 🤷♀️
