i was very happy to see that too, as well as him having nice things to say about depeche mode, since i really love both bands... there's something almost reassuring about seeing your favourite artists support each other
@@theculturebunker I thought that, but Gary Marx, Wayne Hussey and Craig Adams all seem to have nice things to say about him - they don't so much think he's an asshole as wonder why he made things so difficult for himself.
@@Morphstock that's unusual... seems like he holds more against them than the other way around. which i guess depicts him as a bit difficult but yeah he's not that bad i don't get what people are so mad about
I've never understood why people don't like him. He's just really dry and sarcastic. I find his humour is hilarious... people are just too sensitive, I suppose?
yeah, i guess he can appear a bit harsh sometimes because he's very direct about his opinions, but it's not like the stuff he says is actually problematic or meant as offensive
he can definitely come across as arrogant sometimes but it's not like he actually thinks he's better than everyone...he's pretty self-conscious . i feel like people don't really get his sense of humour and take everything he says too seriously
The guy isn't evil in any sense. But he's sarcastic, ironic and has a quite wierd and dry sense of humor. And i tend to read his behaviour as being quite introverted to, not really comfortable with the chitchat part of things.
MICAHEL JACKSON tried to become andrew eldritch, shows how monumental Andrew was, so original, I also sort of identify with him, he's a loner beyond words, bet he never married.
i was never an mj fan, but i love andrew:) i think the last time he answered a question about his marital status he was living with his gf and cats (goals)
Never thought he was evil, but a genius *definitely!* 💜 Some typicals don't get his intelligence /dry humour or appreciate his crystal cynicism /truth [I 𝗟𝗢𝗩𝗘 it. Maybe it's an ASD thing]- & other oiks just read 3rd hand comments, never met him but feel entitled to snark-! Jealous perhaps. Hussey & a legion of others tried to be him, but arn't a teenth as smart, talented or original. & they lacked the cheekbones.
Why, at the age of 53, does Andrew Eldritch praising The Stone Roses give me so much joy? Maybe I was right about my music choices all these years...

HE'S NOT EVIL!!! you're so right.. he's just a weirdo that's not a crime.. i love grandpa
so true! i think people judge him way to harshly and superficially, especially in comparison to some other musicians
I like him and his opinion.
I do not think he is arrogant,he is just very CLEAR and many people cannot cope with that !
true i think many people just want to hear the sugarcoated version of things
I've read the Paint My Name In Black And Gold book and I was surprised at how nice everyone was about him.
i haven't read those but i definitely have to! i think most people who consider him an asshole are som fans and some of the people he's worked with

This is great, he can be an arrogant prick at times so this is refreshing to see. Nothing changes the fact the music is king, king, king, KING! 😎

7:05 why is this part so sweet ;3;

I sometimes wonder if he’s on the spectrum; highly cynical, often rude, doesn’t enjoy crowds and other weird mannerisms
would not surprise me at all tbh
also the eye contact issues
I used to idolize him until I saw some of these interviews. I wouldn't go as far as calling him evil, just bloody arrogant.
@@rijmertspreeth4575 No, he’s certainly not what I would call evil, just socially inept and cynical
Una voz prediligiada

yeah cheekbones are kind of the essence of the genre
Doing a presentation on him for school (love him but have to pretend hes awful)
i'd definitely love to hear a presentation on andrew, or give one although i generally don't like giving presentations..anyways good luck with that!
'ℎ𝑎𝑣𝑒 𝑡𝑜 𝑝𝑟𝑒𝑡𝑒𝑛𝑑 ℎ𝑒𝑠 𝑎𝑤𝑓𝑢𝑙' - eh?! Have to pretend lies are truth, 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑦 made me do it..
