- In this edited live stream, I do a couple upgrades to Iron Man by Stern Pinball (SAM System). Follow along as I open things up and swap parts out! These are some easy upgrades anyone can do themselves.
First, I upgrade the sound by installing Flipper Fidelity speakers in both the backbox and cabinet.
Second, I upgrade the display by swapping out the stock red LED display for a ColorDMD LCD display.
Stay tuned for part two in which we will fix up a few things on the playfield!

Such a cool display. Another fun stream 👍👍
Fantastic tutorial. Very informative. Im going to give this a go on my stern pirates
Thanks! Glad it was helpful!
I love these.
Good morning! I just bought an Iron Man 2010. And I want to install new speakers like the ones you installed. Please pass on their specifications
You changed out or removed the cheapy looking whiplash / War Machine right?😊 Also do this in a moment for mine, searching for some better quality ones, bit difficult
The two figurines were removed by the previous owner and stored in the cashbox - I never bothered to reinstall them! The game did look a bit bare that way, but the whiplash one in particular can impede your visibility so I didn't mind much. My number one recommended upgrade for Iron Man is powder-coating the cabinet trim - I may make a video on that at some point!
@@abpinball Ah ok! Ja would be nice, so youre iron man is still with you? Mine got all chrome and get some new figures, better quality ones :)
Thank you for your video, i want to install the same color dmd for my vault edition too.
You paid it 423 $ right?
I bought it a long time ago and used it on a different game before Iron Man, but yes I think it was around the 400$ price point.
Please pass the DMD color specification as well. Hug
For speakers I like Flipper Fidelity's kits - see flipperfidelity.com/iron-man/
