    I have a 5 ft bed and am looking at buying a similar size bike but also haul a holiday trailer, Is there anyway you could haul your bike corner to corner with the front wheel turned all the way?

    • @corradettimotorsports360
      @corradettimotorsports360  ปีที่แล้ว

      I no longer have this truck so I won't be able to experiment! The 5ft bed is super small, angling it straight-on will not work, but never tried turning the wheel to get the gate to close, you can always try it. It's the main reason why these pedestals were made, to get the bike to be transported in the rear of the truck while closing the tailgate! Let me know how you make out!

    Do you think I could fit a 250f and a 85 in the bed of a Chevy Silverado 1500 with the tailgate up

    • @corradettimotorsports360
      @corradettimotorsports360  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      yes, very easily, especially if you had a 6.5 foot box or larger

    Good effort. I have a Tundra crewmax so this looks like a reasonable device. Ball park figure would be useful. Also they look to be made of Aluminium?

    • @corradettimotorsports360
      @corradettimotorsports360  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      They are made in Canada (Alberta) and are 100% Aluminum, I just bought another pair, but contemplating on mounting them in my F350! but if not, they will go in my Crewmax Tundra as well.

    My issue that I sometimes face, is that my truck seats 5 people including me. If all more than two of us have bikes and want to ride, its hard to find space in the bed. I currently have a hitch carrier that carries 2 dirt bikes. Problem is that I need to let the tailgate down to carry a 3rd or more bikes. The tailgate wont go down enough with two dirtbikes on the hitch carrier.

      I’m not sure what kind of truck you have but in my Ford maverick I am able to fit 3 full sized dirt bikes with the tailgate down. Two facing forward and one facing back. My bed is 4ft wide and 4.5 long. 6ft long with the tailgate down. It is kinda tight on space and we end up putting the gear bags on the roof but I am still able to carry everything.

      Most trucks with a bit if finesse can haul 3 easily! there are a few tricks, I got another TH-cam Channel called Soupy Socks Enduro, I will make some videos in the next month to show you some tricks!

      @@lucasr.3652 it's a Tacoma Double Cab Short Bed. I can fit a big wheel 85cc bike in the bed if i angle it right. A full sized 125, 250, or larger dirt bike will not fit in this manner. It is way easier to use a hitch carrier than it is to put 2 or 3 bikes in the bed. The hitch carrier holds two. Plus I don't really have a ramp. I also have other gear in the bed that would otherwise need to be strapped down. Inconvenient for me.

    I'd say let's kiss any current fork seals goodbye with this setup. Great vid if this is what your after!

    • @corradettimotorsports360
      @corradettimotorsports360  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I use a fork saver to reduce the pressure on the seals, so far I had no problems!

  • @christobey4198

    Couldn't you just set the rear tire on the top of the tailgate for free?

    • @corradettimotorsports360
      @corradettimotorsports360  ปีที่แล้ว

      yes, I have done it but then you can't open the tailgate without repositioning the bike!

  • @erikostmark3327
    @erikostmark3327 ปีที่แล้ว

    I would do it in the front and back then have the entire bed to use and keep the bike flat lol

    • @corradettimotorsports360
      @corradettimotorsports360  ปีที่แล้ว

      This was meant for those who haul bikes and trailers at the same time, good for compact trucks or trucks with small beds and still needing cargo space!

  • @thomaswilliams9844
    @thomaswilliams9844 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Creative but it sure looks goofy and award looking with bike in the truck. Also your going to be wresting with the Tacoma bed mat every time. I see the bed mat is rolled up half way like a taco in each corner.

    • @corradettimotorsports360
      @corradettimotorsports360  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I made adjustments to the bed, so it fits a lot better, its a great product that is gaining in popularity!

    looks like a huge waste of time and money,I can load 2 bikes in my tacoma and have gear bags in the back without any useless "devices" like this

    • @corradettimotorsports360
      @corradettimotorsports360  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      its mostly meant if you tow a trailer and need the tailgate to be closed, I found it to be great in that area.
