This level of well-written poetry is something I have only ever seen matched by one other TH-camr (Fawful’s Minion), and while he can definitely match you when it comes to cinematic storytelling, he primarily focuses on comedy. Your editing, while not the flashy, refined stuff that many other channels use, is brilliantly paced and perfectly timed. I saw your previous video on Hollow Knight’s areas, and if you are able to put such thought and passion into other stuff going forward, then you have the chance to become incredibly successful, and potentially even thought of amongst the like of Mossbag and Fireb0rn as one of THE TH-camrs associated with Hollow Knight. This is one of the best ranking videos, not just in the Hollow Knight community, but on all of TH-cam! The atmosphere, phrasing, and overall aesthetic of the entire video are absolutely perfect- I can’t even fully explain it! I love how you breakdown every single entry and analyze each boss through all their characteristics, such as the boss room, rewards, location, lore, music, and moveset. This level of detail is what made the video so special for me. I've watched a lot of similar videos, but this one is by far the best. You can really feel the passion and soul you put into creating it. You did a very great job!
This has to be the best boss ranking for hk on youtube. This video was so perfectly made I am surprised you only have 2k subs. This is the quality I would expect from a channel with over a million subs. If you continue content creation you have a high likelyhood of major success

They put NKG there, sisters of battle, or whatever, but the meaning THK has to me and how the story ends with such an emotional fight is simply incredible. I don't have the time now to watch the full video, but tomorrow I'll see the whole video, because this only choice deserves it.
I like THK, but I wish it wasn’t such a pushover, maybe hornet could come in earlier for dream no more, and the THK has a harder last phase where it won’t stagger as much or smth
@-fireball65- Not really. When maxed of upgrades THK is super easy. Hornet comes in the right time, and honestly it doesn't matter how much hp THK has at that point, because at the fight with radiance you get your hp back.
@ I wasn’t maxed out, and and THK took me ~5 attempts, with only one of those being in its second phase phase. In dream no more, THK feels like more of a nuisance, and you can just spam it with quick slash bc you don’t need to heal before radiance

I love the mantis lords and sisters of battle. I understand only placing them at 3rd, but I have an emotional connection to these three mantises. First of all, they were the boss that opened my eyes to the beauty and difficulty to the game. From the intriguing setting, to the stress inducing soundtrack. Ive always loved the mantis lords. I kept going because I kept telling myself "if I can beat mantis lords I can beat anything." And here I am as 112% and all achievements player. Also mantises are really cool and I wanna hug them and make them soup
I wholeheartedly agree with this, and before scoring everything I fully expected Mantis Lords to be number one. It’s my favourite boss fight ever. But what set it back was the setting and lore around the boss, which is (sadly) lacking compared to those ranked higher. I would also like soup please
I gotta say, the top three are utter masterpieces. In terms of sheer enjoyment of the boss they are the most interchangeable, but damn if it doesn’t take away from any of them. I remember on my first playthrough finding NKG relatively early-ish and struggling until I finally beat him with 5 hours of trying and 20 hours of grinding for the best gear under my belt lol. Mantis Lords were my favorite boss the game and then in p5 when they all got up together……. Yeah I knew I was ready for a butt kicking (but i forgive them as it was the most fun I’ve had in long time) and the Hollow Knight……. My first completion of this boss had me tearing up. Pure Vessel…. Yeah, them too,, as they ended a large amount of my P4 runs, but again, it was greatly enjoyable. Wonderfully crafted video, it was very enjoyable to listen to (the script is very well made and the narration is stellar :D )

Absolutely incredible video about an absolutely incredible game, but while is love the hollow knight to no extent, my personal favorite fight is the Failed Champion, and here's why: 1: it's a remake to an already incredible fight. 2: the fight is awesome, its so fast but also so simple, letting the player learn the fight and easily and still feel cool doing it. Incorporating the ceiling balls into the fight just adds so much too. 3: the OST is cool, its a cool OST. 4: the pathetic maggots leaning over the corpse adds so much moral depth to what your doing and to what you're about to do, invade their literal minds and slaughter them from within. 5: the lore of the false knight (which is incredible) gets added to, making one of my favorite video game stories ever outside the souls games. 6: The lesson we as people learn, the False Knight stealing the power of the strongest of the knights, and still failing. There is just so much you can make out of this, a social hierarchy, hate crimes, bullying, I feel like I can actually relate to this insect, and that this insect can relate to my life. 7: Did I mention the actual fight, its absolutely incredible and my favorite in the entire game bar none.

Incredible video. I love how you focus not just on the gameplay and technical aspects, but the overall feel and atmosphere of the game as a first time and casual player. Your narration is incredibly satisfying to listen to, and your script writing is incredible! You put everything so succinctly and justify your placements beautifully. Also the intros for moss charger and gruz mother took me out
The editing on this is awesome! The OST, the zoom, the camera movements, the hiding of the UI… and the most important thing, your personal additions and passionate views. While I happily disagree with most of your ideas, I do feel that I should stand up for one… Radiance. The way I see the fight is the ultimate symbiotic unity of Movement and Combat. The boss tests not only your ability to fight, but to weave your way around and dance at heights that NKG couldn’t reach. The boss is overwhelming, a constant tide of light and emotion that captures the craze of what this deserves to be. This fight grows with you as you keep playing. From the moment you try The Radiance at the ‘end’ of the game, to when you play against Absolute Radiance, this is a new game. I loved all of the White Palace, and surely this deserves the top five, right? But not many people see the beauty of this fight. I would understand a non-top place in this ranking if Pantheon 5 was all Radiance had to offer, but it can be so much more. This fight does grow around you, from the moment you master the infinitely satisfying flight of Face Dancing to truly reach the skies (a natural step up from P5), from the moment you master the art of Nail Turnarounds, and become one of the few to master Instant Wings, this fight teaches the player so much. It doesn’t end at Absolute Radiance either - if you truly have felt the amazement of these skills, Ultimatum Radiance is not too much of a gap to jump up. The fight is fair, well paced and dare I say balanced. While Pale Prince and Infinite God Grimm are just as inventive modded fights, nothing reaches the same level of excitement than this one. I’m not claiming that I’m good at the game; many have beaten Any Radiance and I’m still stuck on the climb. But I do see that you have the desire to improve and the one thing I think you would enjoy is learning Face Dancing and fighting Ultimatum Radiance. If nothing else, search up Shrubb and watch his amazing fights. (You zoom out the camera similar to Debug Mod so I believe you should have access to it). Well done making this video!

I agree with your placement of Nosk. The lore is cool and original for a predatory enemy that is the only one of its kind in the game, the music is bestial and scary, the arena (besides the convenient platform) casts a good atmosphere with the trapped and killed vessels hanging from the cieling. and WHAT a setup. That was the first time i ever felt really and properly scared in deepnest. The disconcerting moment of "is that me???", and the dream-nail dialogue of its scattered victims, and finally the snapping locks behind you. That being said, the fight? Not too great
this is a cinematic masterpiece, THK in top one is the most valid opinion I have seen and the quality of this video is crazy good, its just a boss ranking however it feels like a movie. I reckon all the bosses on this tier list are really well thought out with their placement and couldn't be done better. however this is almost the best tier list I've seen but gorb isn't #1 (its the best tier list I've ever seen)
I really enjoyed this boss ranking. It took into consideration basically everything you could in a boss encounter. I agree with the general placement of most bosses. The only bosses I would change considerably would be oblobleles, god tamer, markoth, hive knight and nosk. You get a thumbs up. (Also abs rad and sister of battles places are switched)
hey, this is a really well made video and i agree with the general order of the rankings but just wanted to share some thoughts i had :) i think that the merging of bosses with their dream/pantheon/harder versions of themselves is an ill thought out decision that subtracts from this list for a few reasons. the lumping of two versions of the same boss that are almost objectively in different leagues of quality makes the placement of the inferior version feel forced for the sake of the superior version. take grimm/NKG for example- i can say with confidence that many people would agree regular grimm is not a top 3 boss of this game, and it feels like he is only there for the placement of NKG who imo is well ranked on this list. this logic also works the other way around too. you hit the nail on the head with the winged nosk description, even going as far as saying it's an 'objectively inferior' boss to regular nosk. in that way it doesn't make sense for winged nosk, who realistically should be somewhere in the low 30s or high 20s, to be 13th place-feels like it's only there because of the regular version of nosk. not saying it's objectively wrong to merge bosses, or that you can't do it, it's just that it raises some inconsistencies within the list that are valid to be challenged. but don't get me wrong this was a great video- i think the way you display your understanding of the lore in the boss intros is a great touch. and the section on THK was amazing- THK's moveset reflecting the themes of the boss was a really interesting interpretation that i've never seen before. hope u have a good day
Thank you for sharing your thoughts! It was definitely something I went back and forth on for a good while, because of all the points you mentioned. In the end I decided to rank the variations together for a few main reasons. 1) there are 47 bosses in all, and I knew this video was going to be a beast, so for my own sanity and script writing stamina, I leaned toward being more concise. 2) I knew that my analysis would include a good deal of comparison between the variations, so separating them in the list felt a little like I was pingponging back and forth and I wanted to keep the bosses separate and coherent to keep the video flowing. and 3) when I came to actually scoring and ranking, I found that (save a couple notable exceptions like Nosk) none of the variations would have ended up *that* far apart on the list. Including Grimm and NKG. It's a really interesting debate, I sincerely appreciate the feedback, and hope you can understand why I choose to present it the way I did. And on another day, I might well have done it differently!
@@HillJoseph hey, thanks for the response. while i still hold that the merging of bosses decreases from the net quality of this list, and would recommend against it in the future if possible, you raise good points from a video/script composing point of view that i didn't consider before; treating variations as one as a way to save time and energy to uphold the quality of the rest of the video is perfectly understandable logic. keep up the good vids, and, if you have played and enjoyed any of the fromsoftware games (dark souls trilogy, bloodborne, sekiro, elden ring etc), i would love to see similar area/boss rankings on those titles :) (play them if you haven't, they're amazing and you'll love them)
I'll definitely keep it in mind! I have indeed played most of the souls-like FromSoft Catalogue, and you are 100% correct in thinking I would love them, as I absolutely do! An Elden Ring video is in the very early stages being composed ....
I've not watched the video (yet). I'm just here to say that Radiance is my fav HK boss. I used to hate HK but now this game is one of my favorites. Radiance's theme is my favorite piece of music
I guess alle of us share a brain, in the sense that usually the top three bosses are sisters of battle, nightmare king grimm and pure vessel. Now im fine if there is a different order to it but here is my thinking. Lore wise sister of battle are not as important or previlent as the other two, so the lore. Mantis tribe: a tribe of strong willd bugs, and the three mantis lords which was four are the strongest of the strong, mightiest of them alle. Grimms troupe: there was one dream that spilt to two, raidience wich reprisented the dream, and nightmare heart wich reprisented nightmare. For it to live it must be put through a cycle of sacrifice, where the child is feed scarlet flames so many that the child can safely eat there father wich contains the nightmare heart, when the ritual is completed, the child forms a new group to find more of this nightmare essences to start the ritual oflver again. Pale rule: the pale king became a king of hallownest and the radience did not like it and started to infect his citizens, the king formed a plan and a cruel one at that. Where he basicly made the vessels to contain the infection, he choose one of the millions and the rest rotted away in the abyss. Pure vessel was trained to prime form which is the one we fight, and was ready to contain it. And everything went down hill from there. There OST is great i myself enjoy daughter of hallownest the most, and OST is not my main focus on a boss its the fight it self. Now where do i begin alle of thise fight are great if not the best hollow knight have to offer. While they are similar they do have some differences that detimend my rankings. Sister of battle start of slow with one mantis and then three where fight for your life and its great, but when you defeat the firts mantis then the difficulty significantly decreases for me and for me is something its great and makes sense but how the other bosses fare with it? NKG is hard trought and through out, the fight dose not chagr at alle but the background and the heart beat making you nervous. You might of guessed by now that i love pure vessel, i love the art, the music, the battle arena and the attacks, and what i like about the fight is the longer you fight he unlocks new attacks, sure its only two new attacks but the idea is just so cool to me.
ok, i have insane theory. This man knows the release date of silksong. yes, i know i sond like insane, but he gave so many hints, like wth. all that yapping about better enviroment, dual boss, music for each induvidual boss. yeeeee, now i see, I SEE LIGHT, I SEE FUTURE, I REMEMBER YOU!
I love the theming of the Hollow Knight stabbing itself. The Radiance was able to control it by an idea instilled, abuse the Hollow Knight's own will. But that will, the idea instilled, that it shall seal the blinding light, is still stronger than the radiance. Seeing the Knight as a true pure vessel and with the Radiance's voice screaming in it's ear the Hollow Knight has a strong enough will to over take the Radiance for a brief time and acts to kill itself as it knows its the only way to fulfill its duty of sealing that blinding light. Even if it is nothing like what was originally planned it can still finish what it started by handing its life and duty to the Knight.
i'm going to share some thoughts as i watch - i loved the section with Crystal Guardian remake XD it's absolutely hilarious, but also a bunch of cool ideas. at least in their current state CGs are two free radiants in Godhome - jeez I HATE UUMUU, i agree with everything you've said. one of the most important points in game turned into a mediocre platforming challenge, which not even Quirrel could save. and the radiant fight, don't get me started on the radiant fight- harder than Pure Vessel ngl - Marmu is fun until she steals all of my lifeblood in P5 - No Eyes loses points when you have to replay her. the atmosphere is chilling for the first time, but unbelievably annoying later. and since she likes to teleport out of range in ascended arena, the fight drags on. No Eyes might be my least favorite boss in the game - now that's a placement i disagree with, i can't find anything good about Markoth - in my opinion, the setup makes Nosk much more disappointing. we had all of this amazing buildup only to end up with a cheesable, boring fight. and Winged Nosk is just a janky Vengefly King. i would put them lower - your description of the Pale Court pulled a string within me, nice narrating - Radiance is decent, but i can't enjoy Absrad. the Godseekers took a majestic, powerful entity which could not be bothered to unleash its full power on the player, and just ramped up the speed. and obviously, her placement is annoying but it also ruins other fights, as they become nuisances and obstacles on your path to have a shot at Absrad. i get Pantheon 5 is supposed to be a challenge, but it's not a good approach. i wasn't proud of myself i defeated P5, i was glad i got forgiving RNG and the suffering was over (and i forgot to equip Shaman Stone, so i needed it a lot oops) - Sisters of Battle is such an addicting fight. NKG and Hollow Knight might have better lore and feel, but in terms of pure fun Mantis Lords easily stand on top - as much as Hollow Knight and Pure Vessel are masterpieces, nothing beats the intro to NKG. the whole sequence with the bleeding heart is fantastic, and a full screen title card is the cherry on top, just to confirm you're absolutely screwed. shame Godhome couldn't replicate it it was such an enjoyable watch, i love your voiceover!!

Absolute Radiance is the best boss in the game followed somewhat closely by NKG. I haven't yet seen the video but I know for a fact it is not going to be first place. Just saying this because people still think Sisters of Battle/Mantis Lords are somehow better EDIT Also Marmu/No Eyes are easily the worst because those 2 are actively bad the rest aren't
I really dislike the merging of bosses here. The hollow knight and pure vessel are in completely different leagues of quality for me, and similar such statement are true for many other encounters. Rating the difficulty of false knight and failed champion as if they were one boss feels like taking away credit from both bosses for instance. And the grimm and Hornet fights are very distinguished in terms of narritive so its wierd to call it the same thing while the circumstances along side the gameplay differ radically. Aside, this game does have a great roster with the before mentioned pure vessel being my favorite (Although that title would go to mystic Ze'mer if you count the fan-made expantion "the pale court").
I have to say, I really disagree on Uumuu. I think that the Godhome version of the fight is even worse than the normal one. The normal Uumuu fight's only redeeming quality is the fact that Quirrel helps you; one of my favourite things about Hollow Knight is that despite how desolate and bleak Hallownest is, nearly everyone you meet is pretty friendly, and Quirrel helping you fight Uumuu to make it to Monomon as a main part of your quest is one of my favourite examples of it. The Godhome version strips the Uumuu fight of the one good thing about it and, in the process, replaces it with something that makes the fight itself even worse. Sure, waiting around for Quirrel to make your opening isn't exactly engaging, but in the Godhome version, you're doing just as much waiting, waiting for the ooma, and at least when Quirrel does make your opening, you're actually *getting* the opening. When Uumuu finally summons the ooma and you're finished waiting for the ooma to actually get in a position where you can hit it, your opening isn't even guaranteed; with the scattered placement of the platforms and Uumuu's own movements, it's very possible for the ooma to just hit a platform and accomplish nothing, meaning you have to wait even more for another one to show up.

@-fireball65- Not really. When maxed of upgrades THK is super easy. Hornet comes in the right time, and honestly it doesn't matter how much hp THK has at that point, because at the fight with radiance you get your hp back.
@ I wasn’t maxed out, and and THK took me ~5 attempts, with only one of those being in its second phase phase. In dream no more, THK feels like more of a nuisance, and you can just spam it with quick slash bc you don’t need to heal before radiance

I love the mantis lords and sisters of battle. I understand only placing them at 3rd, but I have an emotional connection to these three mantises. First of all, they were the boss that opened my eyes to the beauty and difficulty to the game. From the intriguing setting, to the stress inducing soundtrack. Ive always loved the mantis lords. I kept going because I kept telling myself "if I can beat mantis lords I can beat anything." And here I am as 112% and all achievements player. Also mantises are really cool and I wanna hug them and make them soup
I wholeheartedly agree with this, and before scoring everything I fully expected Mantis Lords to be number one.
It’s my favourite boss fight ever.
But what set it back was the setting and lore around the boss, which is (sadly) lacking compared to those ranked higher.

I gotta say, the top three are utter masterpieces. In terms of sheer enjoyment of the boss they are the most interchangeable, but damn if it doesn’t take away from any of them. I remember on my first playthrough finding NKG relatively early-ish and struggling until I finally beat him with 5 hours of trying and 20 hours of grinding for the best gear under my belt lol. Mantis Lords were my favorite boss the game and then in p5 when they all got up together……. Yeah I knew I was ready for a butt kicking (but i forgive them as it was the most fun I’ve had in long time) and the Hollow Knight……. My first completion of this boss had me tearing up. Pure Vessel…. Yeah, them too,, as they ended a large amount of my P4 runs, but again, it was greatly enjoyable.

Absolutely incredible video about an absolutely incredible game, but while is love the hollow knight to no extent, my personal favorite fight is the Failed Champion, and here's why:
1: it's a remake to an already incredible fight.
2: the fight is awesome, its so fast but also so simple, letting the player learn the fight and easily and still feel cool doing it. Incorporating the ceiling balls into the fight just adds so much too.
3: the OST is cool, its a cool OST.
4: the pathetic maggots leaning over the corpse adds so much moral depth to what your doing and to what you're about to do, invade their literal minds and slaughter them from within.
5: the lore of the false knight (which is incredible) gets added to, making one of my favorite video game stories ever outside the souls games.
6: The lesson we as people learn, the False Knight stealing the power of the strongest of the knights, and still failing. There is just so much you can make out of this, a social hierarchy, hate crimes, bullying, I feel like I can actually relate to this insect, and that this insect can relate to my life.
7: Did I mention the actual fight, its absolutely incredible and my favorite in the entire game bar none.

The editing on this is awesome! The OST, the zoom, the camera movements, the hiding of the UI… and the most important thing, your personal additions and passionate views. While I happily disagree with most of your ideas, I do feel that I should stand up for one… Radiance.
The way I see the fight is the ultimate symbiotic unity of Movement and Combat. The boss tests not only your ability to fight, but to weave your way around and dance at heights that NKG couldn’t reach. The boss is overwhelming, a constant tide of light and emotion that captures the craze of what this deserves to be. This fight grows with you as you keep playing. From the moment you try The Radiance at the ‘end’ of the game, to when you play against Absolute Radiance, this is a new game. I loved all of the White Palace, and surely this deserves the top five, right?
But not many people see the beauty of this fight. I would understand a non-top place in this ranking if Pantheon 5 was all Radiance had to offer, but it can be so much more. This fight does grow around you, from the moment you master the infinitely satisfying flight of Face Dancing to truly reach the skies (a natural step up from P5), from the moment you master the art of Nail Turnarounds, and become one of the few to master Instant Wings, this fight teaches the player so much.
It doesn’t end at Absolute Radiance either - if you truly have felt the amazement of these skills, Ultimatum Radiance is not too much of a gap to jump up. The fight is fair, well paced and dare I say balanced. While Pale Prince and Infinite God Grimm are just as inventive modded fights, nothing reaches the same level of excitement than this one.
I’m not claiming that I’m good at the game; many have beaten Any Radiance and I’m still stuck on the climb. But I do see that you have the desire to improve and the one thing I think you would enjoy is learning Face Dancing and fighting Ultimatum Radiance. If nothing else, search up Shrubb and watch his amazing fights. (You zoom out the camera similar to Debug Mod so I believe you should have access to it).

I agree with your placement of Nosk. The lore is cool and original for a predatory enemy that is the only one of its kind in the game, the music is bestial and scary, the arena (besides the convenient platform) casts a good atmosphere with the trapped and killed vessels hanging from the cieling. and WHAT a setup. That was the first time i ever felt really and properly scared in deepnest. The disconcerting moment of "is that me???", and the dream-nail dialogue of its scattered victims, and finally the snapping locks behind you.
That being said, the fight? Not too great
this is a cinematic masterpiece, THK in top one is the most valid opinion I have seen and the quality of this video is crazy good, its just a boss ranking however it feels like a movie. I reckon all the bosses on this tier list are really well thought out with their placement and couldn't be done better. however this is almost the best tier list I've seen but gorb isn't #1 (its the best tier list I've ever seen)

I really enjoyed this boss ranking. It took into consideration basically everything you could in a boss encounter. I agree with the general placement of most bosses. The only bosses I would change considerably would be oblobleles, god tamer, markoth, hive knight and nosk.

hey, this is a really well made video and i agree with the general order of the rankings but just wanted to share some thoughts i had :)
i think that the merging of bosses with their dream/pantheon/harder versions of themselves is an ill thought out decision that subtracts from this list for a few reasons. the lumping of two versions of the same boss that are almost objectively in different leagues of quality makes the placement of the inferior version feel forced for the sake of the superior version. take grimm/NKG for example- i can say with confidence that many people would agree regular grimm is not a top 3 boss of this game, and it feels like he is only there for the placement of NKG who imo is well ranked on this list.
this logic also works the other way around too. you hit the nail on the head with the winged nosk description, even going as far as saying it's an 'objectively inferior' boss to regular nosk. in that way it doesn't make sense for winged nosk, who realistically should be somewhere in the low 30s or high 20s, to be 13th place-feels like it's only there because of the regular version of nosk.
not saying it's objectively wrong to merge bosses, or that you can't do it, it's just that it raises some inconsistencies within the list that are valid to be challenged.
but don't get me wrong this was a great video- i think the way you display your understanding of the lore in the boss intros is a great touch. and the section on THK was amazing- THK's moveset reflecting the themes of the boss was a really interesting interpretation that i've never seen before.

It was definitely something I went back and forth on for a good while, because of all the points you mentioned.
In the end I decided to rank the variations together for a few main reasons. 1) there are 47 bosses in all, and I knew this video was going to be a beast, so for my own sanity and script writing stamina, I leaned toward being more concise. 2) I knew that my analysis would include a good deal of comparison between the variations, so separating them in the list felt a little like I was pingponging back and forth and I wanted to keep the bosses separate and coherent to keep the video flowing. and 3) when I came to actually scoring and ranking, I found that (save a couple notable exceptions like Nosk) none of the variations would have ended up *that* far apart on the list. Including Grimm and NKG.
It's a really interesting debate, I sincerely appreciate the feedback, and hope you can understand why I choose to present it the way I did. And on another day, I might well have done it differently!
@@HillJoseph hey, thanks for the response. while i still hold that the merging of bosses decreases from the net quality of this list, and would recommend against it in the future if possible, you raise good points from a video/script composing point of view that i didn't consider before; treating variations as one as a way to save time and energy to uphold the quality of the rest of the video is perfectly understandable logic.
keep up the good vids, and, if you have played and enjoyed any of the fromsoftware games (dark souls trilogy, bloodborne, sekiro, elden ring etc), i would love to see similar area/boss rankings on those titles :)

I've not watched the video (yet). I'm just here to say that Radiance is my fav HK boss. I used to hate HK but now this game is one of my favorites. Radiance's theme is my favorite piece of music
Sub fully earnt. Adore this game and these bosses but i naturally have some favs. Notably SOB and PV
I guess alle of us share a brain, in the sense that usually the top three bosses are sisters of battle, nightmare king grimm and pure vessel. Now im fine if there is a different order to it but here is my thinking. Lore wise sister of battle are not as important or previlent as the other two, so the lore.
Mantis tribe: a tribe of strong willd bugs, and the three mantis lords which was four are the strongest of the strong, mightiest of them alle.
Grimms troupe: there was one dream that spilt to two, raidience wich reprisented the dream, and nightmare heart wich reprisented nightmare. For it to live it must be put through a cycle of sacrifice, where the child is feed scarlet flames so many that the child can safely eat there father wich contains the nightmare heart, when the ritual is completed, the child forms a new group to find more of this nightmare essences to start the ritual oflver again.
Pale rule: the pale king became a king of hallownest and the radience did not like it and started to infect his citizens, the king formed a plan and a cruel one at that. Where he basicly made the vessels to contain the infection, he choose one of the millions and the rest rotted away in the abyss. Pure vessel was trained to prime form which is the one we fight, and was ready to contain it. And everything went down hill from there.
There OST is great i myself enjoy daughter of hallownest the most, and OST is not my main focus on a boss its the fight it self.
Now where do i begin alle of thise fight are great if not the best hollow knight have to offer. While they are similar they do have some differences that detimend my rankings. Sister of battle start of slow with one mantis and then three where fight for your life and its great, but when you defeat the firts mantis then the difficulty significantly decreases for me and for me is something its great and makes sense but how the other bosses fare with it? NKG is hard trought and through out, the fight dose not chagr at alle but the background and the heart beat making you nervous. You might of guessed by now that i love pure vessel, i love the art, the music, the battle arena and the attacks, and what i like about the fight is the longer you fight he unlocks new attacks, sure its only two new attacks but the idea is just so cool to me.
This video should be seen by all who play this beautiful game. Your channel is gonna blow up soon when silk song comes out

I love the theming of the Hollow Knight stabbing itself. The Radiance was able to control it by an idea instilled, abuse the Hollow Knight's own will. But that will, the idea instilled, that it shall seal the blinding light, is still stronger than the radiance. Seeing the Knight as a true pure vessel and with the Radiance's voice screaming in it's ear the Hollow Knight has a strong enough will to over take the Radiance for a brief time and acts to kill itself as it knows its the only way to fulfill its duty of sealing that blinding light. Even if it is nothing like what was originally planned it can still finish what it started by handing its life and duty to the Knight.

i'm going to share some thoughts as i watch
- i loved the section with Crystal Guardian remake XD it's absolutely hilarious, but also a bunch of cool ideas. at least in their current state CGs are two free radiants in Godhome
- jeez I HATE UUMUU, i agree with everything you've said. one of the most important points in game turned into a mediocre platforming challenge, which not even Quirrel could save. and the radiant fight, don't get me started on the radiant fight- harder than Pure Vessel ngl
- Marmu is fun until she steals all of my lifeblood in P5
- No Eyes loses points when you have to replay her. the atmosphere is chilling for the first time, but unbelievably annoying later. and since she likes to teleport out of range in ascended arena, the fight drags on. No Eyes might be my least favorite boss in the game
- now that's a placement i disagree with, i can't find anything good about Markoth
- in my opinion, the setup makes Nosk much more disappointing. we had all of this amazing buildup only to end up with a cheesable, boring fight. and Winged Nosk is just a janky Vengefly King. i would put them lower
- your description of the Pale Court pulled a string within me, nice narrating
- Radiance is decent, but i can't enjoy Absrad. the Godseekers took a majestic, powerful entity which could not be bothered to unleash its full power on the player, and just ramped up the speed. and obviously, her placement is annoying but it also ruins other fights, as they become nuisances and obstacles on your path to have a shot at Absrad. i get Pantheon 5 is supposed to be a challenge, but it's not a good approach. i wasn't proud of myself i defeated P5, i was glad i got forgiving RNG and the suffering was over (and i forgot to equip Shaman Stone, so i needed it a lot oops)
- Sisters of Battle is such an addicting fight. NKG and Hollow Knight might have better lore and feel, but in terms of pure fun Mantis Lords easily stand on top
- as much as Hollow Knight and Pure Vessel are masterpieces, nothing beats the intro to NKG. the whole sequence with the bleeding heart is fantastic, and a full screen title card is the cherry on top, just to confirm you're absolutely screwed. shame Godhome couldn't replicate it

Absolute Radiance is the best boss in the game followed somewhat closely by NKG. I haven't yet seen the video but I know for a fact it is not going to be first place. Just saying this because people still think Sisters of Battle/Mantis Lords are somehow better

I really dislike the merging of bosses here. The hollow knight and pure vessel are in completely different leagues of quality for me, and similar such statement are true for many other encounters. Rating the difficulty of false knight and failed champion as if they were one boss feels like taking away credit from both bosses for instance. And the grimm and Hornet fights are very distinguished in terms of narritive so its wierd to call it the same thing while the circumstances along side the gameplay differ radically.
Aside, this game does have a great roster with the before mentioned pure vessel being my favorite (Although that title would go to mystic Ze'mer if you count the fan-made expantion "the pale court").
I would swap Traitor Lord with Broken Vessel. I think Traitor feels kind of simple and soulless compared to the Vessel or Lost Kin
I have to say, I really disagree on Uumuu. I think that the Godhome version of the fight is even worse than the normal one. The normal Uumuu fight's only redeeming quality is the fact that Quirrel helps you; one of my favourite things about Hollow Knight is that despite how desolate and bleak Hallownest is, nearly everyone you meet is pretty friendly, and Quirrel helping you fight Uumuu to make it to Monomon as a main part of your quest is one of my favourite examples of it.
The Godhome version strips the Uumuu fight of the one good thing about it and, in the process, replaces it with something that makes the fight itself even worse. Sure, waiting around for Quirrel to make your opening isn't exactly engaging, but in the Godhome version, you're doing just as much waiting, waiting for the ooma, and at least when Quirrel does make your opening, you're actually *getting* the opening. When Uumuu finally summons the ooma and you're finished waiting for the ooma to actually get in a position where you can hit it, your opening isn't even guaranteed; with the scattered placement of the platforms and Uumuu's own movements, it's very possible for the ooma to just hit a platform and accomplish nothing, meaning you have to wait even more for another one to show up.
if you line up an ooma with the boss then fireball it, you'll almost never miss
