- The 381 horsepower 5.7-liter DOHC V8 engine features Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (VVT-i) and produces 401 lb.-ft. of torque at 3,600 rpm. Equally critical is that the engine produces 90-percent of peak torque at just 2,200 rpm, giving Land Cruiser a powerful response for any driving situation and making it especially useful for towing.
For 2016, a new 8-speed automatic transmission replaces the 6-speed unit, with the added ratios allowing a wider ratio spread to help enhance acceleration and fuel efficiency. When the going gets rough, the driver can select manual control for more powertrain control. EPA fuel efficiency is 13 mpg in the city, 18 mpg on the highway and 15 combined.
And the Land Cruiser can tow: the standard Trailer Towing Package equips it to pull a trailer up to 8,100 pounds. The hardware needed for towing is all there, including an engine oil cooler, as well as a connector and sub-wiring harness that facilitate a trailer-brake controller. Trailer Sway Control uses the Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) to help counteract trailer sway, helping to make towing a more relaxed proposition.

I drive Mustangs, and am a fan of Vettes, 911’s, Jeep Wranglers, 4Runners; vehicles that have history, pedigree, and have stuck to an original formula. Love this Land Cruiser. This needs to make it to my garage sometime as a keeper.

this is absolutely not what is a real offroad drive. at least the last part on the rocks could start to be hones. for the rest i go the same path with a citroel c1 absolutely ridiculous claiin for the viedo. if this is offroad for you (and we can clearly see he is driving on a earth road) it means you never done serious trial with offroad vehicles. the title of the viedo is a lie

+Eduseveneight I lived in the middle east for over 10 years. My family had this car and worked without a problem (we went real off-roading a lot). Land rovers/ range rovers in general got stuck in the sand quite a bit.

In my eyes the new front grill and lights are uglier then the previous model - too narrow and disproportional for such big car. Great machine, but ugly!

I would love to buy a land cruiser here in America but they cost too much. around 60K USD starting. Sadly I cannot afford one even if I tried.
The reason they are so expensive is due to them being the best there is off road especially at that price.
In America the Toyota 4runner is a cheaper option and is very good off road for about 35k and then there is the Tundra truck which starts at 30,000.
The there is the Lexus GX for 50,000 which is an excellent of road vehicle and pure luxury as well. And there is the RX for about 40,000 which is very good off road as well for a small cross over.
I'd be careful saying they are really good off-road. Yes for a stock luxury vehicle they do well but no where near that of an actual modified off-road vehicle. The approach and departure angles are horrendous and i almost guarantee it only has about 4-6" of usable suspension travel... If you want a luxury SUV buy one, if you want an off-road vehicle buy one, modify it, and have a blast.
flybyav8tor It's more of an offroad tourer for traveling huge distances over rutted and corrugated unsealed roads. I doubt anyone buys one of these to use exclusively for rock crawling and driving through deep mud. But hey if you want to.. 2" lift, locking diffs and mud terrain tires will set you back about $8000 for top spec shit and the LC will take you over anything a modified jeep will. And anyone who can afford this truck can afford those mods.
In my country Indonesia will cost USD 150k, but still we can buy it, this second car price around USD 80k, you can imagine if the price only 60k they will be using this car only for SUV, this is what we call the king suv
