Early in 1991 I was heading back to Canada after a year of working in Edinburgh. Heard this on the radio and was instantly in love. Later bought the whole Hammer and Tongs album. It became my whole soundtrack to my life while I was 23. Then back in Edinburgh in 1993 I caught them live at the Mound for New Years Eve. One of the most sublime New Years Eve's ever. They were electrifying. Even though, so many ppl, including me, jumping up and down, burst the stiches on my shoes and had to go get new ones. Well worth it. This song is definitely on my top ten of all time, with the warmest memories associated with it. Simply one of the most perfect pop songs by anyone ever.

Can’t argue with that. Brilliant song, one of my all time faves too. It was special hearing them play it live again on their recent tour...
Great anecdote. It is a superb song. I bought the single Goodbye Mr Mackenzie at the time of its release.
Still gets me this song even after so many years ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Saw them yesterday, was a hell of a banger.
Saw them at the garage a year ago and saw the Filthy tongues in Brighton last night (3/11/23), only 15 people there but class
Great old tune.
Should've been a mega-hit...but it's still a SCOTTISH CULT CLASSIC THIS...
Dripping in Scottish sarcasm what a great song. Metcalfe was a top front nan in a great tight band.
shirley manson tan bella , jovencita, muy talentosa ella.
Diomio! que banda que banda!! me encantan sus canciones!!
Remember this from school days, brilliant.
Best thing ever to come out of West Lothian! 🎶
Bought the CD single of this one at the same time as R.E.Ms Losing My Religion + can't hear one without thinking of the other!
Excellent quality. Thanks!
So ironic to have back vocalist who will become more than a legend

Hey! These guys didn't suck. Did Shirley know all her dreams were going to come true?

This song that era, reminds me of my ex wife. She sprang from the ground too
They’re alright, but the backup singer definitely has potential.
There's another vid of this but the quality is bad and there's bits missing from it
This looks like a performance especially recorded for a tv programme.
@@MrJonno85 a year after your comment was made. This performance was recorded for the Scottish Television arts programme called 'NB'.
