This video screams 80s. Love.the Era and of course Shirley!!!
They’re alright, but the backup singer definitely has potential.
Big John on lead guitar from the exploited early days 😆😉.
Such a beautiful song theres nothing today to compare to music like this i used to see big john floating about the toon when i was out on my gsxr
Noooo...... 🤣 Thank god she left them and formed Garbage!
Dripping in Scottish sarcasm what a great song. Metcalfe was a top front nan in a great tight band.
OMG Baby Shirley!!!!
would never have happend without the Exploited and then off too nirvana
2024
Saw this band as a support. Then Garbage 8 years later headlining, only realised halfway through, seen you before SM
OMG! That really is Shirley Manson! I couldn't stop looking at her. Never seen this video, never heard the song or the band. Just knew the guys from Garbage liked her from a video they saw on 120 minutes. Finally I see what they saw. Luckiest break ever; for them and her! Btw, I love her😍 since "Vow"
Love Shirley. The rest of this is garbage.
So rude about our clan
Cracking song!
This kinda sounds like the start of heart like a wheel by human league at the beginning
I guess this is the later 1989 promo? I have two other promo films for this song from 1986, one is a similar studio performance for use on The Chart Show in October 1986, the another promo film was commissioned by the NME and broadcast on The Tube in October 86, I recorded both at the time on Betamax, still have the tape
Should've been a mega-hit...but it's still a SCOTTISH CULT CLASSIC THIS...
Terrible, Tuneless CR*P !!!
Enough about Shirley Manson what about Big John on the guitar....come on people!
That’s fuckin big John Duncan!!!
Big John from The Exploited is also in this band beside Shirley
Hanx, so much, cheers❤
Stockbridge Edinburgh here comes Decon brodie
That female backup singer is Garbage.
This just came into my feed after seeing "Skipping" vid by The Associates. Coincidence?
Shirley should rejoin them as their backing singer....common Shirley, just for a laugh.
I'm here 'cos of Shirley 😃
Shirley on tambourine, well I never knew! She was definitely the future of music in this band back in the day.
Saw them supporting the Primatives at the Mayfair in Newcastle in 1987
It's always about Shirley Manson . Martin Metcalf was the driving force and main songwriter, now getting deserved recognition with the Filthy Tongues, not forgetting Big John Duncan on guitar from the Exploited
They played many times in the q m university along side wet wet wet and many other top Scottish bands great nights and cheap beer😂
Whenever I hear this i remember getting the start of a kicking on Bridge Street Aberdeen. Half way through it I heard someone shout 'nooo thats not him' and a couple guys lifted me to me feet shook my hand and apologised 😮😂 Great tune ❤ though it always bring up that memory
She’s an absolute photo magnet …
Yuck..i was hoping for some rad clash like band ...or non ..newy wave...music kinda sucked in the mid 89s ...mainstream shir ...at least...oh well ...i guess the cult was the coolest thing that srill kinda rocked outta the uk after punk rock and gardcore babes like the exploired who never jymped sryles ( sold out) to newy wave ... Yuck...glad shirley had garbage after this crap
Stand over here, shake this tambourine and look pretty.
Big John Duncan, fantastic and very talented guitarist.
This is terrible how the fuck this get play? 🤢
I love it. Just heard it for the first time.
Morceau CULTE.
Used to see martin cycling on his racer back in the day and big john knocking about here and there great band
This, Thriller, Blue Monday and Money for nothing all have a special place of meaning when i met my first serious girlfriend of 11 years at that time.
Goodbye
Always funny that Shirley's early work with GMM and Angelfish were out there in the open and available if you knew about it/had access to a record store with a deep inventory of obscure stuff in the 90s. Whereas Alanis Morrisette (who Shirley is close friends with) went HARD to bury her teenybopper pop records she recorded in Canada to keep them from ever seeing the light of day again once Jagged Little Pill came out.
Rare sighting of Chris Farley on guitar before he left music for comedy. We miss you Tommy Boy!
The world lost such a talented percussionist!
何でこんな良いバンドあまり売れなかったんだよ、ムカつく!
Great band back in my young day , good deeds and dirty rags, classic .
I wanted to look what Big John was doing after his time in The Exploited.I never expected Shirley Manson. That was really a cool Pop Band.
Escucho esta cancion todos los dias, es tan ochentera, excelente tono de voz para rock, excelente acompañamiento (shirley) buena bateria y buena fuerza de guitarra......
😮 is that the exploiteds first guitarist playing the guitar ?
Yes it is good old Big John 😉.
