Absolute pleasure doing this. Love yall. Also I love Rick and Evie so much. My heaven will be living and adventuring with them and also being their third.
Thanks for coming on dude! Can’t help you with what you said there, but happy to have you on FYA as our third anytime and wish you well on your other quest! - Ryan
Can I just say I absolutely love when the podcast goes off the rails? Definitely reminds me of conversations with friends where suddenly you’re talking about Boathouse beef with no idea how you got there. Keep up the both informative and hilariously entertaining work!!
My favorite memory of this ride was actually because of the Orlando queue. There was this little boy right in front of us - like barely cleared the height requirement little - clearly TERRIFIED of his surroundings and going on the ride. I had terrible anxiety as a child, especially with rides, so I knew what it felt like. We were standing right by the big Anubis statue in the queue, and I, being a huge mythology nerd, told him how Anubis is the guardian of the underworld and won't ever let anything bad happen to him. He's a good 'doggy.' That seemed to reassure him, and he calmed down. Cut to us exiting the ride, we enter the gift shop, and I hear the little boy shriek, "DOGGY!" at the sight of the stuffed Anubis toys on the shelf 😂. Apologies to his parents, who may have had to buy him one as a result.
I love how garrett is having such a good time he wants to tell other stories but then starts to go off topic so hes gotta dial it back, you already know off camera they are great company, can you imagine going to disneyland with all of them? That would be hilarious
Garrett's energy is so infectious, I love it. Also I have never been on this ride, but I listened to this entire ep, lol. Stop trying to turn me into a theme park head! 😝
Oh my god over an hour and a half for the mummy?? One time at the end of the night the attendants let my brother and I ride twice in a row, we didn’t even have to get off the ride. It was the best day ever. We always quote the “the curse is real! You guys gotta get out of here!”
The biggest change I noticed after the refurb on Revenge of the Mummy in Orlando is that they made the ride less scary. The show scene were Imhotep says "prepare to forfeit your soul" the new video screen has a less detailed skeleton of a character that dies. I live in Texas and went to both Universal Orlando and Hollywood a couple weeks ago (also an annual passholder for both) and the Hollywood version is fun ... but not the same in terms of show scenes and detail.
your so right. i remember more fire and noise and it being in your face bc as a kid i cried on that ride but when i went back i was like wait this is not bad
Having never watched watcher pre-fya, seeing garrett watts pop up in the thumbnail was literally the most confusing thing of all time. I’ve never clicked so fast
Revenge of the Mummy will forever be in my top 5 attractions of all time. Incredibly happy to see/hear Garrett! Much love FYA crew! From front to back of house, everyone working on this podcast should be very proud of themselves. 5 ⭐️ consistently
This is my new favourite podcast. My sister showed it to me 5 days ago and I’ve watched 6 episodes. It makes me feel like I’m still on vacation, enjoying these rides and parks 😭
Garrett's laughter makes me laugh in turn, that was a delight. I've only been to the Hollywood ride once but I remember being tramuatized by feeling the air on my legs of the bugs. In fact that's the only memory I have of that ride.
FYA day yay!! I literally have never been to any of the parks you talk about yet I’m so invested every week in your commentary. Keep up the awesome work!
Check him out on the Another Dirty Room series on Dan Bells TH-cam channel. Dan is a Baltimore boy (local to me) film maker and makes really interesting things on his own too.
Ryan would be so proud if he knew that this podcast helped me win massive points for my team in a trivia board game just today. we were asked where several parks were (one being knotts berry farm!) and i got them all correct in the attempt to do right by my favorite podcast to clean while listening to
Random but...I KNOW that Garrett is a taller individual but I'm always surprised by this fact because he gives off such "sneaky impish" vibes so I always see him in a leprechaun-type avatar in my mind's eye than someone who's Shane size lmao. ADORE Garrett so I mean no offense just funny how we view folks on screens versus reality.
i'm so glad you guys did separate test scores for hollywood and orlando!!!! i went on hollywood recently after going on orlando a ton and i was so upset there was no "your souls are MINE" cuz that was always the highlight of the ride 😂
The mummy ride is genuinely my personal favorite ride at Universal Orlando. My favorite part is (when it works) the first mummy animatronic popping out and saying "🫷🏻 SILENCE!" with his little hand flopping out.
I feel like a part of the Orlando queue that wasn’t talked enough in depth is the camera in the queue where you can blast air on someone else and watch their reaction. It’s my highlight of the entire ride every time I ride it.
Also in the Orlando que there are fun toys like the alter, the hologram gem that hits you with air and there is a scarab with a TV that lets you hit people behind you in the que with air and scare them. I've waited 2 or so hours for it, even went through the extended que in the colored rooms. My wife and her best friend have waited 3+ hours for it.
the mummy was my favorite ride- it was raining and my park day felt ruined until i stumbled into the ride for shelter. i rode it and immediately loved it. i think i ended up riding it 14 times bc no one else was left in the park.
Love this podcast so much and this episode specifically is so fun! Love Garrett and had the biggest smile this entire episode. Always enjoy the podcast Ryan and Byron! Would so love to buy merch for FYA!
Loved this and I love the Mummy movies!! This episode made me realize I really want to see a podcast with Ryan and Garrett. I don't care what they talk about but love the nerdy geek adhd energy!! ❤
Ryan… don’t feel bad about taking your nephew on too soon. I did the same thing with my daughter. It’s been years, but she still refuses to go on almost any roller coaster 😅. But the Mummy is definitely a must-ride for the rest of us any time we go. Maybe one day she’ll get the courage to tackle it again.
This ride holds a special place in my heart because my dad who is a world renowned cheapskate thought the picture of him, my sister and I on this ride was so hilarious he had to splurg and get it. It's the only picture we have of a ride, ever.
hearing about ryan being on old attraction forums was sooo nice to hear as someone who used to spend their tween years scavenging haunted mansion ride forums on the family computer. absolutely adore this podcast omg
I went to Universal Studios Orlando when I was about 14 or so, and the Mummy ride was my fav ride there by FAR (despite never having seen the movies to this day). My friends and I rode it literally 12 times bc there was basically no line. Also worth a mention that at least half the time, all of the older women on that ride went crazy when Brendon Frasier came on screen at the end lol
I went to Florida and rode that ride with my sister & cousins easily 50+ times in the week we were there. No lines just got off and got right back on again. The employees working the ride knew us by name after a while lol
I once got stuck in that fake ending in Orlando for like a solid 3 minutes, it's like an *OVEN* in there, for a moment it was like Imhotep really did take my soul.
Absolute pleasure doing this. Love yall. Also I love Rick and Evie so much. My heaven will be living and adventuring with them and also being their third.
Lmao love this, was epic to see you on this podcast!
GARRETT!!! You're so awesome 💜 You're a real gem !
The “bone to pick” archaeological joke at 31 minutes has me CACKLING!!!
Thanks for coming on dude! Can’t help you with what you said there, but happy to have you on FYA as our third anytime and wish you well on your other quest! - Ryan
That is the dream! After all, one doesn't choose to be bisexual. They watch The Mummy (1999) and it happens.
Garrett starting the podcast with “let me ask my questions first nerd” had me crying 😭
I’m a simple being.
I see Garrett
I click. I laugh. I love.
Me too. He is such a ray of sunshine.
Me too!! A refreshing break. Just pure and joyful and interesting
he is pure joy
Same
SAME
"Do you remember you told me he wants to be a mouse?"
Now I will never stop thinking about that either.

“i didn’t know what we were talking about, but i love the mummy” lmaoooo
Garrett's energy is so infectious, I love it.
Also I have never been on this ride, but I listened to this entire ep, lol. Stop trying to turn me into a theme park head! 😝
The rare dynamic of Ryan and Garrett is a delightful treat✨
I love Garrett watts so much 😭 giggling at his own jokes I’m kicking my FEET
Oh my God I have never clicked on a video faster! Garrett on my favorite podcast! I am here for this.
Me too!!!!😊
please have garrett back for this it was so good
Hell no...
I am both shocked and not that shocked that Garrett also knows things about amusement parks. I am *delighted* that this is an episode, thank you.
i love how byron just sat back and absorbed everything come at him
shane said for fans of this podcast to sound off so i’m here to say i enjoy this podcast very much!
Garrett’s dad needs a movie or tv show made about his time as a Disney investigator. The man sounds awesome, as does Garrett.
Garrett is such a large man but he has the mannerisms, laugh and sayings of a significantly smaller person. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I love it! ❤❤❤
When Garrett said, "My mind is always in movies", I felt that.
Garrett!!!! His energy always brings me joy
🤮
No friendship has made me happier than Garret and the ghoul boys. LOVE IT.
Garrett!!! Already know this is going to be a great episode!
the way I would spend an insane amount of money to go to an amusement park with these three individuals
1:27:08 oh shit, Byron does kinda look like Kit Harington
Now I can't get the image of Jon Snow talking about Dole Whip out of my head
I am happy to see Garrett here and I am happy to see more sponsorships yall deserve it
Oh my god over an hour and a half for the mummy?? One time at the end of the night the attendants let my brother and I ride twice in a row, we didn’t even have to get off the ride. It was the best day ever.

I have SO MUCH LOVE for Garrett!! Truly a national treasure

I was actually wondering who Ryan could have as a guest star but I never would have guessed Garrett. What a great surprise!
I’m not a coaster person, but I love seeing the excitement from people they bring on like Garrett!
Revenge of the Mummy will forever be in my top 5 attractions of all time. Incredibly happy to see/hear Garrett! Much love FYA crew! From front to back of house, everyone working on this podcast should be very proud of themselves. 5 ⭐️ consistently
My new favorite theme park podcast talking about one of my favorite rides? Perfect *chefs kiss*
This is my new favourite podcast. My sister showed it to me 5 days ago and I’ve watched 6 episodes. It makes me feel like I’m still on vacation, enjoying these rides and parks 😭
The music for this podcast is just the greatest choice. *chef's kiss 😙
I liked, subscribed, and commented because I want this podcast to be financially viable.
I'll be so sad if the pod ends :( I listen everyday to and from work even repeating episodes. I'm not even a park head it's just a good show !
I haven’t been to universal in 21 years but I clicked for Garrett
Sat so fast when I saw Garrett on the thumbnail
I have been waiting for y’all to cover the Mummy!!
This is the only podcast I listen to regularly and it brings me so much joy. If you ever stop making it I will be so devastated.
Really enjoyed garrett as a guest!
BrightSunFilms on the pod??!!! So excited for that ep!
Check him out on the Another Dirty Room series on Dan Bells TH-cam channel. Dan is a Baltimore boy (local to me) film maker and makes really interesting things on his own too.

Genuinely look forward to this pod every week. Thanks for the work you guys put in!

the super aggressive MANSCAAAPE intro had me laughing off my seat that was such a surprise 😭
A DREAM COME TRUE. GARRETT ON THIS POD?? I'M SAT.
i get so excited when you guys have sponsors lol , i love this podcast!
Garrett is pure sunshine in human form and if I see, I click. 🤍
I was equally displeased to find Rick O Connell nowhere to be found in the Hollywood universal ride
Garrett! Oh I am so excited!
i'm so glad you guys did separate test scores for hollywood and orlando!!!! i went on hollywood recently after going on orlando a ton and i was so upset there was no "your souls are MINE" cuz that was always the highlight of the ride 😂
As soon as I saw Garrett I was like okey doke how often is this gonna go off the rails?
when I rode this attraction, I think my neck was gonna snap because I didn't know what to expect.
yesssss been waiting for this ride to be covered! So happy Garret was here to talk about my favorite ride!
love this podcast more than anything ever in the entire world
If you guys ever do defunct rides, Alien Encounter in Disney World was one of my favorites when it existed.
I think if a guest picks one they'd do it
Anything Garrett Watts
Day 2 of asking for Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree
No, it will be ASS - Alien Swirling Saucers!
Instant WCA
Oh hell yeah, best ride hysterical guest. World class pod cast
The mummy ride is genuinely my personal favorite ride at Universal Orlando. My favorite part is (when it works) the first mummy animatronic popping out and saying "🫷🏻 SILENCE!" with his little hand flopping out.

This coming out after being stunned by how good the Boathouse burger was a few days ago is WILD
This episode was straight-up hilarious.
Simpsons replacing Back to the Future really crushed my soul 😭
Byron with the "riddle me this" quick quip with the sphinx dog. too good
the mummy was my favorite ride- it was raining and my park day felt ruined until i stumbled into the ride for shelter. i rode it and immediately loved it. i think i ended up riding it 14 times bc no one else was left in the park.
So happy with that final score. A ride on the Mummy is also a perfect interlude to an HHN Orlando evening.
Never did I think the day would come for a such a blissful colab! Thanks for the gift 🥺♥️
8:00 It's probably Boatwright's at Port Orleans.
That’s what I was thinking. The Boathouse at Disney Springs is fairly new right?
@@Danica_Lou yep
This ride is easily world class imo. This ride scared the shit out of me as a kid but also blew my mind and wanted to get back on it so bad
Love this podcast so much and this episode specifically is so fun! Love Garrett and had the biggest smile this entire episode. Always enjoy the podcast Ryan and Byron! Would so love to buy merch for FYA!

the mummy was my hyper fixation movie as a child but I’ve never been in the ride, love the pod guys!!

YESSSSSS THE CROSSOVER WE NEEDED
I saw Garrett’s face I clicked so fast!
garrett has an incredibly scrambled energy, in an endearing way
garrett watts being on here just made this even better than it already was
I went to Florida and rode that ride with my sister & cousins easily 50+ times in the week we were there. No lines just got off and got right back on again. The employees working the ride knew us by name after a while lol
