Please keep doing this podcast forever! Even if it’s not the most viewed podcast ever it can be our little secret joy on this bitch of an internet
Perfectly said
yes pls we are a small but dedicated audience!
Hard agree!!
Me likey 🥰
please!! I look forward to this pod every week
California Adventure is really lacking in rides that disabled guests can go on. This was one of the few rides in the park my mom could do so I give it credit just for inclusivity.
Ugh. It's so disappointing how inaccessible Disney rides are. Glad they're incorporating it into some newer rides.
Holy shit Bryon. The Monsters Inc. door coaster is a go. You nailed that one.
It’s actually “picked me up and shook me like a DOLL” it blew my mind to find that out
It’s true, I saw the whole thing
Yeah, that’s in the movie.
Mind blown, can’t believe For Your Amusement correctly predicted the Monster’s Inc. Door Coaster 🫢
Byron is awesome
Door coaster idea has floated around the disney community for over a decade…disney even announced/teased it at one point around 2010…lol
Ryan setting himself up for a lifetime ban for filming in the bathrooms. 😂
The best bathroom probably Galaxy’s Edge for theming but idk why but I’m always using the Space Mountain bathroom right after riding. It’s right there!
LOL, was thinking the same thing about Ryan. When someone at the urinal says “Why are you filming me?” he’ll say, “It’s for the internet!”
Depends on what you’re going for- theming for sure Galaxy’s Edge but in terms of pleasant bathroom experiences I’m all for the ones that are tucked back in weird corners or next to permanently walk-on rides that have no theming and are always dead and clean
i love the tangled bathrooms
I just want to say as a park head how much I look forward to this podcast, it is such a great format and the hosts have really interesting facts and enjoyable banter. I love it and hope to see it grow as more Disney fans find you.
I love that mom wrote in with a review. How cool is this company
Please cover Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room! It’s a personal fav of mine 🤙Not sure if it’s world class, but it does have a lot of history and might be quite entertaining to see you guys debate it!
The pure joy of a new episode after 3 weeks of waiting!
Person in the Netherlands right here! Loved the shoutout thanks Byron! 1:08:30
My dad was deemed Clarence by Roz once. "Sir, your name is now Clarence." And she liked my hair. :)
I treat this channel like ASMR. I need Ryan’s voice to comfort me so I can fall asleep each night
lol i leave the playlist for all these episodes on while i sleep 😅
He thanked the abyss, and the abyss thanked him back
I straight up am too scared to go on roller coasters but I watch every single episode when they come out in one go lol
The level of absolute JOY I feel when I see the week’s pod drop CANNOT be overstated omggggggg 😂😂🫶🫶
This is seriously my favorite podcast and I have been DYING the past couple weeks without it. so happy it’s back!!!!
This is coming up as funny knowing what'll happen in Hollywood Studios
this podcast is the best part of my week!! to hear people so happily talk about theme parks with the same passion i have makes me so happy
this is literally my favorite podcast ever! it combines my favorite things of all time… disney, conversation, and ryan+byron. please do it as long as it serves you because we love it
Say what you will about the laugh floor, but the "That Guy" joke kills every single time
In line with the Roman Empire meme, I feel like Mr. Toad's Wild Ride is the Disney Park "Roman Empire" for a lot of dudes and Monsters Inc. is the "Roman Empire" ride for everyone else. Love this ride and can't exactly explain why
Yay, a new FYA! I’ve really enjoyed rewatching these but a new ep is like Christmas. Thanks again!
Oh man Amanda!!! After FYA ep 1 came out, I went back and listened to Saddest Pod (I didn't know it existed during the pandemic). It feels so weird to put an actual face to Amanda's voice but I'm glad to hear her again and to listen to Ryan and Amanda battle their opinions out.
This is the first theme park ride I'd ever been on when I was 17. Monster's Inc. was and still is my favorite disney pixar movie, and one of my favorite movies in general! I knew it wasn't gonna pass, but it's world class in my heart❤
I think if they added two more low budget rides beside it, you’ve got a little California Adventure Fantasyland.
Amanda!!! The trio reunited once again!!! Its the Happiest Podcast on Earth!
Woohoo! Looking forward to watching another episode. Thank you guys for all the work you do on this and all of your shows.
The best Toilet podcast isn't as daft an idea as it sounds. People love a great themed bathroom!
No joke, I know multiple people who have been to Europa Park for the first time and not only said "I found the toilet with the peeing gnome" but had taken a picture of it! Some toilets even have ride lore hidden in them. I know Disney do it too because of the Tangle toilets at WDW.
Bring Amanda back for future eps! Love her take on things, you guys all have great chemistry and are super hilarious together!
Also Byron, was that a super troopers reference for the sponsor just meow?
Love this podcast so much 💜
TWO IN A ROW? THANK U SO MUCHHHHHH
NEVER stop this podcast ever. EVER.
I love the news broadcast within the attraction and how you can see and hear part of it on the TVs within the neighborhood. Reminds me of the old school King Kong part of the Universal Studios Tour.
Keep up the great work!
I just started listening to/watching this pod last week- I binged all the episodes and am so excited for this week's episode!! love the pod and all that you do!
I freaking love this podcast!! Please do not stop making it!!
This is the most perfect podcast. This is everything Ive been looking for/wanted and more
Amanda I totally see you on theme park bathroom ranking. Ryan and Byron--the day before I yelled at you on The Mummy at Universal back in November, I was telling Ethan that I wanted to make a parody youtube video where I just rate and review the bathrooms at the park. (I almost did one for the bathroom at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, but I chickened out.) Also, Byron, when are you quitting your job and becoming an Imagineer? A Monsters Inc. family coaster as you've laid out would definitely be world class.
i ADORE this podcast!!! i need to become a parka influencer so that way i can be the guest one day 😂
i really really really love this pod!
You guys talking about DCA scents and Im gonna cry I MISS THE WATERMELON SCENT IN BUGSLAND 😭
Please keep this podcast going, it keeps my need for Disney content SO content 😻💖 thank you for everything you do!
Love the podcast soooo much! Fun fact I rode this last year with some family and it was the first ride to give us double rider passes so instead of single riders we were able to pair up and ride together. I hope more rides do this in the future!
Keep up the great work my dudes! If I could throw a request out there into the "void" I'd be curious of your take on both iterations of Tower of Terror. Perhaps seperate scoring? Much love from Arkansas.
Me the Dutch person watching from the Netherlands: Thats me! He's talking about me!
4:28 been playing the where am I game with two other friends since 2012 when a friend did the college program at WDW. Bathroom tile was always the hardest to figure out 😂
Haven’t seen the show yet, but I am at California Adventure today and I wanted to ride Monsters Inc. to have a fresh image of it.
Somehow, this little dark ride broke down while I was in line and it was so bad that they cleared the line.
I am now back in a 60 minute wait and I already know this fails the Lesley Stahl test.
I made it on. Didn’t have to wait an hour because a CM pulled me at the entrance as a single rider, gave me a Buddy Pass, and sent me through the exit.
I’ve also seen the show now and to speak more on wait times, because of Lightning Lane, the Standby wait times are stupidly bloated and are nearly always 30 minutes and up. Often an hour.
This ride should not have Lightning Lane.
I genuinely missed Amanda on a podcast with you guys and seeing this made me so happy! I wish all three of you could host the show 😂 love you guys! ❤
I love this podcast so much!!!
HEY AMANDA! Love to see the gang again!
Listened to this on Google podcasts but dropping by because the more likes the better 😊. Love this podcast, makes Tuesday awesome!
Amanda did not fight hard enough on some of these we could've gotten maybe one more pass in there lol. Interesting episode!
Okay, but how cool would it be if Amanda joined to just give a little "this is the best toilet and food near here!" Sort of tips.
I look forward to this pod every week!!! Please keep doing this!!
As someone who has only ever been able to go to Cedar Point because it was nearby but wanted to go to the bigger parks, I love this podcast! It gives those of us who can't go to them an insight into different attractions.
I love this podcast, it’s so niche and passionate and as someone who in general doesn’t care about theme park rides, it’s still really interesting to delve into another specific hobby/interest
Only on this podcast could you hear the phrase “bathroom ambience”.
I'd love for you three to cover Rise of the Resistance because that was always left out of your reviews on the Saddest Pod since Ryan hadn't been on it at the time!
I adore this ride because there is something charming about it, especially in light of the restrictions the imagineers were working with. Also the opening ceremony is super cute with cast members needing screams to open the door for the attention.
I am really having fun with guests bringing their weird faves to the show. It’s really fun to see this unapologetic love for these less celebrated attractions.
Yes!! Amanda special guest!
I look forward to this podcast every week now!! Never stop !!
I love this show and I've shared it with my family - all of us are big fans of the parks and this show is so fun!
Definitely international! Here from Aotearoa New Zealand!
I actually really appreciate reviewing lesser-known attractions like this one. I hadn't heard a lot of these facts. Whereas really big rides. I feel like more people are likely to already have heard things about them.
I *KNOW* I am in the minority, but I absolutely, unironically rope drop this ride. With the ridiculous addition on genie+ (and without the queue structure intended for it) the line was regularly 45 min+. And while I do love the ride, even I'm not going to wait 45 mins.
I have a nostalgic love for it, but the ginger smell and the "lemon" smell were real (I remember the lemon to be more like whatever the hand stamps they used to give out smelled like). I think it's a great dark ride that (used to) no wait, fun music, cute scenes. Loved learning about the hidden mickeys, other fun facts not mentioned, what appears to be Kermit's eyes are in the sushi scene (😂 rip muppets 3D) and along with the haunted mansion wallpaper, andy's room wallpaper and the tower of terror costume patters also show up on him
Anyways, love the podcast and LOOOOOOVE that this attraction was on an episode
i was absolutely counting down for this new episode! good to have you guys back hope you had a good break!!
My kids love monsters inc (ages 4 and 9) and so do their cousins, this attraction was a must-do for us. I must admit that the location is super weird and feels thrown together- if anything they need to build a monstropolis around it in all that open space. It has a ton of potential!
As someone who can’t afford to go to amusement parks a lot but loves lore and all things silly I love this pod!! I love the small clips and analyzations, and personal stories to help narrow down when I do go!
its so interesting see such a different perspective on what makes a good/entertaining ride from coaster lovers as a person who hates rollercoasters- i've been the person looping this ride while the rest of the family rides tower of terror lol, so this ride holds a special place in my heart
This podcast is fun I hope it doesn’t stop. Though ngl I am subscribed and watched each episode and it wasn’t recommended to me when it was released. I had to manually look for it.
I'm one of those two people from Australia! Woo!
if you ever do international attractions, please do scooby-doo spooky coaster at Movieworld in Australia!!
I was so happy to hear Byron say Disney should have made a Monstropolis. I've always wished so much that we had a whole Monsters Inc themed land at one of the parks. I agree with Ryan it probably won't happen but I really wish it would. I'd love to actually go eat at Harry Hausen's and be immersed in Monstropolis
Having the sushi chef be an octopus is its own brilliance. Octopus are cannibalistic by nature, so it tracks completely.
I look forward to Tuesdays 100% because of this podcast, I love it so much.
In regards to the ginger smell in the sushi restaurant scene, I would argue that it's a stronger rice vinegar scent than pickled ginger.
i haven’t had the time or money to go to a park in a long time, so i love hearing about different rides on this podcast. def have a lot of fun every episode!!
Yay, Amanda!
So glad it’s back!!!! Genuinely this was one of my favourite ride at California Adventures when I was a lil kid bc I didn’t like the scary rides 😭
i love this podcast so much, it brings me such joy❤ also, i think y’all should cover the great movie ride from hollywood studios at WDW if you get a chance! i had so much love for that ride 🥲
Pleeeeaase do a disneyland bathroom episode!
Also, ive totally done the random pictures at the park as a game for my students. And then i would buy little prizes at the park for them. It was a lot of fun!
I just want you guys to head up the coast to Santa Cruz and hit the Giant Dipper. I LOVE Disneyland and CA Adventure, but I can't wait for more outside of that.
Also the bathroom next to the Hyperion is the best.
There’s a 4th hidden Mickey!! On the control deck when you’re about to leave the ride, you’ll see one on the right side
FAV PODCAST
never misses
This podcast truly does fill a hole in my brain that nothing else can fill
so excited to see amanda on an ep !!!
Ryan we would love to go to a theme park with you and get all the history 😂
dropped everything to watch this WOOHOOO
I would pay literal cash money to be on the show and talk about my favorite rides I love this podcast so much
I (as many) love this podcast so much and I sure hope I'm not the only person in The Netherlands watching/listening this. Plus I'm waiting for the day that the topic will be an attraction in The Netherlands, Belgium or Germany
Thank you for making this podcast!😇
19:05 Off topic but I would love to see a show where you and Shane do different rituals and games like this
I love the Monsters Inc coaster idea!! Please make it happen Disney.
You guys should come up with a lower level rating system so that when a ride fails to become world class you have a silver and bronze classification obviously with cooler names. But there is a big difference between a ride that is one point away from world class and a ride that only scores one point ya know?
Okay but the thing about slapping costumes on top of the celebrities- the little CDA agents don’t look like they’re made out of soft material so is it a matter of there being some skeleton animatronic underneath that they just skinned and reskinned, or is it literally a case of I could go over to one and lift a thing and have Drew Carey looking back at me
My sister and I used to send each other random places in Disney World to guess where they were!! It’s such a fun game
This episode cracked me up! A beloved ride even if it’s not world class ❤
When I rode Mike and Sully to the Rescue, I was filming it with my camera. When we got to Roz, she said “Hey you in the front row, be sure to get my good side!”
Failing the ride on the smartphone test for the reasons they provided felt wrong. They're arguing that it's a test of the quality of the queue but the average length of the queue is part of the quality. The fact that it has a short average queue should work in its favour
For example, if there was a ride with no wait time so that everyone can always walk right onto the ride whenever they want but the queue itself has nothing to entertain you, would it fail even tho you never have the opportunity to pull out your phone? Conversely, if the average wait for a ride was 2 hours and the queue has 1 hr worth of entertainment, would it pass even tho half your wait time is spent on your phone? I'm not saying it should have passed but the argument they made for why it failed didn't hold up for me
this is one for families with kiddos. my kiddo loves it so I also love it.
“Hey did you know you could shut the fuck up” always funny 😂😂
01:08:36 Representing the Netherlands over here!🤘🏻❤️ Love this show!!
It's so funny that you mentioned the door coaster and now it's becoming a thing!!!
Way to go Byron!
