    In this clip, Kid spoke about Play becoming a born again Christian and Kid 'N Play cooling off in the public eye as gansta rap was taking over. He explained that Play found solace in the church as the group started getting less publicity and Play was going through his divorce. Kid went on to speak about moving to L.A. to do other projects, which you can hear more about above.

      I think the lack of diversity in the art form is the thing. The aggressive style always seems to be recognised more but I feel like there should be different lanes.

    He went to Christian Life Center in Brooklyn and he was extremely active in our church, even during the Divorce, his then wife was typically very tense but he was always very warm and welcoming. I was a Lil girl so I witnessed alot at the time he always presented himself as the sweetest entertainer I have ever seen up close or by far💕

    I'm in that age group with the members of NWA and I grew up in the same neighborhood as D.O.C. so I appreciated Gangsta Rap telling some facts from the street. I got sick of Gangsta Rap when all of pretenders tried to speak on lives they've never lived. The only thing fake gangstas have ever even seen killed are the music and the message. I never stop liking that old school East Coast party flavor, the production companies just took the quick money from Gangsta Rap and abandoned the party style.

    The origins of hip-hop were about partying and having a good time, but by the late 80s that had started being replace by the reality of the streets they came from and the realism in rap took over. It wasn't just gangsta rap, it was revolutionary rap like PE, X-Clan, BDP, etc.
