- Hello everyone! My name is Nate Caywood and I am a Los Angeles based cinematographer.
I had the privilege of borrowing a friends A-Set of Remus Silver Flares to test for a Horror Feature film I will be shooting this summer. THIS TEST IS ONLY FOOTAGE FROM THE 45mm on 6K 3:2 OPEN GATE.
I was looking to see barrel distortions, flares, focus breathing, contrast and color rendering. And while the 45mm has lots of barrel distortions and focus breathing I am really enjoying these lenses on the 3:2 sensor creating 2.20:1 aspect ratio. Which is a nice balance between 16:9 and cinemascope.
Some of the blocking and action in this video are directly representative of possible blocking from the film, so without understanding that it may seem a bit pointless. But such is life! Take a look and let me know what you think!
