We just filmed two short films on the FX3, and I couldn’t be happier with the results - or the process. The setup was quick and straightforward, and the autofocus made capturing moving shots effortless. With a smaller crew, we managed to shoot more footage in a day than we could have with a RED, making the FX3 an incredibly efficient choice.
Nice video! 😁What you forgot to mention is that it’s an amazing camera (and the FX30) because it has a fan ventilation system, allowing you to record video even on hot days without worrying about it shutting down. I use this camera for outdoor videos in very sunny conditions (over 30°C), and I don’t even worry about it possibly turning off, unlike with other, cheaper or even more expensive options. For the image quality and everything it offers, it's by far the best choice among what's available.
The sensor on the FX3 is actually a 48 MP sensor that uses basically group 4 pixel sensors into one giant pixel sensor for low light such that it's called a 12 MP.
I finally sold my canon lenses and one canon R6 camera for a Sony FX3 and Sigma 24-70. It solves so many problems I have as a narrative Wedding Filmmaker (approaching weddings as a cinematographer and student of light) and TH-cam video creator. The clean clean footage at bith native ISO settings with so much dynamic range helps me do my job so much better and the tool gets out of the way.

FX30 is just as god as the FX3. I have FX30 with ZV-E1 with APS-C 7Artisan Hope cinema lens series, and I'm saving for the Sirui Sniper autofocus and Night Walker manual focus lens set. For me, when I need the low light sensor, I probably need the better in-body mic, but the FX30 does most of the work and is a great gimbals camera for 60fps. I can't record raw video, but I can't afford the space for raw video so it works. Do do really wish I had raw video recording, but my skill level is right for the FX30/ZV-E1 combo. FUJIFILM X-M5 is 100% the best deal in 2024. That cameras is CRAZY for $800 new!!!
@@CAMTechChris Correction, both look great and slightly different. The FX30/A6700 is more sharp, which is a good creative choice. Neither is better. The FX30 does low light great, especially with the Sirui Night Walker and Sniper cinema lenses. Specially since I already have a Sony A7S3 and could use a secondary camera that is modern instead of the A7C I have now which I can’t connect to the new Sony app to manage multiple cameras on my iPad

Reason why I went with the FX3 over the A7siii is because of the body and ergonomics. I came from an a7Sii since 2016 and it was one hella of video camera to use for its time. The FX3 had all these traits for the body which enticed me more than the a7Siii. Its one of the best investment I ever made for a camera and will continue to be by my side until I stop recording.
We are using the FX6 for most productions. It’s like the large sister of the FX6, but with inbuilt ND, external LCD and professional SDI output, we definitely need for all of our live broadcasting productions.
I still have two floppy based Mavica cameras. The photos are laughable by today's standards, but back in the 90s, I actually had to SHRINK them down to about 320x200 to post online, so that .3 MP resolution was way more than I needed.
Would love to get the FX3 but that’s a bit out of budget for me right now. I’m a beginner film maker with my dream being to make it into Hollywood some day. Planning on going to film school in college soon but I also want to start making short films at home. I was looking at the ZVE-10 as my first camera to start with. Is that a good beginner option in your opinion? I eventually want to get the FX3.
Skip out on the a7Siii unless you get a used one for $2,000 usd. Its not worth it anymore because it doesn't get the firmware updates like the FX3 gets. And you'll prefer the cinema body over the photography body especially when the cinema camera is always on a cage.
Sony A7Siii is great. Only missing a couple features and good ergonomics especially in bright sunlight with the beautiful viewfinder. It's good for photography especially low light. 12mp is still good for most people.
@@mauibuilder1239 No its not. A7siii will never get the new firmware like the FX3 does. FX3 just got shutter angle, a7siii likely won't get it anymore or any other new features. Sony is solely focusing on their cinema cameras now.

Any camera that was made in the last 8 years shots amazing footage! FX3 it’s great, but not to the level you say it is. I had it, and sold it, and got the S5II X and a blackmagic 12G video asist. And honestly, I think that the lumix beats it hands down on almost every level. Yeah the FX3 has better iso values and better autofocus, but that’s about it.
@ mate, the autofocus o the S5II X it’s almost the same as Sony. To autofocus it’s not something I use often. I use manual cine and anamorphic lenses, and even if I use an AF lens even then I use it manually. There are just certain shots that require AF the rest I need to control where my focus is.
@@35mmdigitalcinema If you use manual focus, the S5II is great for you. For me as a youtuber sitting in front of the camera talking , S5II won't be great for autfocus. I had issues with focus hunting with Sony A7III because I use my hands a lot while I'm talking but the new Sony cameras are just great for that. Believe me I'm dying to buy the Lumix but the autofocus is a deal breaker for me.
The Sony Fx3 is an incredible camera, but not only talking about cameras but about any topic in life, generally what the majority does in this case "the most purchased or popular cameras are not exactly the best" in that category of cameras I think that the best option is the Lumix s1h
The FX3 is too expensive for me 🥹, but I’ll be buying the ZV-E1 next month. If I overlook the weaknesses of the ZV-E1, like overheating, will the ZV-E1 produce video of the same quality as the FX3? Considering that the FX3 and ZV-E1 use the same sensor
This camera is also beautiful! And this is where i think sony has an edge over Canon, Nikon or Blackmagic, the design of their cameras are beautiful and functional I cannot stress enough how important this is to motivate people to create, also they tend to be lighter, The only thing missing now is internal compressed RAW or even RAW for video Now that Nikon has bought RED, maybe SONY can get a license for compressed RAW
Hi @Bruno_Kay how do you remove the separate bands that appear in the shadow gradient that shows up in the videos. like the one behind you in the top left corner? or is it just the YT compression thing one can do nothing about?
Prolly cuz it’s a Netflix approved camera with the same sensor and specs as fx6 but 2 grand cheaper. Shutter angle got added to the fx3 as well now. And ibis. That’s why I’d get it.
Fabulous video, thank you!!! But... Pro tip: Instead of holding your mic and waving it around like a madman and making it extremely distracting, just mount it on a stand and pretend it's not there. This will greatly improve your presentation. Not trying to be rude because this is a very informative video, but all I could think about during your talking head bits was the microphone.
Mm, I bought mine on release and just sold it after years of use with bumps and dings and the usual working body wear. I only lost a grand Canadian of value in all that time. And I'll probably be buying another one. Really one of the summit girls of camera tech this go around.
I'm more surprised at the low marketshare of Fujifilm. A testament to echochambers, I'm a fuji guy and had the impression everyone was. On feelbased only I thought they'd be second on the list but big nooo to that evidently! lol
Yep. The same with TSMC. Apple, AMD, NVIDIA, Qualcomm, and many other companies use their processors because it's too expensive to make their own. Sony has "Sony Consumer Electronics" and "Sony Semiconductor Solutions". "Sony Semiconductor Solutions" makes sensors for many companies and doesn't care about other Sony subsidiaries. Do you think Sony makes the silicon wafers used for their sensors? Or that they make the lithography machines used to fabricate them? At some point, it is simply not cost-effective to try to do it all under one company. In any case, Nikon themselves do make lithography machines. But they don't run a fab. They sell them to other fabs. Companies like Sony buy them and then sell the products made from them. This is done at every single level of the electronics industry. I cannot think of a single company that doesn't need another company to do something for them in the semiconductor manufacturing process.
Wow! Thanks for watching this video! Seems to be blowing up. 🙏 Appreciate it!

while also making terrible marvel movies and owning music rights and killing off people who get in their way

Also Spiderman and Music and owns part of OTTs and TV channels in many countries.. And phones but those aren't exactly doing well.

I had issues with focus hunting with Sony A7III because I use my hands a lot while I'm talking but the new Sony cameras are just great for that.
Believe me I'm dying to buy the Lumix but the autofocus is a deal breaker for me.
@ rent it first
I don't, so it can't be EVERYONE...
Here too! I don’t care about Sonys
I got two of them because I rent it out so often I can barely use it for my own projects. Made the money back thorugh rental alone
Stunning video mate, truly enjoyed !
Everyone isn’t buying it- it’s a niche product but a great camera!
OG editing brother...reminded me of those VOX videos...I'm sayign this is crazy!
0:55 Sony WH-1000xm5
YEAH BABY
Everyone means everyone but I just brought a Canon R3 and I love it ❤
I think FX3 is the only 'pocket' camera approved by Netflix for its platform.
The end of the video is legendary!
This camera is also beautiful!
And this is where i think sony has an edge over Canon, Nikon or Blackmagic, the design of their cameras are beautiful and functional
I cannot stress enough how important this is to motivate people to create, also they tend to be lighter,
The only thing missing now is internal compressed RAW or even RAW for video
Now that Nikon has bought RED, maybe SONY can get a license for compressed RAW
Hi @Bruno_Kay how do you remove the separate bands that appear in the shadow gradient that shows up in the videos. like the one behind you in the top left corner? or is it just the YT compression thing one can do nothing about?
FX30 all the way. I mean, the FX3 is the big brother, but if you don’t have all that cash, dude the FX30 is so nice!
Any Skateboard Bruh fans here? 😎 Great video
big fan!
Great job, bravo !
I would love to purchase one but I’m too afraid of all the updates messing up cameras. Is it still going on?
It’s not at all a common occurrence, nothing to worry about.
Love the ending.
bro, on the cheap side? Sony ZV_E10 mark one and spacially mark ii are grate options.
just saying.
I am quite satisfied with my Sony a6700. Nice video!
Issues with overheating?
Sales of the FX3 after this video 📈
Prolly cuz it’s a Netflix approved camera with the same sensor and specs as fx6 but 2 grand cheaper. Shutter angle got added to the fx3 as well now. And ibis. That’s why I’d get it.
1:16 how funny that I watched a fx3 video yesterday
Vette video! Great Storytelling!
Why not Sony a7 iv?
Fabulous video, thank you!!! But... Pro tip: Instead of holding your mic and waving it around like a madman and making it extremely distracting, just mount it on a stand and pretend it's not there. This will greatly improve your presentation. Not trying to be rude because this is a very informative video, but all I could think about during your talking head bits was the microphone.
Mm, I bought mine on release and just sold it after years of use with bumps and dings and the usual working body wear. I only lost a grand Canadian of value in all that time. And I'll probably be buying another one. Really one of the summit girls of camera tech this go around.
Love the ending 📺😂
Sony “Where is the opengate”?
Love your style bro
this video is an inspirational masterpiece
Wow how long it took you to make this video?
LOVE my Sony FX3
I sill think fx3 is a Sony A7s iii in a bloc body !
love that ending lol
true🤣
I'm more surprised at the low marketshare of Fujifilm. A testament to echochambers, I'm a fuji guy and had the impression everyone was. On feelbased only I thought they'd be second on the list but big nooo to that evidently! lol
Gosh, the guy thinks he's a cold war sensationalist journalist with this video style
So, that festival was shooting lasers at head high?
Nah, my Nikon Z 8 is gawd.
Sony makes Lumix and Nikon sensors.... technically they have a monopoly lol
