    This was a great case, lying, parents don’t know how to stay in one place, and buying a car for transportation while having no license. This case has it all and a bag of tricks. Lesson learned, stay in school and don’t abuse Red Lobster. Thanks Christine for sharing this case and Mike streaming and providing his wisdom. Much love.

    26:38 I've been advocating that for decades. I grew up next to subsidized housing and the crap living conditions I saw....I have said all along: you need a licence to do taxes, you need a licence to sell real estate, you need a licence to sell food, hell, you need a licence to catch fish! but you don't need a licence or permit to have a KID? Arguably the most stressful and important job a human can have?

    Judge Randy Shelton is one of the most patient judges I've ever seen. For him to hold someone in contempt they had to really work on his last nerve. I like the way he deadpanned his contempt ruling and the followup. I think Mr. Key got the message because he shut up after that.

    In the prior hearing they lost parental rights to at least 1 if not more kids.. she ran off to Louisiana to give birth to the child in this court hearing, so that Texas CPS couldn't take this child. The dad is calmer in this hearing than I've ever seen him in any of the other hearings. The parents are real pieces of work. Smdh

      Yeh I agree, they sound like real pieces of work! 🤦🏻‍♀️ I get so mad when people like these two winners have any children! I know that might sound bad of me to say, but I can’t help it! Please, people…STOP 🛑✋ making all of these poor babies!! I suppose some things might have to do with some parents thinking that MORE kids = MORE $$$$, which depends, I’m assuming, on a lot of different things. But yeh, again…real pieces of work here (couldn’t have said it any better myself)!

    While I’m on a rant, one thing this channel has taught me, the courts aren’t unfair as often as people think. There’s some imbalance at times but people aren’t just getting raw deals every day just for the fun of it. People like this actually get over on the court and taxpayers more than they should.

    • @streetracer2321

      Go watch any trial of someone who’s innocent - they get a totally raw deal. An old man defended himself in Florida and got 6 months in jail plus 10 years of house arrest before trial. Judges repeatedly pretended he was guilty and it took a jury trial to let him out.

    • @gatsby66
      @gatsby66 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@streetracer2321 That anecdote doesn't prove he was "innocent"; it only indicates a jury found him "not guilty." Big difference. O.J. Simpson was found not guilty, not "innocent," yet most sentient beings know he was guilty - and he's acknowledged as much, in a passive-aggressive way, in his book.

    • @streetracer2321

    • @leea8706
      @leea8706 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I totally get what you’re saying, but these ‘deals’ actually seem like a terrible idea to me. It incentivises people who are actually innocent to take a plea deal in case they are found guilty at trial (not impossible at all, in fact likely) and get the book thrown at them. It also means that prosecutors can overcharge in order to make a plea deal seem more reasonable. It almost exclusively benefits the state rather than those accused of a crime.
      I don’t think they’re as common here in the UK thank goodness.

    "Yes or no. Howdeya like that? Don't tell me how to answer. I'll answer truthfully, to the best of my knowledge and belief. If that can be done with Yes or No, I'll answer that way. But if I believe it would be only a partial truth to say Yes or No, then I will answer more fully in order to answer on my oath. If you don't like it, lump it. Steve Lehto did a video on lawyers demanding a yes or no answer, they cannot do that (force you to answer yes or no). They can ask, but you can answer any way you want.

    • @LawTalkWithMike
      @LawTalkWithMike  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can but if it is evasive and non-responsive you can ask that they answer the question. If they continue the judge can either force you to answer or draw a negative inference from your lack of response.

      I gave you my answer and it is accurate and my sworn testimony. It isn't the response the lawyer wants, but it is an accurate response.
