Wow, first time I've ever seen this sort of thing done with a budget not a million miles from mine! Thankyou! I did indeed get a sofa for £50. It's a tan leather midcentury with some marks & a rip. It was so low it was hard to get up from, but I found a set of furniture riser feet in a charity shop. It's not aesthetically totally pleasing, but it's friendly & comfy. There are so many bargains to be had, if you keep an eye out, you're right there. All my stuff is carbootsale, Gumtree or charity shop. Oh - and skip/pavement finds too! I got a job lot of paints free from Gumtree, the guy just wanted to clear his garage & even delivered them. I mix my own paint colours anyway, so it all comes in useful. Really enjoyed this video, nice one xx
exactly! as much as i love makeovers with a chairish / first dibs kind of budget, my heart’s with the cheap makeovers. most of the furniture in my place is free or super cheap with, like, two exceptions lol 😅 i love hearing how resourceful you’ve been, thanks for sharing!
I live in the pacific northwest and my fb marketplace always comes up with THE BEST things from LA once I've been scrolling for long enough but it's just way too far away to drive. I feel this desire deeply lol- marketplace is on another level there! Much cheaper and better pieces than where I am. Also, thank you for acknowledging that sometimes life happens and $ needs to go toward just being generally safe. I would love nothing more than to buy something like an authentic eames lounge but ya girl just can't. Seeing a virtual makeover is still so satisfying and de-influencing is important
Also, Dayax did SUCH a good job on working with what they had! I was completely astounded by the clips at the end 😍 The enetri shelf is something they can keep forever and is an incredible find. I don't typically see them for under $400. Also loving the chair nightstand and textiles and coffee table/couch. They have a great eye!
i know!! i’m so proud of them ☺️ that shelf was such a good find. and i so feel you on the money thing. the amount of gorgeous vintage furniture pieces i want is off the charts, but like i need to be able to pay rent first bc capitalism 🫠

that’s my goal! i want to travel around in a van doing irl makeovers for subscribers, i just don’t have a functioning vehicle at the moment 😅
