Holy cow. This is probably the best drawing I have seen Jim do live. The cross hatching and stubble on the face are excellent - it really reminds me of 2000AD /Judge Dredd comic artwork. (like Brian Bolland or someone similar)
I don't think I would be enjoying the mcu or any comic related movie/tv show without this man and his xmen. I was oblivious to comics... completely indifferent... but no one could be indifferent to that xmen 1 cover. That art demanded attention and finding his previous work in earlier issues (good God those Shiar issues😍) became my priority in my youth. Thank you Jim👊

Jim Lee’s art is fucking awesome. His work on Chris Claremont’s X-men in the late 80s and 90s is in large part why I love comics. Very intriguing to see him work.
Katsuhiro was incredible. Was an Akira fanboi - still am over 3 decades later. Always saw your work as being unique - would have never guessed your influences.
I love some of the techniques you use. Black and white is my favorite art style, also looks good with one other color added like red blood or blue eyes etc.
Hey Jim I really do like this Magneto great concept .😲 With your fast stroke sketching and then going and editing it on the fly with white out and ink brush very professional.👌 I have a question would you ever consider doing some anime characters with your comic book style art . that would be something I would love to see just food for thought.

Me being a dork aside, watching Mr. Lee draw a Marvel character makes me feel like I stepped into an alternate time line. If fact, I wonder if he has drawn any Marvel comics in his career?? Magneto dude! Hell yeah! I think I’ll download the DC Comics app and try doing a study drawing of one page a day, just to see what i can learn from it. you don’t get better unless you draw all the time, lol. Dude! Hahaha I drew hands like that once, at first when you made Magneto’s hand on the first sketch and they’re all chubby like polish sausages lol I have a bad habit of that, I throw my sketchbook now when I catch myself doing it. Lol I force myself to slow down and figure the hands out, now. Next time i do it I’ll just take a deep breath and draw sauerkraut dangling off the hand.
