He's such an interesting artist. His sketches are so messy. His ink is so messy. His lines are just scrubbed in with a wrist flick. And then the final product is this perfect masterpiece... It's amazing watching the master work.
Omegah TV don't give a back handed compliment...these men are great artists period. No need to say COMIC artist...they are great period they can swing a fucking pencil with anyone....anyone!!!
It's hard to be properly inspired by this much well practiced and disciplined ability. People call it talent, but it only looks that way because he's put in the work which allows him to make it look "easy." I need to make the time to get better knowing I'll probably never get to this level, but I can get better.
I love how you draw black characters by adding more shade lines. Love your detail lines, the way you draw hair and clothes wrinkles, boots soles and punches.
Man, his inking is on point! I've been doing ink brush daily for maybe half a year now (I have a bunch of them on my channel), but still need tons more improvement to be at his level--that is the ultimate goal!
Hey, scott Williams! Trace this! (Just kidding, y'all.) Pleasure watching you draw ever since I used to go to every appearance you made in Texas after you released Wild C.A.T.s. All time favorite living penciler. Thanks for this cool channel!
I'm not Jim but thanks for the appreciation for the channel. From my experience... the best way to reach Jim and show your gratitude is through his Twitch channel while he's streaming or on Twitter.
it's called 'presto! jumbo correction pen' by pentel. watched him use it on another video awhile ago and actually went on amazon and looked at pic after pic to track it down. lol
What is that implement for drawing in white called? I've seen white markers, but never something shaped like that. What is it? What's the brand? Anyone?
Yeah, I just read something about that. I like the fact that he's a prominent black character but it's pretty lame that Marvel didn't respect the wishes of Whilce.
Yeah, and during Whilce's run on the X-Men comics back in the good ol' 90's, at some point he had Colossus wear a Filipino jacket too. :) bit.ly/2gbrrGe
anyone own a copy of the new Uncanny X-Men #1? if you do, I feel sorry for ya. one of the backup stories has Bishop in it. Oh how the mighty has fallen. does Bishop have cancer now or what?

Not messy....energetic....not being rigid and mechanical is what breathes life into art
You think it's just messy
SDS Overfiend what? No. Read!
If you like that sort of thing check out how this Brian Stelfreeze vid: th-cam.com/video/lQeiITXRkDI/w-d-xo.html
@@BboyCustomz That was an awesome video. Thanks!
Very refreshing to see Jim draw someone other than Batman or Superman.
lol true
Even his "messy sketches" (like someone commented below) are Master Pieces!
Love the way he just throws those shadows in like nobody’s buisness
Bishop's Jeri Curl is legendry.
DAMN...... that is TALENT!! Jim Lee and Andy Kubert are 2 of the BEST when it comes to comic book art!!! 🎨
Very good choices.
and alex ross
VZA thanks
Lani Pimentel True indeed.

The King. Period.

Dude, so boss. I draw a lot of fast sketches with techniques inspired by what I’ve seen this man use. It’s so much fun!
I really get the feeling from watching this that Mr. Lee has drawn a thing or two
I’ve never noticed this, not even in comic books, but Bishop....has a mullet!
Impresionante y asombroso como solo Jim Lee lo sabe hacer 👌
Bowing down in total reverence. Flipping heck.
Okay that was amazing! ✨⚡️✨
"M for Bishop!', that's funny. lmao
Beautiful.
Hey, scott Williams! Trace this!

With construction lines like that... why does he even need them. Scribble on paper and then make a perfect comic image on top of it in ink. Crazy.
I want to have his babies. His rough sketch was better than most people's final drawing.
There is a rule in the comic book industry. Don't mess with Jim Lee's pencils.
Amazing content, thanks Victor and Jim :D
No problem, ThAdonis. Thanks for the support.
god dam he's too good! why you so good jim!?
You are a great artists
art is my tool for my Ministry in story world too.
I wish I knew how to render hatching, and cross hatching like Jim. I either over do it, and muddy the lines. Or I under render.
BADASS
Jim Lee should be on the Mount Rushmore of comic artists...
i'm not into white ink pens that much, but that one is really cool. puts down a great line.
I don't even think it was a white ink pen at all. I know he uses white out. Curious if that is what it was, just in a kind of fat pen form?
it's called 'presto! jumbo correction pen' by pentel. watched him use it on another video awhile ago and actually went on amazon and looked at pic after pic to track it down. lol
I'm definitely gonna have to track down a few for myself. It would come in very handy on multiple types of projects.
KEV'LAR BLASTSHIELD its not ink its CORRECTION PEN!!!
Whatever. I dig the white stuff it exudes. lol
outstanding maaan!!!
Awesome
Awesome. Thank you..
17 mins for a panel. On a character he remembered. Wow
What brush pen is he using
Mr. Lee i know you probably won't read this bit how did you just draw and visualize the result. Damn
You're right. Jim probably won't see this. You should join the Discord discord.gg/jimlee and try asking your question there.
Gosh, with a .08 too, your hand works like a computer man!
Damn! He draws without reference and fast.
what type of paper is he using?
Those are the lines of someone who’s done this a million times over. Don’t be insecure with your work, just draw a million times.
My favorite x-man :))
Like a fucking boss!!
M for Bishop! haha
Mychal Guzman M for Mutant
It's not an m is W turned upside down for Whilce Portacio the creator of bishop.
Does anyone know what kind of pencil he is using?
The drafting one... amzn.to/2y6MaUM
mad skillz
R u a bishop as in preacher ? what is the bishop role ? as pastor.
The hat brim adds a lot to the demonstration. Maybe next time you could just put a lens cap on the camera.
Anyway, thanks for the great art lessons.
my confidence just dropped and lee just sent me back to the lab smh fuuuccck!
Just tried to draw his Bishop and the final result was ridiculous kkkkkkkkkk
Does anybody know what drawing utensils Lee uses to create his drawings are called?
Here's a list of what Jim and several other artists use right here... vzaage.blogspot.com/2014/04/whatpen.html
Jim scribbles like Picasso.
Microwaves make great rice. Perfect rice for fried rice actually.
Whoever from youtube who puts this vid on my recommendation. Thank you
Thanks for stopping by. There's plenty more just like it on the channel and more on the way...
What is that implement for drawing in white called? I've seen white markers, but never something shaped like that. What is it? What's the brand? Anyone?
Here you go... amzn.to/34ltdvL
M for mutant, i think its a brand like the yellow star the Germans used
This drawing turned out great, but why am I watching it? Bishop is a godawful character! Why do I do this to myself?
This guy is going places. Someone hire this guy to do x men or something.
khong khing He's famous for doing x-men in the 90s
punchbutt comics Captain woosh, strikes again!
Nice. I just remembered that Bishop's character was originally a Filipino mutant, not sure why that concept didn't push through.
Bishop is Australian so that is something else interesting about him.
So...Bishop is aborigine? Dopee
anyone own a copy of the new Uncanny X-Men #1? if you do, I feel sorry for ya. one of the backup stories has Bishop in it. Oh how the mighty has fallen. does Bishop have cancer now or what?
Why did the creator of Bishop give him a jerry curl.
because he was made in the 80's, when every black guy had one
GODSON Official Music curls were mostly played in 91 (especially on the east coast). Only a couple states still rocked them.
Godson, Bishop was early 90s man, not 80s.
Early 90s still had jerry curls going around. Eazy E and Ice Cube were prime examples.
I think Bishop is suppose to be native Australian.
TFS I'm like 'Jim! Stop putting tip ex all over it! It doesn't need it!!' Heh what do I know? Amazing
How ironic that a black comic book artist Ken Lashley contact Jim Lee while Jim Lee draws a black superhero
Joseph Wright lol 😂😂😂 when he said LEDKILLA, I was like "ain't that a bitch" lol
Dude literally started with some picasso bull💩 then turned it into a badass drawing...wtf man!
Korean Rob Liefeld.
David Keirle Jim has more drawing talent in thumb than Liefeld has in his whole body
Blasphemy
he did with what appears to be no effort at all.
I like the solid lines but the grey lines. Kind of ruined the drawing.
Not as good as Jim Lee's version of The Green Goblin
